The staff at Acacia continue to look after Mum well even though she has been very poorly, getting her up when they can and otherwise looking after her in bed. The staff are kind and caring and keep us informed when we visit and, if necessary, between visits by telephone.

I simply wanted my mother to have care and be treated with respect but I got so much more. At Acacia Lodge staff understand that elderly residents are individuals, had full lives and need patience to help them adjust to being reliant on others now. My mother has seen the doctor, nurses, chiropodist, hairdresser, visually impaired coordinator, has had checkups, plays scrabble and bingo plus more and uses the minibus. Acacia Lodge is well run and staff are held accountable. Mum is not shut away in her room. Doors are open, staff are visible, a cleaner is always around; it is a sociable floor. Nothing seems too much trouble when you ask at reception.

I have a good relationship with the staff at Acacia Lodge.
My relative is well cared for and any concerns I have expressed have been dealt with promptly.
On my relative's birthday, I was invited to attend the care home and have lunch with her. It was a lovely experience, made more special as the staff had made sure my relative's Christmas tablecloth was in place on our table.
She recently had her vision tested by a dementia-friendly visiting Optician company. The service was excellent however it did take a long while to arrange, despite being told her name was on a waiting list.

Generally, I am very pleased with the care my relative receives.

My mother who has PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) has been a resident at Acacia Lodge for over 12 months, over this time my mother has slowly got more and more frail, but I believe she is content staying at Acacia Lodge.

Mum was in two minds about moving into a care home and needed a little while to settle in. But after a month or two I can see that she absolutely loves everyone that looks after her. So much so that she says they feel like family. Everyone I have come into contact with is so friendly and genuinely cares that my mum is well looked after and happy. She really enjoys the food there and loves a giggle with the staff. There are also sometimes quizzes/bingo/singers which she really enjoys and family are often invited to come along too. It is nice to have peace of mind that Mum is being looked after and is happy.

My husband has been looked after with care and compassion every day since he moved into the care home. When he could communicate, he used often to thank the staff for the help they were giving him. But now that he cannot communicate, and is unable to do anything for himself, he is obviously content, and for this, I am most grateful.

Acacia Lodge has been great for my mum from day 1. I was worried and unsure, as I promised her I would never put her in a care home, this will haunt me forever as I had no choice in the end. The staff are amazing and care for Mum exceptionally well. The activities are brilliant and a lot of thought and time goes into all of them. Mum is very settled, happy and I’m so glad I chose Acacia for Mum to enjoy life with so many other people and great surroundings within the home. I would highly recommend this care home, which is run exceptionally well.

As always, when I visit my mother, the staff are welcoming. It is a busy floor and must be challenging at times, but it always feels calm and happy, and the residents appear well cared for and content. Immediately prior to my mum becoming a resident in September 2022, I found the manager to be incredibly helpful with a very positive attitude. She guided me through the process of moving my mum from independent living to the care home. The home feels like a family environment and every effort is made to accommodate residents' quirks and individual traits.

My aunt has been happy and settled from the moment she arrived. The staff are friendly, helpful and caring. My uncle visits every day, and the staff could not be more welcoming. I would like there to be more activities for residents. There have been some opportunities for trips out in the minibus, but hopefully, more can be arranged. I would also like more physical exercises to be made available to residents. Daily exercise is very important to my mum as she has always been very active. The care home could have regular armchair sessions and additional physical activities for more capable residents.

Mum was admitted to Acacia Lodge in May 2022 following hospital discharge after a fall at home and breaking her hip. Right from the start she was made to feel welcome and every assistance was given to help her settle in. She feels safe, loves her room and says 'they have a great laugh'. Family worries have reduced greatly and a visit to Mum these days is a pleasure. The staff are caring, attentive and approachable. The manager responds quickly to any queries and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend.

In 2015, I became the Registered Manager at Acacia Lodge, and it has been a fulfilling journey ever since.

I love heading up our dedicated team, where each member goes above and beyond daily to deliver outstanding care to our residents. The camaraderie among the staff is truly inspiring, and we work collaboratively to ensure that every resident feels valued and cared for.
