Having visited last week for a tour prior to my mums arrival, I was very pleasantly surprised by the indoor/outdoor spaces. The staff, both clerical and caring all greeted me with smiles and professionalism. I have heard wonderful reviews of Hawthorn and my family are delighted that Mum will be part of what appears to be a very caring community.

All staff are well presented, very pleasant and efficient. The premises are of a very high standard and maintained in keeping with the ethos of HC-One.

I am happy my mum has found a residence as well run and equipped as this appears to be.

My mother moved into Hawthorne Court 3 months ago after a short stay in another home in South Tyneside. I am so much more impressed with every aspect of Hawthorne Court. She has settled in really well,

When visiting my brother in the care home I found the staff are always friendly, courteous and efficient and always take great care of my brother when bringing him to myself when visiting him.

I find the home itself to always be clean, today and has a good atmosphere as the staff always seem to have plenty of patience, humour and respect for the people in their care.

As a local lady, I chose this home for my mam as I had heard locally of its excellent reputation. I certainly made the correct choice. You feel part of a family on every visit. The standard of care is exemplary and all members of staff are friendly and professional. The facilities are excellent and the cleanliness is superb. My mom settled very quickly and I am delighted with all aspects of the care home.

The atmosphere is very warm; the staff are always there to meet your needs, nothing is too much trouble. There is no 'care home smell'. The food is good and on occasions, we now have a choice to go out for a picnic. Everywhere is clean and great importance is taken by all the staff to ensure we adhere to the Coronavirus rules.

Me and my mum are very happy with the overall standard of the home. The two girls on reception go above and beyond to help you, can't praise them enough. The only problem I have is why when you have your mam's name on all her clothes she ends up with other peoples. We found it really hard recently when mam was taken to hospital to find a pair of PJ's that matched. Other than this usually happy with the home and the staff.

I held my mam's hand this week for the first time in over a year. We could not be more grateful for all the measures that have been put in place. The staff are immeasurably kind and caring. Mam is happy and safe here.

I am generally satisfied with the care and facilities. I have spoken to my uncle about this and these comments reflect our joint view. He was on a special hospital ordered diet, which he disliked, however, his feeling is that he would eat more and more varied food, especially now the diet is over. We both are aware that there appear to be different rates for residents. My uncle pays £3,600+ per month, not good value for money.

My mother has been a resident of Hawthorn Court for 10 months. Although I have not been in Hawthorn Court since 12 March 2020 I have no reason to think the standard (overall) has declined. If anything I would say the home has improved as excellent.

The manager and staff have been exceptional regarding; communication, care, respect and safety with respect to my mother's care. I am extremely grateful and thankful.

I am unable to fill in most of the options below because I have never been inside because of Covid 19. When I am visiting or phoning the staff are always most helpful and kind and I think my wife is in good and safe hands, and being well looked after.

As the next of kin for my cousin who has been a resident since 2013, I cannot sufficiently express my admiration and gratitude to the manager and staff of Hawthorn Court for their professionalism, compassion, kindness and care. Hawthorn Court is a safe secure happy environment which treats its residents and their families with the greatest respect and courtesy. I have total confidence in the manager and her staff and I can not recommend their service highly enough. Any person needing care could not be better looked after than in the security of Hawthorn Court where they will be treated with kindness and dignity.
