Mum has been in memory care at Rivermere for about 18 months. Things haven’t been easy during this time with the pandemic.
However, the team at Rivermere have done incredibly well keeping her safe. Often working with limited resources and having to do a variety of jobs outside their day jobs.
Being able to now go in and see mum is a real relief.
Thank you to all the team for the continued care during this difficult time.

The surroundings are well kept and inside is like a hotel with spacious rooms.

Seeing Mum each week has been great. I can see that the staff have ensured Mum is always clean and dressed nicely with her hair freshly brushed and styled before being brought down to the visitor's room.
Mum has been extremely happy with no moans and groans. This tells me that she is being treated well and having some interaction with staff who I know love her very much.

It is hard to be reassured when you cannot go and see her on her floor with the staff but I know her well enough and the signs of poor care.

Very good generally, particularly the Covid liaison staff for relatives and the activities staff. Not has any face to face contact with anyone else in 15 months so difficult to comment. Not been inside the home either so cannot comment. Still too expensive.

We had looked at many other care homes before we found Rivermere and were struck immediately by the beautiful surroundings. We hoped that as well as the excellent facilities the staff would be just as good and they certainly have been. My father was made to feel so welcome and loves his room. He has been joining in all the activities which is fantastic as he had been on his own before moving in. As a family, we feel confident and happy that Dad is being well looked after in such a lovely place.

After having Mum living with us for fifteen years it was very difficult for me being an only child, to make sure I found her the right care home. With Rivermere I couldn’t have wished for anything better. I had spent a long and stressful weekend searching for the right one, and not been able to go inside was very hard. When reviewing Rivermere I was met with people who cared and certainly understood how difficult it was for relatives having to make the decision for their parent during the lockdown. I would like to say thank you to the whole team at Rivermere for the care you continue to give Mum.

Amazing home, the carers are brilliant and really have all of the residents best interests at heart. Food quality is very high and activities are very stimulating for the residents. I wouldn't have used any other home! Very high quality all around and felt like a home from home!

Mum became a resident at Rivermere earlier this year; after numerous virtual tours of homes locally, most I might add with excellent reviews, I enquired at Rivermere. At an extremely stressful time for both my family and my mum, I found this to be the only home providing her (and us) with reassurance and understanding alongside the appropriate care she requires. Having only met the team virtually, I felt a sense of professionalism and gentility which was enormously reassuring. It helped to be in touch with the same people each time and every effort was made for the smooth transition to her new home, indeed these same people met us at the entrance to escort mum into her new safe and caring environment. This same team have provided us with continuity and news regularly whilst she struggles with her illness during this difficult period of lockdown. All the while we have been reassured and supported, feel involved and engaged with her and her care. Highly recommend.

Although due to the lockdown, I have not been able to see my dad or his room yet, the care team have been more than helpful sending me pictures and taking in his belongings when I deliver it. Every staff member I have spoken to is really friendly and more than helpful, they give you the feeling they really like their job and are there because they want to be not because they have to be. It makes a massive difference to know Dad is being cared for and an amazing home with lovely staff. Thank you to everyone at Rivermere for what you do, especially during these unprecedented times, you are all doing an amazing job.

My father has now been at Rivermere for just over 12 months, having moved from another local care home. Although his dementia has deteriorated in this time he is happy and enjoying life. I can't praise the staff enough for what they do for Dad. They clearly enjoy their work as each and every member of the team has built a caring and trusting relationship with him. The management has been proactive with regard to his ongoing needs and communication is excellent at all times. There are no words to describe how grateful I am to have him in such a wonderful and safe environment.

I had a very comfortable room on 1st floor, near activities. It was well cared for. I found the staff all very pleasant and helpful. I participated in most of the activities and the various quizzes. The entertainment staff got the residents to get to know each other.
On the whole, the meals were enjoyable and varied with choices. The evening entertainment was lively and got everyone singing. The gardens are beautiful, I enjoyed walking around them and sat in the sun. The outing in the minibus touring Kent countryside excellent.

I would come again for respite, not ready for full-time care yet!

I have visited a friend on a number of occasions and each time it has been a joy to visit. The interior of the home is beautiful and most welcoming and the staff very efficient and friendly and when I have had lunch with my friend, the food has been of a high standard of quality. To sum it up in a nutshell, I would say who wouldn't want to spend their twilight years here - I know I would in a heartbeat! Congratulations Rivermere on getting the recipe absolutely right.
