Freelands Croft is dedicated to caring for those with dementia, from early onset to more complex end-of-life needs - with nursing, residential and short stay care.

There are 64 lovely rooms, and the home will always do its best to accommodate couples. Each of the comfortable en-suite bedrooms features their own accessible wet room, flat-screen TV and 24-hour nurse call system and many have views of their large landscaped gardens that wrap around the home. There are lots of places to choose from for some company or tranquillity.

Freelands Croft has four lounges, and a huge wrap-around garden is perfect for a gentle stroll. The home’s interior has been decorated to suit individuals with dementia, being colour-themed and including memory triggers.

Residents can enjoy a bit of pampering in the hair salon or pop into the vintage-style café. The reminiscence room helps to recapture memories from the past.

Good food is so important for many reasons. Tempting meals and snacks can be enjoyed in the bright and airy dining rooms or in the comfort of the resident’s own room. Soon after a resident arrives at Freelands, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. Visiting musicians, curry and quiz nights, and musical bingo are examples of some of the activities residents can experience, alongside weekly outings, arts and crafts or coffee mornings.

My husband at last seems to get involved with activities, but without his hearing aids in he finds it difficult to participate. He was enjoying the colouring sheets but the supply seems to have stopped I provide some but he likes to have two sheets to work on.
I take him out on most of my visits so
that he gets some exercise, he seems to think because of the problem of falling asleep he has to be supervised.

Mum has been at Freelands since July 2025. They have been so kind and made Mum and ourselves so welcome. It felt very strange at first, but now it feels like home to all of us.

I cannot praise the staff at Freeland's Croft highly enough. My mother has never been so content, comfortable, or genuinely cared for. They look after her with such tenderness and love that it feels as though she is part of their own family. I feel truly blessed to have found such a wonderful care home,
and it brings me great peace knowing she is in such capable and compassionate hands.


She recently had a chest infection, and thanks to the diligence, attentiveness, and dedication of the staff, she is now well on the road to recovery. I am deeply grateful for everything they do for her each day, I really don't know what I would do without them all. Thank you all very much x

It's coming up a year since my mum became a resident at Freelands. The Care is beyond amazing and staff are so lovely and generous. The home loves the interaction with the residents family so that gives us a sense of belonging and involved with our loved one. Nothing is too much for any of the staff.
Staff are trained but also take their time to get to know the residents first that one on one care. Management are extremely approachable and the office is right by reception. They are not behind closed doors they are also looking in on residents also and love to interact with family members. I'm so grateful for the ongoing fabulous care Freelands gives my mum. Gives my family such peace of mind. Thank you to all at Freelands.

My mother has been a resident at Freelands Croft for over 2 years now and I have been very happy with the way her needs have been met, as they have changed during that time. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and react to any questions or requests and are always happy to help. My mother is treated
with dignity and respect and during our daily visits we always feel welcome. There are always plenty of activities taking place and the team work hard to include a variety of things to stimulate residents. Meals are well presented, a variety of options for breakfast and two choices of main course plus dessert for lunch and a selection of options for supper with morning coffee and afternoon tea with cakes/pastries. Any food preferences and special requests are always welcomed and accommodated. Freelands Croft has a lovely welcoming atmosphere from the manager, financial controller, receptionists to the care staff and managers, cleaners, laundry, catering staff etc.

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting, for the amount of money residents are paying to stay in the home the level of care and treatment is appalling. Would not recommend anyone to stay there. Residents are left screaming in their rooms or wandering the corridors naked. Would not recommend anyone to send
a loved one there if you care about them.

My wife has been in Freelands Croft Care Home for about 2 months now and I have found everyone treats not only the residents but visitors so well with a lot of respect at staff are always on hand to help. I think I would find it hard to find a better place for my wife to be a resident in .
