I attended the coronation celebration at Romford Care Home from 1-4 pm. The staff were obliging, welcoming, happy and cheerful. The residents were relaxed and comfortable in their surroundings. They reacted and socialised to the very best if their abilities with all the staff. The singer who performed
from 2-4 pm was warmly welcomed and very enjoyed by all. The staff interacted with the residents and got everyone singing, dancing and engaged. The staff were very encouraging and were outstanding. A lovely afternoon, well done everyone.

We have been pleased with the home in general, but we are not pleased with the washing, we are aware of the directives in place but no sooner we replace our aunt's clothes, they are ruined, with high-temperature washing, no, modern clothes should be washed at over 20 c 30 c or even 40 c we pay a great
deal of money for her care and feel that paying out for new clothes each month, in addition to hair shampoo, shower gel, tissues, deodorant, toothpaste, hairdressers, hand and feet care which all adds up to her care costs.
Since she has been at your home we have replaced five pairs of trousers, two hundred pairs of knickers, ten tops and several jumpers her last two only lasted three weeks, each time we come to visit her clothes are just thrown in the drawers or wardrobe when we have brought hangers in for clothes to be hung up. But we know her care has been good as she is happy and looking well.

Although the home appears to be short-staffed, the staff are all so friendly, compassionate and caring. The varied menu always looks very appetising with good-sized portions. We have no concerns about Mum being looked after and cared for there.

I am very pleased with how quickly my aunt has settled in and adopted her new home. I appreciate the regular posts on the social media site where the family and I can see my aunt's participation in activities. The care home is clean and comfortable. The external garden area needs attention. I haven't seen any garden maintenance since I have been going there. The staff are friendly. Mum seems to enjoy the food. Mum needs mental stimulation and I sometimes feel that she isn't encouraged to join in the social
activities. They give her a list of activities, but as she has dementia she misses them. I would like someone to go in to get her. Overall, we are pleased with the care home and the staff are nice. Thank you.

My mother moved to Romford Care Home in February of 2022. The management team were very helpful, friendly and efficient from the point of enquiry to the day of Mum moving in. The home itself is furnished and decorated lovely. All of the team at Romford Care Home work hard, are caring and got to know
Mum very quickly. Any concerns or enquiries I've had the management have responded swiftly to ease those concerns. It's really important to mention the lifestyle coordinators - this is where our loved ones get their new social life - without these ladies, their life would be very different - meaningful activity is so important. So a nice comfortable home, good care, good food homemade and social calendar - there's nothing more to ask for is there.

I have been impressed by the friendliness of all the staff I've met - both before and since my dad moved to the home 3 months ago. They have worked hard to make him feel welcome. He is offered the chance to participate in activities if he wishes and we have appreciated everything that has been put in
place so far to give him individualised care and attention. The home gave him a lovely birthday recently which he and we really appreciated. The lifestyle coordinator provides daily posts on social media about what all the residents have been doing, together with photos and sometimes video clips. These help our family who live away from the area, to still feel connected to dad. I have been grateful that the staff have been willing to engage with any queries, questions or requests I have regarding my dad's care. The home environment is kept clean and tidy and my dad's room is spacious and in good repair. The staff work very hard to support my dad.

My dad has regained a lot of his confidence which was needed. The care home did not seem to know that the idea of coming to the home was to get help for him using his bag. Once the social worker came things improved and his confidence improved. He was very down before this and was saying he was suicidal.
Communication between social workers, the hospital, and the care home could have been better.

I just want to say how happy I am with my husband's care he has only been in nearly a couple of months. He is well dressed and kept clean, the room is lovely and kept clean. The staff really care about him but also includes myself, my daughter, my husband, and our grandchildren. The food is lovely and
a weight has been lifted off our shoulders as we know he is safe and cared for, what a blessing that is for my family. I totally agree with all the steps for this Covid and we 100% per cent support the home. The Romford Care Centre in Neave Crescent came at the right time for us as a family, and my husband was always up the Manor from a little boy to a couple of months ago. The unit he is on is called the Manor Room 101 which we as a family know it was meant to be so we thank you all.

I came to visit my friend today for the first time. The outside looked very clean, the staff were very helpful when I came in and I noticed how clean and tidy the whole place was. The rooms and day rooms were clean and very well looked after. I noticed the activity list for the week was all around the
home. I would rate the staff and home 100%. It would be a place I would choose for myself.

I found the staff very caring and kind, unfortunately, I don't think there are enough of them. I was told they are short-staffed. Also, it does smell a little of urine when walking in the corridor.

My Dad was in a very unwell stage of Dementia and Parkinson's and came to Romford Care Home from the hospital. Since being at Romford Care Home as a family we have not had to worry about the level of care he receives. All staff are welcoming, friendly, kind, and honest about my dad's needs and situation
and how they manage his high levels needs. O have every faith in Romford Care Home and how well they are meeting all my dad's needs.

I started working in the care sector at the age of 16 and was a Psychiatric Nurse for 8 years, I hold Stages 1 & 2 in British Sign Language which I enjoy using especially when I was working with young adults and children with learning disabilities. I have spent the last 6 years working within a childcare setting but felt it was time to come full circle and return to my true passion within residential care.


The best part of my daily routine is standing back and seeing the joy on the resident's faces and knowing that I have made a difference.

Job Title: Ancillary Manager Joined: 2010

I started working at Romford Care Home when the home first opened 11 years ago as a Domestic Assistant. After 4 years, the opportunity came up to go for the Ancillary Managers position. I previously studied Health and Social Care at College so this has been a great opportunity to extend my knowledge.


I currently manage a team of 10, which includes 8 Domestic staff and 2 Laundry staff.
The home has 114 rooms, so my day is always full on. I love the workflow of the job and also the teamwork side where we all pull together to make sure the residents are well cared for.


Another element of my role is being able to support other departments, I often try to get involved with our Lifestyle Team and their events.
The most rewarding part of my job is listening to the resident’s stories and getting to know them all and their families.
