Our mother was becoming increasingly muddled with everyday life and physically struggling to cope. Following the death of her husband, she felt she needed to have increased support and care. Luckily Manor Care Home were able to offer her a room and we helped move her in the day before Coronavirus lockdown.
Sadly, but rightly, we have not been able to visit her in the home but speak to her regularly. At last, she has regular tasty meals with a glass of wine if she likes, she has company and a safe but lovely garden to enjoy. We are relieved and delighted she is experiencing such a four-star service, it does not bear thinking what would have happened to her had she stayed isolated in her home miles from anywhere with no-one close at hand to help. Thank you to all the caring staff for their patience and care of all the residents, how lucky we are to have such kind dedicated people looking after our elderly!

Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so glad that we were able to support you in such a difficult time for you and for Mum. She has been through so much and we are so happy to see her thriving at Cambridge Manor - surrounded by friends and enjoying the homely environment. I noticed that you haven't scored the activities, I can assure you that Mum participates in a wide rage of activities throughout the day and she is a formidable domino player! I will send you information on how to access Mum's Care Plan which outlines what she does on a day-to-day basis including the activities, food and drink and so on. Some relatives are interested in this and some not - it's completely up to you and Mum (if she is happy for you to have this). We so enjoy having Mum with us and are looking forward to the time when you and your family can join us in the gardens for a cup of tea.

My mum has deteriorated over the last twelve months but since she is 99 this is hardly surprising. She has been expertly cared for by all the staff at the Manor who all exhibit astonishing levels of patience and understanding. The daily activities are all very varied and there are regular visits from
a young man who arrives with a range of animals to be passed around which is always a favourite. A weekly visit by a group of children from the local nursery school is also a big hit. There is a lovely garden which includes hens. The kitchen caters for all tastes and the dining room has flowers on all the tables and proper napkins. Little touches that make such a difference. The laundry does a brilliant job including labelling everything which is a great bonus and ensures clothes are delivered to the rightful owners.

Thank you for your kind words. I am so glad that you and your Mum enjoy the little touches which make Cambridge Manor special. We try to go above and beyond to ensure that the home is well-cared for and offers a 5-star service, whilst also making sure it feels homely and loved. The team are passionate about the service they offer and will be thrilled to read your kind comments on their work. The animals are a big hit with all of us and we will be sure to get them in again as soon as we are able. We miss your visits and so hope that you can join Mum and us for dinner again soon.

My mother has been in Cambridge Manor for three years and at nearly 102, is their oldest resident. My family and I have been truly grateful for the excellent care she and we, have always received. All staff are friendly and helpful and enable my mother to live an active and dignified life. She attends
the many activities on offer and is always beautifully cared for. It’s the little caring things that show they go the extra mile like stapling her newspaper so she doesn’t lose the pages when she’s reading it. Importantly, she says she is very happy and feels secure and confident. We, her family, have always valued not only her care but excellent communication. Any queries have been quickly addressed and we have always felt that there is a partnership in ensuring the best for her. There is definitely an ongoing two-way communication. This has continued through this difficult time of lockdown. So, our ongoing thanks to Cambridge Manor for looking after Mum so well.

She really is a pillar of the community here at Cambridge Manor and we love having her and you, as part of our Cambridge Manor Family. Being 102 does have its challenges - and top of our Wellbeing's priority list is to ensure that she is included in all of the activities, as we know how much she enjoys them. We are so glad to hear that you are happy with our level of communication - we do everything we can to ensure that we communicate quickly and effectively in accordance with our values of Truth, Love and Compassion. Thank you.

On 31st October 2019 (Halloween), having just come from visiting two friends in another Cambridge care home, I visited a friend in Cambridge Manor Care Home. The difference between the two homes was extraordinary Cambridge Manor Care Home is beautifully decorated, warm, vibrant and hugely welcoming,
the other felt desolate by comparison.
At Cambridge Manor Care Home the staff had paid enormous attention to the ambience and setting the environment which made residents and visitors feel cherished.
My friend loved being in Cambridge Manor Care Home and particularly loved all the events. The BIG, HUGE extra mile you go to had a profound effect on her happiness and should never be underestimated.
Thank you.

My father has been here for over a year now. Once his needs had been addressed the care has been excellent. All staff are happy and friendly and will act on requests. Any problems have been dealt with quickly and efficiently. Management and staff put residents needs first and are always looking to improve
and offer more enrichment. My father feels safe and looked after. I like that relatives are involved in activities and welcomed to join.
Reply from Maria-Grace Smith, Community Developement Manager at Cambridge Manor Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are thrilled that your father feels safe and looked after in our care. We always put our residents' needs first and we are glad this has been reflected in your experience. Relatives and friends are welcome at Cambridge Manor and we appreciate your contribution to our activities and meetings. We welcome feedback and suggestions always on how we may improve our services and it is so valuable to us to have families who contribute to this.
If you would like to arrange a time to discuss Dad's restrictive diet with Chef then he would welcome this. He has recently updated a new range of diabetic desserts and snacks to try and tempt him!
We really love having your dad and your family as part of ours. The team and I will continue to work hard to ensure that he, and all of our residents, enjoy all aspects of our home.
With TLC from all at Cambridge Manor.

Had visited the home previously for care after a hip operation, however this was postponed by the hospital and I was admitted as an emergency. The care has been very good, I have a pleasant room of my own with an essential walk-in shower and toilet. The staff are kindness itself and help me whenever
required. I particularly enjoyed the 'resident of the day' (related to the date and my room number and have had many staff visit us).

My wife moved into Cambridge Manor in July, following a prolonged stay. Her survival was rated very low; she suffers from advanced Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. After ten weeks of exceptional care, attention and affection her life is no longer at immediate risk. Medication, so critical with Parkinson's,
is always delivered on time. The staff all have a genuine desire to provide dignified and person-centred care in a loving way.
The facilities are very clean, the communal areas comfortable and welcoming. Her room is her domain and is personalised with items important to her. Food is varied, plentiful and appetising. The garden is neat tidy and recently enhanced, by the addition of chickens.
The management team are always around and very approachable. Whilst I visit daily, I have complete confidence in the team if I am unable to visit.
The family and I, couldn't wish for better.

In the short time that dad has been in Cambridge Manor, the care has been exceptional. I have been at the home for 2 years. I really like the staff and I cannot think of anyone I have a problem with, they treat me very well. I don't have to rely on them too much but when I do they are always there. My room is beautiful overlooking the garden. My daughter spent a lot of time looking for

Mum went to Cambridge Manor Care Home beginning of August for 6 weeks respite care after falling twice at home and being admitted to hospital.
She has Parkinson’s so now has very limited mobility.
All the staff at the Manor were very patient, kind, understanding and accommodating to her needs and
ours alike.
She really likes her room and the food which was always beautifully presented in the dining room.
The floor surface and corridor walkways were very patient-friendly for her to be able to walk up and down with her walker once she regained her confidence.
Her time with Cambridge Manor was as good as we could have hoped for and my sister and I are very grateful.

Mum had lived at 'Cambridge Manor' since 2011 when her declining physical condition had forced her out of her own house. She was very demoralised but the room in Cambridge Manor had space for some of her furniture and soon she had a new lease of life. It really did become her home. Always independent,
Cambridge Manor let her stay that way, only joining in socially when she wanted to do so and respecting it when she wanted to read or write in her own room, or to book a taxi and go off to church or elsewhere. Staff were there, of course, and helped where this was needed. They always had a friendly word for us too.
When in November 2018 Mum's health deteriorated the staff kept us informed and increased their level of care. We were asked to come to be with Mum and were with her for her last eight days. Cambridge Manor's staff were brilliant with Mum and worked hard and successfully to balance the medication for pain relief. They nursed and cared for her but did so much to support us too at this difficult time. Well done Cambridge Manor and thank you!

My mother moved into Cambridge Manor in 2011 and was there until she died in late November 2018. We were always impressed by the cleanliness of the place, the airiness, and the friendly, helpful staff. The menus offered plenty of healthy, tasty, options.

Although my mother obviously wasn’t the

easiest resident, she clearly received the best possible care and in a timely manner. Having a fully functioning mind in a less than fully functioning body led to numerous frustrations for her that at times were clearly taken out, undeservedly so, on the staff. Despite this, they were caring, considerate and professional throughout.

We were impressed by the facility in my mother’s final weeks. She received constant monitoring and treatment for pain, and her end was very peaceful. As family, we were welcomed by the staff and kept fully informed of the situation. We were never made to feel in the way, and after her death, we had plenty of time to clear out the room.

My mother-in-law spent her last 7 years in Cambridge Manor, dying in late November 2018. She commented from the very earliest days just how nice it was to be there, like living in a hotel, with none of the trials and tribulations of her last few years of living alone. Formerly a keen gardener, she
particularly liked being able to look out on the garden from her room. Her intelligence and keen mind shone through, sadly at times to the detriment of the staff since she always spoke her mind! Fortunately, the staff remained caring and professional.

I have a keen nose, and the facility always smelt clean and fresh as indeed it was. My mother-in-law was not always 100% happy with the food, although to us the meals looked very good and inviting.

We were very impressed by the level of care she received during her final days; the staff was also very attentive to our needs. After her death, we were given plenty of time to clear her room and received help along the way in that process.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 89 registered maximum number of service users is 17.8, which has been reached with 76 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
