I wanted to send my heartfelt thanks to everyone, all the staff who work at Autumn Vale for the care you gave my mum during her time with you. Being at Autumn Vale was like having a big, welcoming extended family to care for my mum and keep her feeling safe and supported. Her time with you, although
quite short, was full of happiness and joy because of how staff engage with her and all the residents, showing genuine compassion, skill and commitment to individual needs. The work you all do is so important.


I know my mum felt happy, safe and cared for by the way her face lit up whenever the staff came into her room. The emotional care my mum received, the understanding of her as an individual and the sensitive support and respect shown to us her family, especially at the end of her life, was remarkable and wonderful. It has made the sadness of her passing so much easier knowing that she was happy and cared about, I will treasure the memories of her life with you, thank you so much.

Our father moved to Autumn Vale, Poppy Ward after a hospital admission and his first Care Home rejected him after 3 days. We were worried how he would get on after that but was put at ease instantly. The staff are friendly and happy in their work, which says a lot and the decoration of the home has
been thoughtfully done and shows that their residents’ matter whatever their age or their health conditions. Poppy Ward went the extra mile to make sure he had everything he needed from Day 1 and nothing was too much trouble. The activity side amazed us and one evening a little group were being told a story to music. As a family, we loved Autumn Vale and wished we had found it sooner for our lovely dad, who sadly passed away after returning to hospital after just 4 days. We know if he had lived longer, he would have been so happy there. It is a hidden gem and we cannot thank Autumn Vale enough for my father’s welcome and their care, support and compassion they showed in his short stay.

We would like to thank the staff of Autumn Vale for their outstanding help and compassion they gave to our mother in her last few weeks. Every member of staff that helped us through this difficult time for the family, were always courteous and kept us to date on her condition and needs. Every member
of staff was friendly and smiling and always had time for us and gave Mother the greatest respect at all times. It's a shame we can't mention names but we will remember you all. Autumn Vale is an outstanding care home with rooms more like a five-star hotel and all your guests seem very happy. Thank you.

My mum moved here a couple of months ago after two hospital admissions, a move to another nursing home that I wasn't happy with and originally from a care home that we loved. This home (the day after mum was admitted there) put me at ease, the staff are amazing, my mum is on Poppy ward and the staff
there always make me feel welcome. We have had impromptu singing sessions in the lounge and even dancing from carers - the main nurse on-ward is always there for me if I need to talk to her. I feel very sad when I see my mum but I always end up laughing and chatting with the other residents and try and get mum engaged in that and makes me feel like a visit has been positive for mum. The decoration of the home is lovely and warm and welcoming. One little touch that I love is that I go into my mum's room and her music is always on - she has had her hair curled by the lead nurse - she is happy here and I would definitely recommend for your loved ones. It has made my life so much happier.

The staff are always kind and caring towards my dad, where behaviour can be challenging. I feel they are always trying to accommodate his needs, even as he deteriorates both mentally and physically. If my dad could voice an opinion, he would say he is happy and settled at Autumn Vale.

My mother has resided in Autumn Vale Care Centre for the past 5 months January 2019. I can not commend the home more. It is efficiently run by a number of staff that quite frankly have become family.
Mum is very well cared for and quite happy. I would definitely recommend anyone to reside here.

All of the staff at Autumn Vale were very professional and treated my mother with dignity and respect. I was continually updated as to her condition and included in discussions to the way forward. There was a positive and happy atmosphere and the accommodation was very good. I would have no hesitation

My Mum is very well cared for by a dedicated team. She is treated respectfully and her wishes met. The support of the staff also extends to the family, giving us peace of mind that Mum is in safe hands. Family events are regular and well attended, which benefits families getting to know and support
each other.

My mother has been to several care homes and can say that this is the best one. The staff are very patient and caring. My mother is kept clean and well dressed. All rooms are kept extremely clean and well decorated.

The care my grandmother has received is excellent. With the support of staff and even other residents, my grandmother has gone from end of life to eating/drinking regularly, communicating better and even walking - something we never thought possible again. Amazing staff.

Autumn Vale Care Centre is a wonderful nursing home, the staff were all so caring towards my husband and his needs. Autumn Vale is a very fresh, clean and welcoming place.
The manager is also very caring and will always stop for a chat and to make sure everything is ok with us as well as with my husband.

I am extremely happy with all aspects of Autumn Vale. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at all levels and whilst not in any way decrying previous managers, the new manager had made an immediate impression on everybody in the best possible way and I hope he stays with us for a very long time.
I couldn't wish for a better place for my wife except for home and back to her former self.

I found that the staff were very pleasant and helpful not only to myself but in dealing with all the residents - including my sister.

I was cared for in a very professional manner. The staff were very kind and helped in every way. I was treated well. I had a choice of food and it was always good food. The activities were designed for the oldies with dementia and strokes, but there was always some sort of entertainment such as music
(singer). There was physio, hairdressers etc. The manager was available every day if he was needed. I was never left on my own unless I requested it.

My mother always receives the best care over and above expectations. The staff work hard to keep the residents comfortable. They always have a ready smile and encouraging word for both residents and visitors. I am amazed at the patience they display and the way they go about mundane routines with enthusiasm.
My mother suffers from severe dementia but it is clear that she is happy here. Indeed she tells me she is happy. She recognises the carers and always comments, in her own way, that they are 'good to her or nice'. I feel confident that my Mother is looked after well here. The staff genuinely care about the residents and it is clear they form bonds and yet are still professional.

I came here in December 2017. I was a mass of fears and phobias because of the previous 2 years experiences in July.
As soon as I was admitted here the staff began to treat me with infinite care and tolerated all my problems i.e panic attacks, blackout and much more. They were kind patient and tolerant.
The direct result of this treatment is that now a few months later, I have been helped out of this psychological forest and am almost my self again.
This is a true statement of my experience here.

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2010

Starting as a care assistant on a student visa was challenging, but I was fortunate to find a place at Gold Care Homes (GCH) where I could truly follow my passion for caring for the elderly. Over the past 11 years, I’ve been proud to grow within a diverse and supportive community, learning from both residents and staff. I’ve especially enjoyed building meaningful bonds with residents, listening to their inspiring stories, and providing care that respects their wishes and lifestyles.


Since joining GCH in 2010, I’ve progressed from Carer, Senior Carer, Unit Leader, Supervised Practice Nurse, Qualified Nurse, Deputy Manager, and now to Home Manager, supported every step of the way by the company, my colleagues, and my family.
