My mum recently celebrated a birthday at Harbour Residential Care Centre. I have to say mum was certainly made the centre of attention. Her friends were made aware that it was her birthday and she had a lovely day in general from start to finish. A birthday cake was made especially for her by the resident cook which I must say was excellent and was shared around everybody. All staff were polite and nothing was too much for them to do. A day I will not forget. Well done and a big thank you to all involved.

Excellent care looking after Dad well and understanding his needs completely. My dad prefers to staff in his room and he is allowed to.

My wife and I visited for the first time possible in two years to see an old friend whom we had been told, was very weak. The welcome we received was very warm and friendly but more than this, the lady nurse came with us to our friend's bedside, and I was greatly impressed by the kind, bright and thoughtful way she helped us all through a difficult visit. It was her kind and respectful words, her sincerity, and that she took time to be with us. We did not stay long because of the situation but I want to record that from my own five-year Nursing Home experience with my father, now unbelievably 30 years ago, the care and service we found today, to be outstanding. Everything depends on the staff and the moment but for us, this was very impressive.

I wouldn't hesitate about using Harbour Residential Home, I would recommend it to friends and family and have had no concerns.

This care facility is wonderful, the staff are very friendly and happy to help. I feel very safe and happy my mother is here.

My husband went into Harbour Residential Home to enable me to have a holiday, he was made extremely welcome and comfortable. He has stated he is more than happy to return at any time should I wish to take another holiday. The staff were very friendly and caring and nothing was too much trouble. We have nothing but praise for the home.

My mother-in-law was a resident at Harbour Residential Care Centre (Harbour Lodge) for over 3 years. During her stay, the staff were outstanding in all aspects of her care and created a wonderful home away from home for her.

My mother just passed recently, the staff made the last few years as comfortable and caring as possible. My family believes my mother had excellent and brilliant care from day one until she passed. Well done!

I was in Harbour Lodge Care Centre for 7 days for respite care after falling and damaging my back. I was in a privileged position as I had all the loving care, delicious food and facilities that the permanent residents had and also brief interesting conversations with the staff. I was able to make a kind of friendship with some of the residents and have short conversations with them. From the manager to the lady who started work while I was there, I found all the staff quite exceptional in the devotion they gave to their calling. I am so grateful to all of them.

It wasn't really the best time to relocate my father into residential care. When he first moved in, I wasn't even able to visit him. However, I was kept up to date with phone calls, emails and photos, so I knew he was settling in well. As soon as the government changed the rules, I was invited for a fully Covid-19 safe visit and was so reassured. Dad looked so well cared for (the food is great and there is a good choice at every meal) and he clearly loves all the staff to bits. I visit as often as I can and to be honest, the staff have looked after me too; helping me to come to terms with Dad living with them now and not in his own home. The home is just that, a real home and it makes us all feel that we have made the right decision. There comes a time when a family is not able to give all the expert care needed and I know that my father is getting the very best of care, something that he really deserves.

I would like to thank the staff at Harbour Residential Care Centre who have been looking after my husband for the last seven months. They dealt professionally with his initially very challenging behaviour and when Covid rules relaxed enough for me to visit he seemed very content and happy. He also seemed to interact well with the staff and looked well cared for, which was a great relief.

From our very first enquiry regarding 'respite' care, at Harbour Residential Care Centre the manager and staff have been very helpful and have done everything they can to accommodate my mother-in-law, following her recent fall and hospital admission, assisting her to get stronger each day with the ultimate aim of her being able to return to live at home. Communication regarding queries is very prompt. It is a particularly challenging time with the constantly changing Covid 19 restrictions and staff are doing a tremendous effort to keep all residents safe and well.

My Father stayed for a couple of weeks. He enjoyed his stay and was very pleased with everything. He was well cared for, he ate well and enjoyed the entertainment and joined in with the singalongs. He came out of his shell!

I would like to say a big thank you to the manager and the care team for looking after my mum for a respite period of a week. The manager was very reassuring about the safety measures taken to prevent a Coronavirus outbreak and general care home concerns I had. When I visited the home, it was well maintained, and the residents all looked happy. Mum was very happy during her stay, and this was confirmed by the staff sending me photos and videos of her dancing etc, especially on her birthday when she was presented with a lovely cake. It was very reassuring that I knew my mum was safe and happy in an environment that was unfamiliar to her. I would definitely be booking more respite weekends, and I know that in the long term if mum's condition deteriorates further and long term care is needed, I would have no hesitation in placing her at Harbour care home, knowing she was in safe and caring hands. Well done to all the team and keep up the great work; you are appreciated.
