My dad came to Autumn Vale after a short spell in hospital, for a 28-day assessment. He passed away during this time, but I couldn't have asked for a better place for him to be. He was treated with sensitivity and dignity throughout. The staff were all thoughtful, intelligent and gentle in their care
of him and our family. We spent his last afternoon with him thanks to the good communication, patience and kindness of the staff team.

Dad was looked after with care and attention. His medical needs were dealt with promptly and his views were respected. Liaison with family was excellent. The staff were always polite and respectful.

The first impression I got of Autumn Vale Care Centre was how welcoming the home was, it's beautifully decorated, very light and airy, always with fresh flowers and a friendly smile from the carers and office staff alike. The variation in food could be better, it is very repetitious. Although I visit
the home every other day, I cannot comment on activities, I have never experienced any. The gardens are always kept well-maintained and car parking is good. On the whole, I am satisfied with the home and yes, I would be happy to recommend it's care provided.

My mother stayed at Autumn Vale Care Home for six weeks until she could move closer to home and family. Otherwise, I would have been extremely happy for her to have stayed on. All members of staff knew who she was and their level of care - excellent. The management team were extremely helpful and accommodating.
Overall, Autumn Vale Care Centre has a lovely caring and professional set-up.

From his arrival until his death, my husband was treated with excellent care, cleanliness and treatment for any pain he was in. The staff were very friendly and kind. I would recommend anyone to go there. Thank you.

My father was admitted to Autumn Vale from hospital, already suffering from advanced dementia and leukaemia, for the final six weeks of his life. Right from the off, the staff at Autumn Vale helped in sorting out my father’s care very sensitively, quickly recognising the need for and facilitating additional
one-to-one care so that he had personal company and attention throughout the day. I would like to thank all the staff and management for looking after my father with genuine compassion and dignity. It was a great reassurance to the family to know that my father was being so well looked after.

I live in Australia and have not seen my mum for five years. I have now been able to travel to the UK to see her. The change and improvement in her general health and attitude are outstanding. The staff at Autumn Vake have worked hard to look after her, especially one who has done so much to look after
her and improve her health and well-being. The staff at Autumn Vale are friendly, helpful and hard-working. Thank you.

My father is a resident at the Autumn Vale Care Centre for more than two years now. The home manages my dad so well, I have no words. My dad is a very highly demanding person. The staff try to fulfil all his demands. The staff are very friendly and well trained, engagement team are excellent.

My father arrived at Autumn Vale Care Centre in March, first as respite care before moving to Peach unit. The care he received was excellent. The staff took time to get to know Dad and kept the family informed when appropriate. The senior staff always had time to discuss concerns with either myself
or my sister. The overall impression was, as a team, the staff cared for the residents.

The staff were very caring and gentle with my mum who was in there for end of life. I could not fault anything about the home and feel happy that mum spent her last days there. The home was clean and spacious. Thank you, Autumn Vale.

Dad was only here for a short time but during that period and up to his death the staff were excellent in the care they gave and in the last days the end-of-life care they showed him, in particular, was excellent.

Thank you for the care that was given to my aunty in the last weeks of her death. My aunt as well as myself and other family members were treated brilliantly. We told her to treat her stay like she was on holiday because that's how it felt.

Our uncle was very poorly when he was discharged from the hospital, and his life expectancy was short. He was transferred to the home, and his care was wonderful, and the care home team looked after him so well during his stay. We were kept informed of any issues that occurred. Many thanks to you all.

Initially very daunting for all the family, both parents going to a care home, a huge change in all of our lives. It took a while for Mum and Dad to settle in, but within the first month, the carers demonstrated they had got to know them both very well by keeping me informed of their well-being as I
arrived for my visits. Phone calls from the management team and nurses have also kept me updated. This has given peace of mind that both parents are safe and well looked after. At each visit, Mum and Dad both say, "the carers are really nice, very helpful". Thank you to all Carers, Nurses and Management team, and all at Autumn Vale, for the support you are giving.

Prarthana Bhandari

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2010

Starting as a care assistant on a student visa was challenging, but I was fortunate to find a place at Gold Care Homes (GCH) where I could truly follow my passion for caring for the elderly. Over the past 11 years, I’ve been proud to grow within a diverse and supportive community, learning from both residents and staff. I’ve especially enjoyed building meaningful bonds with residents, listening to their inspiring stories, and providing care that respects their wishes and lifestyles.


Since joining GCH in 2010, I’ve progressed from Carer, Senior Carer, Unit Leader, Supervised Practice Nurse, Qualified Nurse, Deputy Manager, and now to Home Manager, supported every step of the way by the company, my colleagues, and my family.
