Hawthorn Court Care Home

I am unable to fill in most of the options below because I have never been inside because of Covid 19. When I am visiting or phoning the staff are always most helpful and kind and I think my wife is in good and safe hands, and being well looked after.

My mam gets well looked after. Very happy with all support. Staff are great to mam.

As the next of kin for my cousin who has been a resident since 2013, I cannot sufficiently express my admiration and gratitude to the manager and staff of Hawthorn Court for their professionalism, compassion, kindness and care. Hawthorn Court is a safe secure happy environment which treats its residents and their families with the greatest respect and courtesy. I have total confidence in the manager and her staff and I can not recommend their service highly enough. Any person needing care could not be better looked after than in the security of Hawthorn Court where they will be treated with kindness and dignity.

Over this very strange time, Hawthorn Court management and staff have been so supportive. The stress and personal contact with the residents never wavered and always gave 100%. We as a family can't fault them. We are so grateful.

On first going into Hawthorn Court I was met with the impression that this was the place for me; a cheerful receptionist soon put me at ease and gave me a tour of the facilities. The rooms are bright and well equipped with all the fittings being clean and providing me with all I require. I quickly felt I was part of the family. The staff are most helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them to help you in whatever you want. I never have any complaints about the food, it is just like being at home. Due to the current restrictions placed on the staff and residents by the Coronavirus, I know it is a very difficult time. I know that this is the place for me where I will always be happy.

The patience, care and understanding shown to our aunt was exceptional. The facilities were of the highest standard and kept immaculately clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hawthorn Court to anyone thinking about residential care for a loved one.

Staff and management cannot do enough for you.

I visited my auntie recently. I was very impressed with the overall standard of the care home. The staff were very friendly and the home had a high standard of cleanliness. The first impression when you walk in is fantastic. As a registered mental health nurse, I was highly impressed.

Excellent staff, very helpful and very caring. They treat everyone with the utmost dignity. I would definitely recommend this care home to others.

Mam came into Hawthorn Court after a stay in hospital. She soon settled in and we feel she was welcomed into the home. Hawthorn Court staff are all very helpful and pleasant. The home is very clean and well presented.

Good food.

Since her admission, she has gained confidence, eaten well, slept well and become increasingly mobile although blind she has been well supported by the staff. All the staff are genuinely kind and caring and provide a high standard of care. All the residents always appear clean, happy and well cared for. The environment is lovely and kept to a high standard. I can't thank the staff enough for their excellent care and attention to mum.

Although usually a loner she has made one or two friends which have helped her to settle. She has days of challenging behaviour but states she is happy in her new residence.

On entering the building, very friendly greeting, clean, tidy and pleasant staff and the lady we came to see was happy. She looked very smart and well looked after.

The food is absolutely disgusting! Cheap, not fresh, cold and texture of some foods like rubber. On a number of occasions, I have been so disgusted that I have had to go out and purchase food for my mother to eat. Something needs to be done about it!

Very professional and thoughtful. Always willing to please and very understanding and always cheerful. Could not find a fault at all in all categories.

I find the staff at all levels to be knowledgeable and very welcoming and approachable. They know their service users are very well and therefore able to meet their day to day needs.

Overall a very pleasant care provider. The home is a high standard of cleanliness and staff are very attentive and accommodating. A warm and comfortable atmosphere for residents, friends and family.

We were told my husbands' personal washing would be included in your price of one week's residency. This was not so, a printed message was pinned on the toilet door saying "family must do the residents washing". My husband complained that the food was never hot enough, I find my experience of the coffee served was that it was a combination of water and milk with a minimum measure of coffee.
