The staff were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure everything was ok for the patient and myself- they listened to his problems with the food and changed things to please him- very well looked after and the manager listened to all of the requests and made sure everything
was seen to.
Reply from Marie Bannister, Manager at Sutton Court Care CentreThank you for your lovely feedback and 5-star review. We are so pleased to hear that you and your brother felt well supported and listened to during his stay with us.

My Grandfather was transferred to Sutton Court from hospice with a prognosis of weeks and we ended up having another 7 months with him. The team do a wonderful job and as much as they supported our relative, they also supported us right up to the end. The communication was excellent, we were able to
stay with him until his last breath. He had negative experiences prior to this with community and residential care, we are so grateful that he had such a positive experience here in his final months. He had capacity til the end and would tell the staff he loved them, those who shared faith prayed with him, even those that didn't did sweet things such as bringing him a rosary back from their holiday. Marie, the team and the community services that visit all work brilliantly together and welcome collaboration with families to solve any issues. I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend to others.
Reply from Marie Bannister, Manager at Sutton Court Care CentreThank you so much for your heartfelt review and for sharing your family's experience. We are truly honoured to have cared for your grandfather during his final months and are pleased that he felt so supported, respected, and cared for throughout his stay.
Your kind words about our team, communication, compassion, and collaboration with families mean a great deal to us. It is especially touching to hear how much the staff meant to your grandfather and your family during such an important time. We will proudly share your feedback with the whole team. Thank you again for your trust, recommendation, and support.

A very good care home recommended by my local ASC team in Sutton. Environment generally v good, always clean and smart. Staff almost always very caring, some exceptional. Management very good. Activities team excellent, so caring. Trips out very limited during mums time there which was a downside. Physio
opportunities appeared limited- staff member very good but probably overstretched. Organised activities such as Christmas, various religious days etc- lots of effort from all staff. Mum's room a bit small but had everything needed and v close to staff, staff always called if an issue/ to report health etc and could speak to mum at any time. Very compassionate at time of mum's death.
Reply from Marie Bannister, Manager at Sutton Court Care CentreThank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We are pleased to hear that you found our home clean, caring, and supportive, and that the team provided compassionate care to your mum throughout her stay, especially at such an important time for your family.
Your kind comments about our staff, management, and activities team are greatly appreciated and will be shared with everyone. We also value your constructive feedback regarding trips out, physiotherapy opportunities, and room size, as this helps us continue to improve the experience for our residents and families. Thank you again for your support and recommendation.

My mum resided at Sutton Court Care Centre for nearly 3 years before she sadly passed away. Putting mum into a care home was one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make. But my mum's alzheimer's was progressing and she needed 24 hour supervision/care which I was not in a position to provide,
so it was important to find somewhere that met my mum's needs and my own. I needed to know that she was being cared for properly, that those caring for her would be kind, patient and understand her needs and I found this with Sutton Court Care Home. Mum appeared happy for her time there, the staff are approachable and professional and I was always made to feel welcome when visiting mum. There are plenty of in-house activities for the residents as well as outings. During mum's last few weeks of life the staff did their utmost to encourage her to eat and drink, never giving up on her. Mum was treated with dignity and respect until the end.
Reply from Marie Bannister, Manager at Sutton Court Care CentreThank you for sharing such a heartfelt review. We are truly honoured to have cared for your mum and are grateful for your kind words. Knowing she was treated with dignity, compassion, and respect means a great deal to our team. Our sincere condolences to you and your family.

Sutton Court Care Home was recommended to us by a friend when it became clear dad could no longer manage at home and when we visited we knew this was exactly the place where we wanted dad cared for. Every aspect of the place can only be described as excellent and we knew dad was in safe hands. We
sadly lost dad recently but the kindness and comfort towards us has continued for which we are so grateful and we will definitely recommend Sutton Court to anyone who like we were is needing a wonderful caring environment for their loved one.

An amazing experience, husband in for rehab after 6 operations abroad, 2 air ambulances and 2 months in local hospital. The staff & Managers Respectful, kind and friendly. My husband was unable to walk or manage to lift up from the bed independently. After wonderful staff effort and the best physio
ever he left this nursing home walking with a stick after dressing himself and going by car with my daughter back to our home, after Six and half months, the day. before my birthday, With Thanks to them all, with Love.

Sutton Court Care Home looked after my dad during the final 18 months of his life. I'm very grateful for the care they provided. His Alzheimer's was quite advanced when we moved him and I lived the other side of the world. The staff and manager were fantastic at keeping in touch with me, quick to reply
to emails, happy to answer questions and understanding of the distance. They set up video calls to speak to them or just see my dad. This meant a lot when I visited. I was made welcome and knowing he was well cared for gave me huge peace of mind.

Overall mum was well cared for. Most staff treated her with care and respect. Communication was at times unsatisfactory. Many of the features of the care home detailed on our first visit did not materialise. The quality of food provided was poor and this was raised with staff. Support at the end of
life was good and those staff who supported mum at this time were really invested in providing good quality care and dignity.

My partner was in Sutton Court Care Centre and it was outstanding and it was the best place, the care, the food, the management the staff, the cleanliness the activities, the parties and barbecues etc are amazing. I would certainly recommend this care home to anyone, even when it was my partners funeral
quite a few of the lovely carers and management came out in the cold to wave as the coffin went past. I think these people deserve medals for all the care for the elderly. It was just a fantastic home and my partner loved it and the staff. Well done Sutton Court all of you.

My brother was in Sutton Court, from July 2023 until his sad death in December 2024, was on a self-funding basis. Overall the level of care he received was good with the staff very caring with one male carer standing out who had formed a close bond with my brother. He was very respectful, patient and
considerate especially in his final days. As is the case in this sector, staff are under an enormous work and time pressures so there were times he felt that he did have to wait longer than he would of liked to receive help etc. when he rang his call bell. He was not impressed with the quality of the food and at times the temperature of it. I believe that he felt with the the very high cost of his fees that he should be receiving absolute top notch service. His room was a reasonable size with average quality fixtures and fittings. I believe there were quite a few activities arranged for residents but unfortunately due to his disabilities wasn't able to participate. Manager was very professional and caring.

My mum was transferred to Sutton Court Care Centre directly from the hospital for end-of-life care. All members of staff were caring, friendly and respectful, not only to my mother but also to my 90-year-old father who visited Mum regularly until her recent death. A special thanks goes to the manager
who was always compassionate yet professional and leads by example. Thank you.

We have just said goodbye to our lovely mum. She was 95. Without the care and kindness at Sutton Court, she would not have lived to this great age. She moved to the care home in 2019 as her dementia was causing her to be unsafe in her own home. The care given to Mum was kind and special and she was
always clean and tidy. She was always happy and we had some lovely get-togethers there. Thank you to Sutton Court for everything.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.838)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.838) out of 10 for Sutton Court Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.838 for Sutton Court Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (262 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 297 Ratings = 4.838
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sutton Court Care Centre is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
