My mum was in St Paul's for three years. The care she received was exceptional, all the nurses and carers treated her with love and respect. In her final months she was treated with such dignity and love. I cannot recommend this home more highly. Everyone involved in the home are very special people.

St. Pauls Care Home is welcoming with excellent staff. My mum always looks clean, happy and well cared for. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. Considering my mum was in another care home we are so pleased we found St. Pauls. Considering the poor care she received from the other care home.

Mum went to St Paul's during Covid. It meant that I hadn't been able to visit beforehand and for many months the only visits were between glass with microphones. So imagine my delight when these restrictions were lifted that I got to see her delightful room and meet properly her carers and nurses.
I
have absolutely no issues with Mum's care and wellbeing. It was obvious these were being met and I was very reassured by this. I was always kept fully informed of any changes in Mum, both physical and medical.
The whole team were always friendly, caring and kind. My Mum's needs changed considerably during her time at St. Paul's but I never had any concerns. I would recommend St. Paul's to anyone considering nursing care for their loved one.
Reply from Sarah Williams, Marketing Manager at St Pauls Care CentreThank you for sharing your experience regarding your mum's stay at St. Pauls Care Centre. Mym received exceptional care at St Paul's and was welcomed and loved as part of the family from the moment she and us as her family arrived. With a strong emphasis on living, our mother's health, dignity, friendships, interests and self-worth were valued and nurtured every day.

My wife has been a resident at St Pauls Care Centre for a little over two years. She has dementia and is difficult to care for as she is generally non-compliant with carers and is still very mobile. I am very happy with the care my wife is receiving. In my view it is exceptional and the carers and nurses
are professional, caring, supportive, friendly and kind. It is a nursing dementia unit and I am always kept fully informed as to my wife's condition by the nurses. The home itself is kept spotless and the facilities are first class, very well thought out and superbly maintained. Resident's rooms are light and airy. Residents have free access to an enclosed garden with seats and tables. One of the wings of the home is a connecting glass corridor with open views of gardens on both sides.
I do not hesitate in recommending St Pauls Care Centre for its outstanding care and the peace of mind it delivers.
Reply from Sarah Williams, Marketing Manager at St Pauls Care CentreThank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful and heartfelt review. Your recommendation is deeply appreciated, and we are honoured to be entrusted with your wife's care. If there is anything we can do to further support you both, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Can't thank the nurses and carers on Floor 1 enough for the care and compassion they showed my mother before she passed away in August 2024. Nothing was too much trouble and was always greeted with a smile, the nurses always made sure I was kept up to date with my mother's needs either in person or
by telephone. They also had a doctor who visits on a regular basis which meant that any issues were dealt with very promptly. I would 100% recommend St Pauls Care Centre.

We chose St Pauls in 2022 as the hospital had only given my Mother a few days, at the most a few weeks to live. Thanks to St Pauls dedication and skills, she is still thriving 2 1/2 years later. Nothing is too much trouble, always welcoming and professional. 11 out of 10 as far as we are concerned,
and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

They keep me up to date every day about Mum's health and whether she has been strong enough to go
to the activities etc. We visit quite often and are always welcomed by all the staff.

My dad spent his final two weeks of life at St Pauls after a very distressing month in hospital. I can't fault the care given. They let residents retain their dignity and show so much compassion and pride in what they do. Every member of the team I met, from the excellent nurses, to the fabulous carers,
activity co-ordinators, reception, kitchen, laundry and maintenance staff, go above and beyond to ensure residents are clean, comfortable and safe, no matter how complex their needs. It genuinely feels like such a well-run and professional environment. I have no regrets in choosing St Pauls to help my dad and me. It's little wonder they have earned an 'outstanding' CQC rating. Can't thank them all enough!

To all the staff, a heartfelt thank you for your outstanding care. My mother arrived at the end of November 2023 with weeks to live. Your kindness, empathy, compassion and yes, dare I say love, made her end of life happy. You helped her find the strength to live a further 6 months. Every day she told
me of the little unnoticed kindnesses from the staff on the second floor. I witnessed the dedication of the staff not only towards my mother, but all the residents, often when they were totally unaware. The last few days of my mother’s life were very difficult, for her and our family, all the staff did everything humanly possible to make my mother comfortable and to support us as a family. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done. You work in a very difficult environment and are truly underappreciated, but what you did made a difference! I don’t know what we would have done without you. You are all wonderful human beings. Thank you.

My lovely Mum has advanced Alzheimer's. From the moment she arrived at St Paul's, we knew we'd struck gold. The team were ready to greet and settle Mum in. It was a very smooth transition from hospital and they quickly learnt Mum's needs. The health care assistants and nurses are wonderful. They treat
Mum with love, respect, dignity and gentleness that we didn't realise could be possible from non-family members. Housekeeping keeps the home immaculately clean and Mum's clothes get magically washed.
Food is always plentiful and tailored for Mum's needs.
The quarterly relatives meetings provide a forum to engage with management.
There's a calm, friendly and inclusive atmosphere where residents and their relatives can socialise. Mum's been resident for 6 months now and she has been looked after wonderfully. As a control freak, I felt nervous about trusting and outsourcing something as precious as my Mum's welfare to anyone else, but I could not be happier with St Paul's.
Reply from Jay Demetrious, Marketing Executive at St Pauls Care CentreThank you deeply for your heartfelt review of St. Paul's. We're truly touched by your kind words and are thrilled to know that your mum has found such wonderful care with us. Your trust means the world to us, especially given your initial apprehensions. We're committed to maintaining the high standards of care, cleanliness, and communication that you've highlighted. Should you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out. I have been very pleased with the close attention of the staff. They are all very friendly which I have appreciated. The permanent residents who are able to use the dining room and the lounge have been very good company for me. I've never spent time in a care home before so my judgement is difficult
to make. There seems to be a lack of soundproofing which I've been affected by during the nights.

Mum has been at St Pauls since April 2022. In that time the carers and all the staff have been kind, caring, helpful and professional. I like the consistency of staff, having dementia Mum is wary of strangers and having the same members of staff regularly helps with this and other anxieties. Mum is
pretty much nonverbal but the staff seem able to understand her needs. The activities team always make sure there is something to do for the residents and organise regular events and parties which friends and family are invited to. Security is good and I have every confidence that once I leave her Mum will be safe. The nursing staff keep on top of health issues and have regular medication reviews with the GP surgery allocated to the home.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.877)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.877) out of 10 for St Pauls Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 42 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 42 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.877 for St Pauls Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (429 Excellents x 5) + (56 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 487 Ratings = 4.877
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Pauls Care Centre is based on 42 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 88 registered maximum number of service users is 17.6, which has been reached with 42 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
