Harbour Care Centre

Good experience. I am looked after and am very comfortable. The staff are kind and friendly. I can go out with members of my family or friends and I do not feel "institutionalised!"

Mum passed away recently. She had resided for approx 6 months. In that time she made some special friends and got on so well with the staff. She really connected with a number of them especially five of them in particular. She spoke fondly of waiting to return to see them and her friends when in hospital. The manager has also been a great support, he is a very compassionate and empathetic leader. Thanks so much.

She was really well looked after by the carers. The food was good and the activities lady was brilliant. The care home manager was also very helpful and caring.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for a year now and today was her 92nd birthday. She had only been in a few days and they made a birthday cake for her. Today we joined her for lunch which was excellent and for which there was no charge plus they made a delicious cake. We cannot fault her care and how she is being looked after. I have recommended it to a friend and her mother will become a resident next week.

I would recommend this home to anyone.

The care centre was clean and welcoming and my husband's room was lovely for the short time he was staying.

My mum is a recent resident at Harbour Care Centre and from the start of her joining we knew that she is in a safe and very caring environment. All of the staff from management, nursing and auxiliary go above and beyond their care for all the residents. They are brilliant at encouraging my mum to engage and take part in all the daily activities. The food is well presented, well balanced and with a good choice. An extremely well-run care home. We feel that we couldn't have chosen better for her. Thank you everyone.

I have had relatives in a number of care/nursing homes. Since the aunt of my closest friend has been in Harbour Care Centre I have only 100% praise for the home provided for the residents. Nurses and carers are so professional and kind in all they do. Other staff, housekeeping, cooks and activities are top quality. Also, the administrative staff and manager are so good. The home is obviously well-led and managed so that standards are always first class. A pleasure to visit both my friend, other residents and staff. Well done!

Couldn't have chosen a better care home for my nan. Staff are excellent, go above and beyond. My Nan feels safe and secure here. In her words ‘it is very comfortable and clean and the staff look after me’. The food here is very good and plentiful. The staff encourage her to engage in multiple activities daily. Cannot fault Harbour Care Centre. An extremely well run care home.

Overall impression has been very satisfactory. On the whole, staff have been very friendly very helpful. Requests have been dealt with promptly on the whole and solutions sought to any problems.

The management and the whole team have shown exceptional care and kindness during my stay at their excellent home.

the care centre is well organised. There is plenty for my mother to do. She is can join in with many activities and she is encouraged to do so. The food is well presented with lots of choices and well balanced. Mum enjoys a joke with the carers and they are kind and most helpful. I feel so much happier now she us in safe harbour.

A recent CQC review has returned a "good" result which is well deserved.

My father arrived from hospital at the end of January and was resident until his passing at the end of February. I have found the standard of care to be excellent from both management, nursing care and auxiliary staff. Everyone made an effort to treat my father as an individual and took the time to liaise with me and other family members in this time of greatest need.

My mum is being cared for following several long and protracted stays in hospital. The changes in her are remarkable and are down to the care she is receiving at Harbour Residential Home. The staff are amazing, the manager is very hands on and knows all the residents and their individual needs. Everyone in the home is caring, the rooms are lovely and the meals are plentiful. Highly recommend.

The staff are excellent.

Mum continues to be a well-looked after resident at Harbour Residential Care Centre, now for over 2 years. During this time, all the staff have made mum feel at home. They encourage all residents to take part in activities, mum loves it when there is an opportunity to sing. Staff are always happy to discuss what is happening and ensure all of mums needs and requirements are being met. All staff are always very polite, and friendly and come across as people you can trust. They had excellent procedures in place to manage Covid and I am so grateful to them for keeping mum safe. I can't recommend Harbour Residential and all the staff highly enough - thank you.

My mother was a resident here for four years until she died in June 2022. She was 92, had vascular dementia and various health problems, and was the longest-standing resident at the time of death. The carers were wonderful, friendly, and sensitive to her needs. The home had flourished for several years and was a happy place. Sadly, under new management this changed, and although the care staff were wonderful when my mother died there was no acknowledgement whatsoever from the manager or the head office. Not an email, phone call, letter, card, or anything to suggest she was any more than a number to them! The only thing we received the day after her death was a notification that the standing order for fees had ceased. The manager saw us come in to collect her things a week later and closed his door and didn’t speak to us. No care, concern or regret was expressed and I wrote to head office and manager to say how disappointed we were by this callousness and I did not even receive a reply!
