Winifred Dell Care Centre is a friendly and relaxed place for elderly people to live. It is registered for residential and dementia care.

It encourages residents and visiting families and friends to be fully involved in the day-to-day life of the home including activities. All visitors are welcome to join residents for meals, when possible. Above all, staff believe in a flexible person-centred approach.

The large, enclosed garden areas provide a variety of outside space and are fully accessible for wheelchairs. The communal gardens have been designed to provide sensory stimulation and a safe haven for quiet times. Raised planters enable residents to be involved in planting and garden projects.

Catering and laundry facilities are created to provide excellent services for residents, as well as a safe and pleasant working environment for staff.

My mum-in-law came in initially for respite, but we believed even then she would become a permanent resident. The staff are very welcoming and approachable. They obviously know every resident well and show great care and compassion. They are polite and informative. My only criticism is the use of acronyms
by some of the senior staff, we are not all medically trained so do not understand them.

We are all extremely happy with the care that Mum receives at Winifred Dell, the staff are truly amazing, very kind, caring and respectful, nothing is too much trouble for them.
There are various activities for the residents to take part in if they wish to, the food is of a high standard the home is
immaculately clean and the residents' rooms are faultless.
The care team communicate any concerns such as any falls/medication/wellbeing and call me every month when they update Mum's care plan.
My mum feels happy, safe and well cared for as she was struggling to look after herself and would often forget to take her medication and would not always eat regularly.
Thank you to all the team for their kindness we are so grateful for the support you give our mum.
We would definitely recommend Winifred Dell for anybody looking for a care home if your relative is unable to receive care in their own home safely any longer it's the perfect choice.

The staff are always very helpful and polite, they always seem to know about my step mum and are keen to let me know if there are any problems, like if there's something that we need to replace. My step mum is always pleased to see them.

Having had my mother reside at Winifred Dell since June 2018, the general standards, care, support and staff have always been very good. Sadly we now know that end of life care for our late mother, who passed on 07/01/2022, was of an exceptional level with anytime access if required in a difficult Covid
period. Most comforting!

My partner, who has dementia, has been a resident since June 2021. Since then, my experience with Winifred Dell has been excellent in all areas of his care. I find it so reassuring that when I visit him, he talks about how well he is looked after by all the staff and how much he enjoys the food! I couldn't

I visit this care home every week to take Holy Communion to a resident. I find the staff very helpful and friendly, always willing to show me what to do. They take great care dealing with Covid-19 and their protection of visitors is excellent. Highly recommend this care home.

The staff in Winifred Dell continue to provide an excellent service and all staff display a commitment and an ambition for the enhancement of the wellbeing of those in their care. All residents are treated as family members and staff are always alert to their needs.
I have noticed a significant improvement
in the health and mental attitude of my resident friend since taking up residence in Winifred Dell thanks to the care and attention provided by staff.
I have found the staff extremely helpful when contacted.

The care that Dad has received has been great. The friendliness of the staff has made his stay relaxing for him and myself. Also as a wheelchair user myself, the help I have received when visiting Dad has made the visits easier and comfortable.

Large print books would be nice, I've only seen the room once but Mum likes it. Staff friendly and helpful.

Mother-in-law took a while to settle as she was used to doing things on her own. She loves staff and food, no complaints there. She loves reading, not a lot of large print books available being elderly thought this was high on list.

Home often lacking staff, activities and lack of visiting still a problem. Mum came to the home in March 2020 and I've still not been allowed in her room. Carers do their best but there's not enough of them. As all visitors have to provide a negative covid-19 test, they need to allow more visitors into
the home to improve mental health of all people in the home. Head Office has been exceptionally slow in making changes to allow more freedom and visitors in the home.

Mum had a recent stay at Winifred Dell for respite and it was most certainly the best decision. Having stayed before, the team knew mum and warmly welcomed her back. They worked incredibly hard to restore her confidence in her mobility and provided the reassurance that she needed. I cannot thank everyone
enough. Clearly, the visiting restrictions have added another dimension to life in a care facility, but I can honestly say that nothing was ever a chore and the protection of the residents, staff and visitors was paramount at all times.

We are very lucky to have Mum living at Winifred Dell. Our family know she is well cared for both for physical needs and wellbeing. We had a good experience visiting Mum a few weeks ago and we sat in the garden under the tree. On each occasion of visiting the staff are always attentive, professional

Michelle has worked in the care setting for 24 years; starting her career as a Care Assistant working with mental health for 12 years gaining qualifications in NVQ 2 and 3 also achieving her intermediate Team Leading qualification. Job Title: Home Administrator

Doina has been working in the care sector for 10 years, starting in 2012 as a Care Assistant and being promoted to Senior Carer, Team Leader and Manager by 2017.
