Outstanding care of my father. Nothing is too much trouble.
All the staff are lovely but a member of staff in particular always goes that extra mile.

So reassuring knowing that dad is well looked after. They organised a lovely 102nd birthday party for him today.

We did not receive a care plan until the third week of a four week stay. His participation in the activities was sporadic to say the least. He was not helped to participate - he needed a wheelchair to get to the right floor for the activities. My husband is taking part in a clinical trial of a drug - it was not at all clear that this was happening. The paperwork which the home agreed to fill in was not completed. My husband was eligible for NHS funded nursing care. This was ascertained without my knowledge and the money was taken by the home and not deducted from the fees. Some of his clothes went missing and still have not been returned to me after they were subsequently found.

Cambridge Manor Care Home provides a clean and safe environment with caring staff who have a positive attitude and respond to my mother's needs in a sensitive and timely manner. She enjoys the many activities provided and benefitted from the company of other residents in the informal seating areas and much appreciated garden. There's a good choice of foods which cater for mother's likes and dislikes. My mother has settled in well despite her initial reservations and feels a real sense of community.

Staff very friendly and helpful. In particular they have made a great effort to make my family member settle, feel safe and cared for. He is encouraged to join in all the activities. As a person with young Alzheimer's disease, he needs support with daily activities and the staff are making every effort to ensure he feels understood.

It is a relief to see how he is settling and reassuring that he is getting such good care.

Our mother has been receiving excellent nursing care at this fabulous nursing home for over a year. At all times, family have felt welcomed and well-informed, including phone calls if her condition changes or if there is a change in her medication. We visit each day and staff always have a smile on their face and time to discuss day-to-day concerns. The wards are spotlessly clean and the meals are fresh and nutritious. We are so grateful for the kindness staff have shown our mother at her greatest time of need. We cannot recommend this care home highly enough.

My husband was only in your care for just over two months, but my family and I were all so grateful for the care given to him at that time.
In spite of his dementia, he seemed to feel safe and mostly happy.
We were very impressed by the good communication between all members of the team and by the number of staff at all times.
In the last few days before he died, the gentle care given to my husband and all his family was wonderful.

Thank you all so very much.

Our family are grateful to The Manor Care Home staff for looking after our 93-year-old mother with genuine kindness and care in her final stages of life. They listened to our concerns as well as respecting our mother’s own wishes, keeping us well informed at every stage. Our mother suffered at the end but we felt confident that everything was being done to help keep her comfortable and peaceful. We’ll always be grateful too that the environment was maintained to a high standard making visits comfortable and uplifting especially at sad and depressing times. The beautiful homemade cakes in the cafe, the garden and flowers on tables showed value and care for both the residents and their families. A friendly greeting from the receptionist on arrival was also greatly appreciated, especially after a difficult journey and during emotional times. We’ll always be grateful for everything you did for us, leaving good memories of the time spent at the care home.

I have already written a positive review of The Manor Care Home, Cambridge.

This one relates to the excellent care they gave my husband in the months before October 2023 when his advanced Parkinson's became too much and he died. Throughout his two years in the Manor my husband was treated with care and kindness and every effort was made to preserve his dignity. Even though he was at the end of a long and at times painful illness my husband managed to appreciate his time in the Manor and was fond of his carers. His death was handled with kindness and compassion. Staff attended his funeral. I have shown my appreciation of this care home by continuing to run a monthly book club which seems much enjoyed by residents.
