I think this is a very nice home for an elderly person to spend their twilight years. I myself have only been placed here for 6 weeks to convalesce, but have found my stay pleasing in all aspects. The staff are very helpful - nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, they are courteous and friendly
and always reply to a 'thank you' with 'your welcome'. There's a lot of friendly banter and laughter between the users and the staff.

My Mum was at Autumn Vale for the last months of her life. The staff were welcoming and warm to me whenever I visited.
The carers and nurses treated my Mum with great care, respect and patience. They took pains to make sure she was eating and drinking – providing her with food that she was more likely
to eat and helping and encouraging her to eat it. And they did this despite being constantly busy with the demands of other residents: managing to stay calm, compassionate and focused on their very long shifts.
Some of the carers would pop in to see Mum at the start and end of their shifts if they were working on other wings, or just to exchange a few words during the course of the day. This friendliness made such a difference to my Mum’s quality of life.
The nurses who were on duty during Mum’s last few days were compassionate, attentive and carefully professional - helping to make sure that Mum's last days were comfortable and free from distress.

I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. My dad is so well cared for, he is happy and content. The carers are all doing a fantastic job and my dad likes them all. The nurses are really looking after him well. It is clean, friendly and welcoming. The management is good too, very efficient and
responsive. I can relax knowing my dad is in very good hands.

The care my mother-in-law receives is of a good standard in the main. She is always clean and she seems happy most of the time. My only complaint is noticing if her nails or eyes need attention. They will do it if we ask but we would be happier if they noticed before we have to tell them. Her carers
are very good with her. She is always happy when they are around. We don't think she would have survived this long without their care.

My husband who suffers from Alzheimer's was moved to Autumn Vale after being in hospital for seven weeks after suffering from sepsis.
He was unable to walk, is doubly incontinent and unable to feed himself.
The was no possibility of him coming home, so we have to find him a nursing home. Luckily
we picked Autumn Vale.
We have been pleased with the way he has been treated, even though he has only been here for three weeks, nothing seems too much trouble.
They have also looked after me and my family with empathy and kindness at a very difficult time.

Prarthana Bhandari

Job Title: Care Home Manager Joined: 2010

Starting as a care assistant on a student visa was challenging, but I was fortunate to find a place at Gold Care Homes (GCH) where I could truly follow my passion for caring for the elderly. Over the past 11 years, I’ve been proud to grow within a diverse and supportive community, learning from both residents and staff. I’ve especially enjoyed building meaningful bonds with residents, listening to their inspiring stories, and providing care that respects their wishes and lifestyles.


Since joining GCH in 2010, I’ve progressed from Carer, Senior Carer, Unit Leader, Supervised Practice Nurse, Qualified Nurse, Deputy Manager, and now to Home Manager, supported every step of the way by the company, my colleagues, and my family.
