Staff are always cheerful and always helpful. The manager is helpful and supportive. Any questions or worries are answered quickly.

I am very happy with the care that my Mum receives at Hawthorn Court. The carers are all pleasant and helpful and management is very efficient. All questions and requests are dealt with promptly and well. The rooms and lounges are all comfortable and clean with lovely views over the gardens and footpaths
where my Mum can see families passing on their way to and from school etc. It is very reassuring to know that my Mum is safe, happy and well cared for.

The staff are very caring and considerate and provide a good atmosphere for the residents. My mother in law is relatively happy here at Hawthorn Court in Hebburn and seems to interact with the carers ok. She is kept neat and tidy although I think she could benefit from more baths which she does love.
I realise this is down to staff availability and a number of residents in the home.


A few of her belongings do go missing from time to time and the staff do make an effort to find them. I realise this is due to the nature of some of the residents. All in all, I am satisfied with her care.

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate all feedback received as it helps us to improve our service where required. The health and well-being of all our residents is of paramount importance to us; baths and showers are undertaken to the preference of the individual and this is written in care plans. Our staff will always offer residents baths or showers and encourage them to take them when they are reluctant to do so. Because of the nature of their ailment, some residents may inadvertently take things which do not belong to them. Our staff are vigilant and supportive in returning items to the rightful owners when this does occur. We also have a lost property where items that are not named can often be found. The Home Manager operates an open door policy and would welcome the opportunity to assist you with any concerns you may have regarding the care of your loved one.

Excellent staff and accommodation. Since Dad has been in the home we have not really had any complaints. You are always made welcome and staff are on the ball if there is anything wrong with Dad and they get straight in touch. They have done everything in their power to make dad welcome and comfortable.

Homely, comfy and clean (no urine smell). My dad is well taken care of and staff are lovely. The place is like a big family. What can I say? We are very lucky Dad got a place here. It's a home from home.

Our mam is happy and well cared for. Staff are generally attentive and caring, Mam likes them.
Mostly when we raise issues they are dealt with but occasionally it takes a few reminder e.g lost glasses. Staff try their best to keep her room clean it is well kept.
On the whole, we feel happy that mam
is here and we would recommend it highly to others.

My mother has been a resident at Hawthorn Court for 5 years, I visit most days. She is well cared for and loved. Generally good. Staff usually very helpful but sometimes understaffed and have to ask residents to wait while they attend other jobs. Medication not always given at the correct time, especially at night staff have been busy. In my opinion, reception should be staffed EVERY day to ensure only legitimate
visitors enter premises. It has come to my notice that it is possible to get in and simply walk in unopposed.
