Horse Fair, thank you so much. As a family we had to make the hardest decision of our lives, sleepless nights worrying over the heartbreaking decision that Dad at 90 was no longer able to give Mom the care she required and we were unable to be with her 24/7. Mom has Alzheimer's. Mom was offered a choice
of 3 available care homes. We are so pleased that Horse Fair was one of them. As a family we are made to feel part of their family, the staff are so friendly and passionate. We can not believe how quickly Mom is settling in better than we ever imagined, she has made friends and complying with tasks we said she wouldn't allow. Food is very plentiful and residents all seemingly enjoy it. The staff are amazing truthful and reassuring. The overall feeling when you enter is this could be a hotel with a clean friendly atmosphere. We are so happy we found Horse Fare. We look forward to attending and supporting all activities in the future. You are all amazing caring people.

My mother has just spent 10 days for respite care at Horse Fair and I was very impressed by the level of care that was provided during this short stay. The staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough to make the stay as comfortable as possible for her. There was a very relaxed but caring atmosphere
about the place from when she arrived to her departure day. It gave us all great peace of mind knowing she was getting such great care.

My wife was admitted into the care home as a respite resident in May 2023 but then became a permanent resident in September 2023. Since her initial admittance, she has received excellent care in all respects from a friendly and dedicated staff throughout the care home and this is reflected in my excellent
rating in all options. As a regular visitor to the home, I see the dedication and professional care that is in place. We all know that there is no cure or going back for dementia so it is good to know that my wife is being given the dignity, respect, empathy and loving care that she deserves. God bless all of the staff and residents in this care home.

My mum has been in Horse Fair for 17 months now. She has settled in well and is looked after very well by all the staff. I had been looking after her at home for some good time before she came to Horse Fair so it was with some trepidation of my behalf. I shouldn't have worried though as the staff are
wonderful, the food second to none, mother likes her food, to say the least, and looks forward to eating everything, especially the amazing cakes! Mum has dementia and has deteriorated quite a lot in the time she has been living in Horse Fair but the staff are used to dealing with all eventualities. They keep me informed of how things are going and are always there if I need to talk to them. Thank you everyone at Horsefair.

Mum has enjoyed the activities throughout October particularly the African drumming and Halloween party. It is good that she is able to choose which activities she joins in with. I am pleased that the staff encouraged her to take part. Mum is confident that when she needs help she will get it (usually).
Mum does like some staff better than others and seems to have a good rapport with most.

I visit my friend at Horse Fair Care Home regularly, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, and the staff are always polite and attentive, no matter how busy they are. Reception are always helpful, and everywhere always looks clean to a high standard.
We loved watching the birds in the garden with
coffee and a cake in the summer, and most recently tonight the brilliant Halloween party, there are often events and activities going on that families and friends can join in with.

My mum stayed at Horse Fair Care Home for a holiday stay. She is usually cared for at home with 24-hour live-in care. I was concerned about how she would settle and respond to moving into a care home even for a short stay. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming the activities kept mum occupied
and in a social environment. The food was great and she really enjoyed the company. The home was always clean and in the main fresh-smelling. The lounge was divided into small groups of chairs which made it feel and look more homely and the dining room was bright and very welcoming. All in all, we had a great experience and plan for a more permanent stay in the future.

Because my husband was called away on family business, I spent a week in respite at the home. While I was a bit anxious at the prospect, I need not have worried because the experience proved to be enlightening and gainful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. After some hesitation on their part,
a few residents were quite friendly.

Have used several times for respite. Mom is always happy to go. Staff are very welcoming. She is always well cared for and despite her dementia, looks very happy. Overall, as a family, we feel she is in a safe and happy, caring place.

Extremely helpful care staff during demonstration and try out of new chair. They were willing, kind and full of advice, also patient and treated Mum with dignity while she deliberated and raised issues. On the same day, I witnessed the return of another resident from a hospital stay; she had the loveliest
of welcomes and was visibly delighted with the fuss made of her.

My Mum has been a resident in the Dementia unit since the end of May 2018. And is now in Palliative care.
I have nothing more to say than what an absolutely wonderful care home this is. From the first time she came to live here to the present time mum has had marvellous care, the staff are so compassionate
and loving to her and all the residents.
They have seen mum at her worst when angry, frustrated, sad and not understanding her situation, to laughing with her and making her smile and laugh. They are always kind, loving and professional.
All resident's rooms have their own bathrooms, communal lounges and dining rooms are spacious and well-fitted. A lovely garden for sunny days with an aviary. Alpacas visited recently, a huge hit, also staff member's beautiful cat came in for cuddles, I would not hesitate to recommend Horse Fair, you will be welcomed with love and kindness by all staff.

This review covers the period of time that our mother spent in the care of the staff at Horse Fair from September until she passed away in January this year.
We chose Horse Fair Care Home for our mother because a relative had given us a good review from when their relative was in the home and our
impressions when we visited to make our own assessment.
From the word go, we were very happy with the staff we met, the cleanliness and the quality of the room we were shown. Our first impressions were spot on, for the whole time our mum was with Horse Fair she was treated with kindness and with dignity, even though we know that as her dementia worsened she became very difficult. This made out lives so much easier as we knew that she was being very well looked after.

My father moved from sheltered accommodation to Horse Fair Care Home in December 2022 due to mobility and other issues. He has settled in really well and myself and our family are very pleased with the care he has received at Horse Fair. The staff are kind and attentive and care for my father's every

I’m passionate about delivering person-centred, dignified care in a safe, welcoming environment. I hold the Registered Manager’s Award and am trained in Dementia Care, Health & Safety, COSHH, and Medication Administration.
