Rivermere Care Home was taken over by Avery Healthcare at the start of 2017, and the new management has quickly set about transforming the fortunes of the home. Rivermere provides residential, respite and dementia care.

The home also welcomes couples and friends who wish to live together.

Situated close to the town of Sevenoaks, the home has been brought into line with the group's overarching care philosophy.

Nestled within a picturesque landscape, the home provides person-centred care for older people and those with dementia and its associated conditions.

Residents are encouraged to take full advantage of the home's facilities which are available to them daily. These include cosy lounges and bistro areas which create the perfect social environment, a beauty salon where residents can treat themselves to a haircut or nail treatment, a well-stocked library to indulge into a book or alternatively a cinema room to a catch a film in. The well-being team host regular activities in the activities lounge where all residents are encouraged to take part.

My dad has been happy since living at Rivermere and staff have always been friendly and caring. The staff are helpful and respectful towards my dad. My dad specifically thinks the activities on offer are well managed. The communal areas are well kept and there is lots of space for my dad's grandchildren
to play when they visit.

Rivermere Care Home is an amazing place. All the staff are friendly caring and professional, there is always a welcome smile for residents and relatives. The staff are genuinely caring and concerned about the comfort and happiness of all the residents. There are frequent trips out all carefully thought
out to provide a pleasant experience for everybody, there are daily classes providing stimulation and often resulting in fun and laughter.
The level of cleanliness is unbeatable, the rooms are beautiful and the food excellent. The staff offer support and go out of their way to reassure relatives and are happy to help in any way they can. During the first weeks of my mothers stay staff would often ring me in the evening to reassure me that mum was quite settled and chatting to residents, I was so pleased and really appreciated this kind gesture typical of the whole ethos of Rivermere.

I visited with a friend whose grandmother is a resident at the home. The home is warm and friendly and there was a great sense of family approach. The staff were kind and caring and all the residents appeared to be happy. We were invited to join my friend's grandmother for afternoon tea and this was
a selection of homemade cakes that were delicious.

My brother has been a resident for 3 months and has settled very well. He has dementia and as his sister, I act as an advocate for his well-being as he is not always able to explain his needs. Staff have all demonstrated kindness and understanding towards him and a friendly and helpful approach towards
me and other family members.


In spite of being in the throes of a major refurbishment, everyone is always welcoming and staff will always respond cheerfully to queries and requests. He enjoys the meals and the company at mealtimes, though it is always possible for residents to have room service. When the refurbishment is complete the environment and amenities should be ideal.

My mother had dementia and was moved by the management (with a number of other residents) when Sunrise of Sevenoaks received an unfavourable Quality Commission Assessment. Since leaving Sunrise, she has thrived at a new care home. She has put on weight and is SO much better looked after by the staff
at her new care home. When we first went to Sunrise, there was a good senior management, but over the 3 years she was there, those staff left and the care standards dropped significantly. Do your homework before you use this care home and do not be hoodwinked by the 5* comfort, which is no good without the professional care of staff.

Everything is good for my mother who obviously at 94 years old, goes up and down. I get good amount of confidence from the staff here. I ask for water checks if i thing she needs one and it gets done, sometimes before I ask it has been done. I am very pleased that my mother is in this home.

My mother moved into Sunrise living in October and after an initial settling period has improved no end.
She has dementia, but has lost a lot of the anxiety. This has decreased and she is making friends and joining in activities which I never thought would happen. The care, facilities and treatment

I have been a member of the management team at Avery Healthcare since June 2024 and possess fifteen years of extensive experience in the healthcare sector, encompassing both hands-on and leadership roles. My qualifications include degrees in Health and Social Care Management, along with numerous academic awards in leadership. My primary focus is on maintaining fundamental standards and driving continuous quality improvement, supported by a proven track record in strategic implementation.


I am deeply committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive service culture that enhances the outcomes for residents. Hi, I'm Amy and I am the Residential Care Manager at Rivermere Care Home.
I have been in the Health and Social Care sector since 2010 and have worked in many roles, including Health Care Assistant, Care Co-ordinator, Night Senior Carer and finally Residential Care Manager.
I manage the day-to-day running of the care team on the residential floors and pride myself on a hands-on approach to help create a good work ethic amongst the team and build good relationships between the care staff and our residents.
I would describe myself as hardworking, enthusiastic and passionate about ensuring we are providing the best care possible. Every resident is treated like an extended member of our family here at Rivermere.
