Watching my aunt in this wonderful environment has been so reassuring. She has blossomed thanks to the staff, food and activities at Rivermere. Save me a room!
Thank you for taking the time to review Rivermere Care Home and for your amazing 5-star rating. We are delighted to hear such positive feedback about our community and the fact that your aunt has blossomed since living with us. It is a true pleasure to care for her in the loving care community that...
Mum had a good week at Rivermere. The staff were so lovely and made her feel welcome. Her only issue is dinner is served too early which we appreciate suits other residents. Also, there is no one around at the weekends and no activities which did upset her. She said she has assisted someone on Saturday as no one was around. She really enjoyed the activity today (Tuesday) and the outing to the garden centre last week.
Thank you for your feedback, we are so glad your mum had a good week here at Rivermere. It was a pleasure to have her stay with us. Our serving times are set for hot dinners; however, we understand some residents may like a later meal. In these cases, we also offer sandwiches which can be made...

Rivermere is an excellent care home with outstanding staff and good facilities. However several years of operating with reduced staffing levels have left a mark and the strain is particularly evident in the activities, catering and housekeeping areas. Taking account of the high fees paid by residents there is lost ground to be recovered.
Thank you for your review and your positive comments regarding the staff and facilities at Rivermere. As you are aware, the past two years have been severely impacted by the Pandemic and our staffing is regularly reviewed in line with occupancy and the restrictions that apply to care homes...
I cannot fault the care, kindness and consideration, from all the staff, shown to me during my two-week stay. The food has been exceptional and always well presented. I was sad I was unable to meet my visitors in the garden, but understand it was Covid rules!
Thank you for taking the time to review Rivermere Care Home. We are delighted to hear how happy you were with your respite stay in our home and that the choice of tasty meals prepared by our talented culinary team are so well received. You are welcome back to stay with us in the loving care...
I feel like my mum is staying in a high-quality boutique hotel. The lounge and bistro are excellent, as is my mum's room. The staff are excellent. I was so concerned about my mum going into a home, but I am so happy, and she is definitely happy there. I would highly recommend Rivermere.

My dad has Alzheimer’s. With my mum’s health deteriorating it meant she could no longer care for him at their home of 59 years together. As soon as my sister and I saw Rivermere we were immediately aware of its warm, caring and homely environment. Well organised and professionally run but at the same time great focus on accommodating individual resident's needs and how life can continue to be happy and stimulating day to day. The staff are well trained, really attentive, interactive and friendly. It has been a very difficult time to start the journey of finding the right home during Covid restrictions but Rivermere made the process simple and less stressful. Our dad was made to feel so welcome, comfortable and safe from the moment he arrived. He has settled in really well. We are much more confident it was the right decision and relieved of the constant worry now that he is there.

She requested respite so my husband and I visited the home and were very impressed with the Customer Service Manager's details to providing in-depth information, life in the home, the great facilities and lovely rooms, garden, dining area, lounge.
The carers are all very friendly, helpful, and caring, cheered my mum up with chats.
The food choice is of great quality and my mum soon started to enjoy her food and put weight on. At first, she ate in her room but was gradually encouraged to attend the dining room where she got to chat with other residents. My mum also started attending activities and thoroughly enjoyed them. Her mobility improved, her mood and appetite.
She was there 4 weeks and says hand on heart it was the best thing she could have done to improve her all round mood and needs.
All family members that visited were very pleased with the care.

My mother is a resident in Rivermere care home. The staff do a lot for her by way of organising events such as sing-songs, quizzes, scrabble events etc but, as she has dementia, she has no recollection of these events when I see her. However, she is always happy when I see her either in a covid-proof "pod" or via a video link. To know that she is safe, warm and well fed is a comfort to the family.

Despite the problems with the pandemic my husband has settled in and connects well with the staff who are practical, kind, and friendly. I have confidence in his continuing care and look forward to a time when I can come and go as in normal times.

We are delighted to hear how well your grandfather has settled into our loving, care community and it is a pleasure to have him living with us here. Best Wishes.
We are happy with Rivermere. The staff, in particular, are a great asset to your company; caring, cheerful and professional people, and my mum is always smiling when she sees them. It's been difficult to judge this year because, for the majority of 2020/2021, Rivermere has been in lockdown or restricted access for relatives, so we are unable to see our family member under normal circumstances, enjoying the facilities.
Thank you for taking the time to review Rivermere Care Home. We are delighted to hear how satisfied you are with our home. Our highly trained staff team go above the standards daily to create a warm and welcoming community whilst providing an exceptional level of care for all residents. Although...

Meet the Team (4)

I have over 30 years’ experience in the healthcare sector, having started as a care assistant, becoming a nurse and working my way to management. This has led me to gain a vast amount of experience through my career, which helps support our residents’ needs, ensuring a person-centred approach is provided to all.

Hi, my name is Katie, and I am the Dementia care manager at Rivermere Care Home.
I have been at Rivermere for nearly 5 years and have worked in many different roles, from housekeeper, care assistant, senior care assistant, to care manager.
I oversee the day-to-day running of the Dementia floor to ensure it runs smoothly, and residents have everything they need or would like. I work with my team to create a positive atmosphere and help build relationships between staff and residents. I have a passion for learning more about dementia as new research comes out, and I enjoy passing this knowledge on to my team. I strive to make the floor feel like a home and a family for residents, staff and visitors.
Outside of work, I enjoy going on dog walks with my partner and spending time with my family, especially my nephews.

Rivermere. I've been here fourteen years, and I enjoy getting to know all the residents and their families.
My interests are:
walking, horse-riding, and dancing. I have 4 Grandchildren who keep me young.
I love getting to know new people and look forward to meeting you.

Hi, my name is Elaine, and I am the Well-being & Activities Coordinator at Rivermere. I have worked here since January 2025, having previously worked at Edenbridge Manor as a Well-being & Activities assistant. I love my job and enjoy seeing our residents enjoying themselves in whichever activity they decide to join. I make it my mission every day to make people smile.
Outside of work, I have 2 grown-up children and a gorgeous granddaughter whom I love spending time with and spoiling. I also love music, light gardening, seeing my friends and crafting.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know new residents and welcoming them to Rivermere.
