Mum has been a resident at Brackenfield Hall for the last ten months. When she first arrived she could not walk, had a catheter, refused to eat, wouldn't socialize, very low in her mood, and just all together miserable. Also had a few more medical issues which needed hospital admission. But now today she's a different woman thanks to all the care and attention given by the staff. She is now able to walk and chat with everyone, eat and drink independently, for toilet needs and be as independent as anyone at 91 years old can be. I cant praise the staff enough they are all fantastic thanks for giving us our Mum back.

My father was a resident at Brackenfield Hall for several months until he passed away. In that time we found the facilities there to be excellent and the staff were kind, caring and made what could have been a difficult transition for him, calm, safe and reassuring. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and professionalism and would not hesitate in recommending Brackenfield Hall to anyone considering a care home for an elderly or infirm relative.

Many thanks.

Our dad, at 93 years old was finding it more difficult to cope at home even with carers coming in. My brother decided that our dad needed to go into care. After discussion with social services, this residence came forward as one of many that we should consider. We chose the home by virtue of its proximity to our dad’s old address. What a lovely surprise when we finally took our dad in. The staff were very friendly and personable to our dad. He settled in very quickly and put weight on which is always a good sign that someone is thriving. The rooms are a good size and they have en-suite bathrooms. The home takes great care of him and his medical needs. He was always correctly dosed with his medication and he was treated with kindness and compassion. When our dad became very infirm at end of his life, the care home staff could not have been more helpful, flexible and human in their support of our dad and the family. We could not have been more pleased by the care standards here.

During a period of 3 very difficult months, my wife received considerable assistance and support from the staff involved closely with her care. These staff members were generally considerate and helpful. Furthermore, the support given to us both by the manager was invaluable in my wife eventually returning home, where she desperately wanted to be. We would have no hesitation in recommending Brackenfield Hall to anyone needing temporary or long-term care for themselves or a loved one. We are extremely grateful to the manager and all the staff for their help and understanding at a very difficult time.

Mum has settled in well considering she moved in December 2020 amidst the Covid-19 ruling. Manged to have well-organised visits adhering to all the health and safety rules. The staff have been keeping us informed of any falls mum has had and have a Facebook page where they add photos when they are having fun. Definitely will recommend this care home to anyone.

An absolutely brilliant care home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who are all lovely, caring and helpful. My father came here from a care home in Northampton. We moved him up so we could visit more regularly. He always looks so well cared for. He has settled in really well and looks better than he has in Years! I can not recommend this highly enough.

Mum entered the care home straight from hospital after a fall. I chose the home for her after speaking to the manager on the phone. We have been pleased with the care mum has received and facilities. I was able to enter the home recently after 8 months and was very impressed by her room and the general cleanliness of the home. We have been very glad to see the videos posted on FB and the zoom meetings with staff.

Mum was given emergency accommodation due to worsening problems with her memory. This was in January 21 and since then we have seen a slow deterioration in her own mental capacity, but her health has improved and her general appearance overall. This is down to the care offered by all of the staff and the fact that she is eating freshly prepared food. This high level of attention towards my mum has allowed me to feel far more relaxed, knowing she is in a safe and healthy environment.

I along with other members of the family are now able to safely visit mum in the tearoom and also take her out to visit my dogs, who I believe she adores regardless of any memory issues. She always asks after them on our visits.

My Mum was made welcome and straightaway encouraged to join in with the other residents in the social areas. Mum finds it difficult to be on her own so the whole environment and social ethos of the care home was ideal for her. Mum has had a couple of falls during the past six months in the care home and the staff were diligent in looking after her and notifying me of what had happened and the action taken. As a family, we have found the staff most helpful over the telephone, keeping us in touch with Mum and dealing with our queries etc. We enjoy following the updates on their activities and the lovely photos when they are candidly ‘caught on camera’. So far, I’ve been invited to join one Relatives Meeting via Skype, which was informative and told us in more detail about progress during COVID, visits and intentions once things open up again. Hopefully, there may be another such meeting soon. Mum tells us she finds living there comfortable and everyone and everything is lovely.

My Uncle went into Brackenfield in August, he settled in well even though we couldn't get to see him because of lockdown, my auntie has rung frequently and they always let him talk to her which cheers them both up. It's very clean and the staff are lovely can't do enough for you, my auntie is always praising them and thinks there marvellous how they look after my uncle. Recently she has started going into his room and has told me it's beautiful.

My mum has lived at Brackenfield for almost 4 years and I have nothing but praise for the team and the home and its facilities. It’s been a very challenging year for everyone, especially those living and working in care homes and the team at Brackenfield have been superb! My mum is happy and very well cared for, with good activities available and consideration given to individual needs and preferences. Recent refurbishments have improved the overall appearance of the home in general, and my mum's room is just lovely. It’s very well presented and is homely and comfortable. Throughout the COVID crisis, I feel I have been able to contact the home at any time for updates and discussion about my mum, and the relatives zoom meetings have been really useful. Staff have worked so hard to ensure residents have not been isolated, or put in danger, I can’t thank them enough for that, it’s been very reassuring during a very worrying time.

I am so grateful my mum lives here.

Mum went into Brackenfield Hall 2 years ago. She has been very happy there and the care is suburb. Our family know she is being well cared for so we are happy too. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, en-suite facilities are well designed. The lounge/dining areas are bright and well furnished. Beautiful garden space with safe areas to take short walks and nice seating areas. All the staff are so helpful, friendly and professional.

My experience with the home is absolutely brilliant. The care my mum has had has been unbelievable. The staff have been amazing, they ring you straight away if there are any problems. We can ring any time, day or evening and the staff are always pleasant, reassuring and definitely put your mind at ease. Myself and my family cannot thank them enough for taking care of our mum at the most difficult time that we have all had to put up with. They have kept us informed by Skype of all government changes. All our family would like to say a massive massive thank you to all staff involved for taking care of our precious mum/nan/ great nan, it definitely means a lot.

Mum moved into Brackenfield Hall in October 2020 and has had good care throughout her stay. The residents have remained Covid free which, a fine testament to the manager and the team. All now received their second vaccination. It is lovely to see photos and videos on Facebook with lots of happy smiling faces. My sister and I phone on alternate days and receive a welcome from the staff and a quick update on what’s happening generally, and sometimes specifically if asked. I’ve had several chats on the phone with the manager who is keen to support the whole family. I have never been inside the home as I live away and there’s always been some Covid restrictions but recently had a tea room visit which was fantastic, really uplifting for Mum and me. Mum loves the food, especially the home made soup. A platter of sliced fruit is readily available for residents who may not like to tackle a whole piece of fruit. Every important date is celebrated with painting or craft. ‘Dottie’ the little dog visits and is loved

I cannot recommend Brackenfield Hall Care Home highly enough. My mother-in-law has dementia and Alzheimer's, and as they specialize in these areas of care, they were recommended to us. She moved in last January, but not long after she settled in, Covid hit. Brackenfield have allowed weekly visiting. When government guidelines allow, which is really appreciated. The fact they have been Covid-free during the global pandemic is also a great comfort. The home is managed really well, with separate living areas depending on the needs of the residents and they have regular activities, which have continued during the lockdown. They post regular photos and videos on Facebook. Seeing my mother-in-law and the other residents happy and smiling is lovely to see. We phone her daily, and the staff are so kind and considerate, nothing is too much trouble. A big thank you to the manager and the team!
