Lydgate Lodge

Overall my experience in repsite care was very good. The majority of staff were caring and helpful with a minority not really suited for the job. Meals were good with a good selection of food although afternoon tea was a bit early. Despite there being a wide variety of conditions/illnesses, effort was made to provide varied activities.

Mum has been at Lydgate Lodge for five years, and we could not have hoped for a safer, happier place for Mum to be. Lydgate is her home, where she is cared for consistently by excellent staff, who support us and Mum fantastically. We've created a garden for Mum and recently held a family cinema afternoon, which Mum was thrilled with. All the staff are friendly and professional and have Mum's best interests at heart.

The Lydgate team have created a comfortable and welcoming environment for the residents and their families and I’m very grateful that Mum is well looked after and cared for by such lovely people.

The staff at the care home go out of their way to accommodate the resident's needs and the family's requests for the resident's care. It's a lovely home with a welcoming and comfortable environment from the minute you walk in.

The home looking after my mother-in-law is absolutely fantastic. We looked at other homes but we chose Lydgate Lodge as it was welcoming, clean and well-presented, the staff are very friendly and the location is great.

This has to be in part at least to the lovely staff and their caring attitude to all the residents which I witness on each visit.

I'm so happy that my grandma settled in well, it was emotionally hard accepting that she could no longer look after herself at 92 and her dementia suddenly deteriorated but she enjoys the activities and staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very homely and comfortable very clean and tidy. Meals are very nice too.

Lydgate Lodge is a very welcoming, caring environment to visit. I am 100% confident that Mum is as safe as she could possibly be despite her very advanced dementia. It is a happy atmosphere with a huge range of activities for all abilities and interests. Individual rooms are personal, cosy, homely, and clean. Communal areas are always stimulating and busy whilst also allowing residents some quiet time if they prefer. I feel as though I am visiting extended family as well as Mum. Cleaning and laundry staff are always to be seen doing a good job with the challenges of a dementia unit. Food is of an excellent quality, including cakes provided at the weekly coffee mornings.

My dad passed away after being cared for 12 months in the care home. The staff were lovely with both elder mum and dad. Dad was struggling with mobility and other health problems. They made mum welcome to visit all most every day. They were carrying friendly and tried to help with anything you asked them for. They did all sorts to fill their days. Thanks so must for the care.

The staff are really dedicated to care, even when dealing with the most difficult situations regarding residents, behaving both professionally and with tact and discretion. They are willing to help the resident's family also with any concerns. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lydgate Lodge.

My Mum has been at Lydgate Lodge for just over 12 months and it was the best decision we ever made. The level of care is very high and Mum is very comfortable and happy. The staff are wonderful and show true care and affection towards the residents. There is always lots going on, my Mum loves the weekly entertainer and is always up dancing and enjoying herself. Families are also always made to feel welcome and involved. Making the decision to move a loved one into a care home is extremely difficult but Lydgate made the whole process as easy as they could and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in this difficult situation.

My mum has been in Lydgate Lodge for 3 years. She’s settled, is very well looked after and all her needs are met. All the staff are excellent and friendly and the home is always clean as is mum’s room.

Staff are very approachable and friendly and Mum has good relationships with specific staff. Rooms are pleasant and well-kept with excellent facilities. There appears to be a range of activities for residents to join in and are encouraged to do so. Meals are good. Light and airy rooms, lounges etc. and very pleasant gardens to enjoy.

Fantastic! The team at Lydgate Lodge are fantastic and really caring. they are like my second family. So caring and professional.

Everyone always seems caring and looks after the residents well. The food seems to be really nice.

My first impression is very good, warm welcome and helpful.

The introductions were good and made to feel welcome, and treated with civility by all. I would be more than happy to stay again as and when the need arises. The food was good but I didn't rate it excellent as not quite as good as home cooking although on occasions the food did rate excellent.

Nice room, good facilities and capable, friendly staff. My wife enjoyed the coffee mornings and entertainment.

Since mum arrived here she has become more like her old self. The staff can't do enough for her and are always on hand to answer any concerns we have.
