Winifred Dell Care Centre is a friendly and relaxed place for elderly people to live. It is registered for residential and dementia care.

It encourages residents and visiting families and friends to be fully involved in the day-to-day life of the home including activities. All visitors are welcome to join residents for meals, when possible. Above all, staff believe in a flexible person-centred approach.

The large, enclosed garden areas provide a variety of outside space and are fully accessible for wheelchairs. The communal gardens have been designed to provide sensory stimulation and a safe haven for quiet times. Raised planters enable residents to be involved in planting and garden projects.

Catering and laundry facilities are created to provide excellent services for residents, as well as a safe and pleasant working environment for staff.

A very safe, happy environment caring for very vulnerable adults. Staff show professionalism and care for the residents and myself and my family are truly grateful for that. No one wants their loved one to go into a care home but this one makes the wrench easier to manage. Highly recommended.

On each occasion when I have visited, randomly, at different times, I have found the staff to be caring and considerate to me and my mother. The facilities are clean, tidy and the decor very pleasing. Activities are optional but offered. An individual resident's birthday is always recognized by staff.
Garden access in the summer season is available. Staff find and caring.

My mother has been a resident for 5 years. She has improved health wise regularly and is in the best of physical health due to the care and attention she has received. She enjoys her meals and is encouraged to maintain her fluid levels. Over the years she has suffered a variety of falls but has always
been taken great care of and nursed back to health. Suffering from Dementia and other mental health issues doesn't make her an easy patient but she is still well-loved.

Mum went into the care home for respite following a fall, we were all a bit apprehensive at first but were made to feel very welcome when we first arrived. Apart from two incidents which were resolved, the care and the staff were excellent. If mum had to go into a care home again, we would be happy
for her to go back to Winifred Dell.

I have experience of care homes for three other close relatives in different parts of the country.
Winifred Dell is by far the best of the lot. I always notice the “smell” when I visit a care home and how clean the toilets are for visitors and residents. At Winifred Dell, there is no smell and the
place is spotless. My mother receives the best of care being well fed and the staff are amazing and caring. My sisters both comment on how excellent the care is. I would not want my mother to be anywhere else. They also put on a lot of activities for the residents that provide fond memories.

Very happy with my mother-in-law being here. Everything is great, mum is very happy here which means I am happy. The staff are great the care centre is too. Mum is looked after 24 hours a day we have nothing to fear for her safety.

Mum had a week's respite care and was very happy there. The accommodation is clean, spacious and light and airy.
The staff are cheerful, friendly and caring.
Mum is hoping to return for further respite care in the future.

After many hours of researching the various care homes in our area, Mum entered Winifred Dell, the home I wanted for her, on 10th September 2018, a care home with great reviews and only a short distance from where I live and I have to say it has lived up to my expectations. All the staff from office
and reception, seniors, care assistants, laundry and cleaning staff have all been friendly and welcoming.
There have been some difficult times with Mum settling and this is ongoing but all part and parcel of ageing and poor health that leads to losing one’s independence and having to rely on others to do things for you. I do believe that everyone is working to the best interests of the residents and there is some comfort in knowing that your loved ones are safe and looked after even though they may not always feel that way.
Overall I know this is the right place for Mum at this time in her life.

The home is both friendly and helpful.
The receptionists are helpful and try their best to help if they cannot get the unit on the phone.
The home always smells nice and always looks clean. The carers go above and beyond to help my mum. They are very kind and supportive.
The laundry leaves a lot
to be desired.
All Mum's clothes are named and still we end up with lots missing and other people's.
Mum really enjoys the food.

My mother has been very complimentary on the care she receives daily and in particular at the times when she has been poorly and in need of a doctor.


She is also much happier with the food and as she has gained weight it can't be bad. Also having a great time out and about.

Michelle has worked in the care setting for 24 years; starting her career as a Care Assistant working with mental health for 12 years gaining qualifications in NVQ 2 and 3 also achieving her intermediate Team Leading qualification.
