How can people put down the care staff at Riverdale Court when they have done a fantastic job caring for my mother in law.
People do not know what the carers have to go through each day on a twelve-hour shift
I think they do a fantastic job in all aspects of there duty’s.
Many thanks for your review, I will pass it to the team. Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I am the new manager at Riverdale and I did not have a chance to meet her.
My Dad has been a resident with Avante for a number of years and at Riverdale for the past few. All of the staff go out of their way to ensure he is happy and well cared for. They not only ensure his physical needs are taken care of but they have taken time to get to know him and make his life happy.
I can honestly say during all this time we have never had a reason to complain about Dad’s care.
The home is welcoming to visitors, respectful of their residents and have first class carers. Thank you for giving my family peace of mind that he is safe and loved. It wasn’t an easy decision for Dad and the family when we were all looking for the best option for him to live, but we’ve never regretted choosing Riverdale.
We might have met before when you visited Riverdale Court. I am the new manager.
I am really happy with the care Dad receives. In my experience, all the staff treat Dad with dignity, respect and kindness. They all know Dad and take their time to talk to him and make him laugh. I never worry about how Dad is treated when we are not there with him. Dad's been a resident for quite a few years now and I feel lucky that we found this care home. I would happily recommend it to anyone.
I am always made welcome. My brother is well cared for and is content here. I was concerned he would not settle. He is, I think happy and is in a good place. Car park could be bigger, but apart from this, all is well.
A senior person required to delegate to the staff at meal times.
Access required for residents at meal times.
Greater supervision required for laundry staff. Labelled clothing goes missing or delivered to the wrong person.
Personal room key required to access their resident's room at all times (small deposit may be req for this). Ward master key is often missing.
WiFi access is a shambles, requires vast improvement.
Staff must at all times wear a visible name badge.
Parking for visitors needs improvement, staff and trainees must park elsewhere.
Showers and drainage in rooms need greater maintenance and finance. Constant drip from the shower, uncontrollable mixer valve, blocked shower room drainage, all adds to slip hazards.
Lunch/Dinner menu to be clearly displayed for residents visitors/relations.
The local policy of gifts to staff need vast improvement, at this time it goes straight to the office for allocation to who they think fit!
HQ needs to be more accessible.
I am more than happy with Riverdale Court, My mother has been cared for on a respite care package. The carers are very well trained and I cannot fault the care provided. The food and accommodation are excellent. The home is kept clean to a very high standard. My mother is suffering from advanced dementia and is not an easy person to care for. Well done to everyone at Riverdale Court.
I am very pleased with the care my father has received since he moved in. Staff are friendly and helpful, the carers are patient and cheerful, giving him the support he needs. He has been encouraged to join in activities and enjoys trying things he has not done before!
I used to go to Church with one of the residents. I just had to tell the manager today how wonderful her staff are. I visit a few friends in Home's and you hear bad things so I think it is important to say how good the staff are here. They always welcome me and are so kind and outgoing. A real credit to my friend.
We live nearby a lovely residential area. We visit the home and are invited to events which is very kind, they don't have to do that. The grandchildren love coming for the Easter Egg Hunt and the residents and staff are always cheery and welcoming. Staff always say hello when we see them.
This is how respite and care should be, a really good team of dedicated, caring and "can do" people providing high-quality support to people in an environment that are comfortable, safe, clean, very friendly and positive. If mum is happy, I'm happy.
We are so glad we chose Riverdale Court. The management were available to speak to me every day. Brilliant staff and managers.
The staff in Riverdale treat my mother with care and compassion. They are very friendly and helped me get through a very difficult time when mum was first admitted. I would highly recommend Riverdale as an excellent choice of care home particularly for someone with a dementia condition.
Riverdale staff have shown to be kind, caring and respectful, my mother has responded to the care she receives and appears healthier than when she first arrived, although often confused, she does appear (and often says she feels) quite content.
Very polite and supportive staff. My mother has language and memory problems and has been supported very well considering. I visit whenever I can and am made to feel welcome whatever the time. I had concerns over an agency staff who supported my mother by dressing her inappropriately - I raised this with staff and felt that I was heard. Very reassuring for the family.
