Two members of St Paul's came to represent the home on the day of Mum's funeral; we class them both as family.

Firstly, the staff and cleanliness of St Pauls is exceptional. I am pleased to share my positive experience and would highly recommend this care home for any senior citizen seeking a comfortable and compassionate environment. Well-maintained and impeccably clean and friendly environment for residents. There is always an extensive schedule of activities during the week.

This has all taken place in a light and airy, well-appointed and well-managed, purpose-built facility, where the residents are provided with good food options and frequent carer interactions and activity. Even the laundry and maintenance staff will chat and present a cheery demeanour to the residents. Family are welcomed wholeheartedly and communication is excellent, daily in person as well as through notices and regular meetings.

From first arriving at St Pauls Care Home in August 2023, my 98/99 year old mother has settled well. The staff are all so kind and pop in frequently to check that she has all she needs. Showers and clean clothes every day, means I can be confident of hygiene. The home is purpose-built and kept scrupulously clean. Even though she doesn't join in, it's good to see other residents engaging in the many social activities laid on. There are no agency staff and the commitment of all from nurses, carers, cleaners, activity and reception staff is clear to see. Everyone is so welcoming. A real home from home.

My dad was discharged from hospital into the care of St Pauls Care Centre, Hemel Hempstead, in April 2023. He was 85 and had lost his mobility due to the spread of cancer into his spine, he also had Parkinson's disease which affected his memory and ability to make decisions. Dad was always treated with respect and care, the staff at St Pauls are caring and compassionate. We couldn't have wished for any better care for him under difficult circumstances. Dad died peacefully on 2nd October and we are grateful for all that the staff did for him and the support they gave to the family in his final days. St Pauls deserves their CQC ‘Outstanding’ rating.

My mum went discharged from hospital into the care of St Paul’s Care Centre, Hemel Hempstead in May 2022. She was 94 and broke her arm following a fall. She lost her limited mobility and suffered confusion and delirium while in hospital and was very poorly when she got to St Paul’s. Slowly but surely, with the excellent care she received from the nurses and carers, she regained some strength, but was never able to regain her mobility. I would like to say how grateful I am to St Paul’s for making my mum's last 15 months of her life so comfortable and give me piece of mind that she was being well cared for. She died peacefully last week. Thank you St Paul’s for all you did for her.

We feel so fortunate to have found St Pauls. We feel we could not have provided a better last home for my Aunt. I would also add that the GP surgery associated with St Pauls is first-rate and works extremely closely with both St Pauls and family members.

My Dad came out of hospital after 4 weeks and was very thin and had pressure sores on one of his feet. He has now been in St Paul's for a few weeks and has put his weight back on. I find the staff caring and attentive and they go out of their way to individualise patient care to get residents back to their optimal function.

You cannot ask for better staff on the 2nd floor; everyone always says hello to you. Any problems with my mother, I am informed straightaway. The building is very clean, and the activities staff do a good job of entertaining the residents. The food is cooked according to residents' needs. I wouldn't wish my mother to be in another home.

I am very impressed with the care and the staff at St Pauls. Mum is well looked after; she is as content as she could be. The food is good quality. The floor she is on is well-managed, clean and pleasant.

The staff are always very welcoming when I visit my husband. They always interact with him, some of them ensuring they make eye-to-eye contact with him. Their care is compassionate, respectful and considerate, often in very challenging circumstances.

My dad has been at this home for nearly three years, and in that time, he has had first-class treatment by a wonderful bunch of carers. We have been kept informed about all that has been happening with him. All the staff are very polite and very helpful whenever asked for anything. The staff are very mindful and spend time with my dad and sit and talk to him. Overall, I couldn't be more happy.

I am thrilled with the excellent care that my husband is getting. The staff are both professional and kind. They are caring and understanding and also very efficient. I particularly appreciate that the staff are consistent and agency staff are not used. They know my husband well and treat all residents as individuals. They are patient. The staff listen to me and care about how I feel too. My husband is happy and feels loved and cared for.

My 93-year-old father was very ill and was rapidly deteriorating. Management at home was becoming difficult for everyone. We made a considered decision in finding him a local nursing home where help was at hand. We chose St Pauls Care Centre. It provided a friendly, warm, safe and clean environment under an umbrella of well-organised management where he was afforded dignity to the end. He was resigned to dying. He chose his moment to slip away and perhaps did so at St Pauls because he was relaxed. He was well looked after, and we were making regular visits, which will have comforted him and reassured him that everything was in order. Not many of us can hold down a conversation and entertain guests over lunch at the grand old age of 93 in a freshly ironed shirt two days before dying! Thank you so much to everyone at St Pauls.

I have only visited my friend when she was moved into St Pauls Care Centre. Over the last two years, I have visited her twice when she was rushed into hospital and in two other nursing homes. Without a doubt, St Pauls has been the most welcoming for visitors. The kindness that staff show in looking after their visitors, the positive kindness we receive in the reception with a drink of our choice is like 'manna of heaven'! Most importantly, my friend is just a different person, she is more alert and she is eating well and I cannot thank you enough.

We chose St Pauls Care Centre for my father who had suffered a severe stroke and needed nursing care. Throughout his stay, until his passing away he was treated with compassion and respect. The nursing staff were excellent, support from the care team was well managed and all of the wider staff we came into contact with were friendly, professional and caring.

The staff I have been privileged to meet at St Pauls Care Centre have always exhibited the highest degree of capability in the work they do. There is a comfortable atmosphere generated by a friendly staff which benefits both residents and visitors alike. The carers and nursing staff have met all my requirements for the care of my wife and have always answered my concerns forthrightly and quickly. Sympathy for me, when it is required, is generously given. I have seen first-hand the high quality of care given to my wife and other residents. In my absence, that dedication and skill gives me absolute confidence that she will always be perfectly safe and cared for in the hands of these highly motivated, professional people who work diligently, either singly or in a small team, according to the task presented. The services provided at all levels are of the highest order.
