It is so important for all relatives of elderly loved ones that they are being cared for properly, with respect, and that they have the opportunity to enjoy every day they are residents.

New Cross is a very special place where the overall care experience is excellent, and relatives can relax knowing loved ones are in good hands.

Staff are kind, caring, friendly and also approachable.

A great relief that mom is in a fantastic home with caring staff and excellent facilities. Would highly recommend the home to any prospective resident.

Mum is well cared for. She is safe, warm and well fed. A new bed and mattress was provided for mum because she kept slipping out of bed. The staff are very patient and helpful, helping mum to move around and join in with activities. Mum has not been too well at times but the doctor is called straight away which is reassuring.

A slight concern I do have is the differing reports given by staff, some say she is doing well whilst others report her not being so good. However, I'm sure they do try to "hand-over" successfully.

We were very happy with the standard of care. Due to changes in drugs, mother seems very contented, and previous concerns relating to personal hygiene have now been fully addressed.

The review went well. Do have concerns about my mother's weight and varicose veins which are large due to constant walking. Have tried getting her to sit down for long periods whilst there but all she wants to do is walk. Staff are very good with her but this is all part of dementia.

Very open, friendly and caring atmosphere. Always felt welcome whenever we visited. Staff were always very attentive towards my aunt as were friends as well as carers. They made the last few months of her life comfortable and happy for which we will be forever grateful.

We, as a church have always been made welcome. We come twice a month to conduct a service lasting approximately half an hour and the staff have always made us welcome.

My mother has been resident in Newcross Care Home for just over two years and during that time we have had no reason to complain about her care. The staff are very good and friendly and the facility excellent. During her time she has been taken out on trips to theatre, shops etc. There is also regular entertainment within the home.

The staff are very friendly and caring. My mom is well cared for always clean and seems happy. The home is warm and welcoming, bright with never any odours. Due to lack of staff at times requests sometimes take time to be implemented, but eventually gets done. I feel my mom could not be card for in a more caring or dignified manner than here. Whenever I call I feel part of their community.

The staff have been extremely caring and thoughtful in the two and a half years she has been a resident. When she first arrived she settled quickly and was happy. She enjoyed the company and taking part in the many and varied activities. We sometimes felt that she was happier than she had been at home alone as she enjoyed the company. She especially enjoyed helping in the garden. Since she has ben confined to bed they keep her clean and well fed.

My mother is very happy here and cannot fault any of her care or how very pleasant and helpful the members of staff are. I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who asks.

The standard of care received by my grandma, was nothing but exemplary. The staff were extremely compassionate, understanding and would always massively exceed expectations which was crucial at such a difficult time in my grandmas life. In September 2015 my grandma took a turn for the worse, and it was in her last moment that we really saw how fantastic Newcross Care Home was, having had experience of many other care homes in my professional and personal capacity. My grandma passed away feeling nothing but loved, cared for, and cherished by not only her family, but also by all members of staff.

Beverley AldridgeJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2019

Hello, my name is Beverley, and I am delighted to be the Home Manager here at Newcross.

I have 40 years of experience within the healthcare sector and have achieved qualifications such as the Management level 4 Registered Manager's Award. Working in residential and nursing settings, my previous roles have been as an Operations Manager and a Nurse.

Within this time, I have shared many treasurable moments with the residents I have had the pleasure to meet along the way. One proud moment that has stayed with me throughout my career was when I was able to reunite one of my residents with their brother, who had lost contact and not seen each other for 15 years. To their surprise, they found out they had only been living a few miles apart the whole time.

I would best describe myself as someone who is very outgoing, warm and welcoming and always wanting the best for the home. I pride myself in providing a high-quality service to all residents ensuring they receive an exceptional level of care and have a fun, enjoyable life here at Newcross Care Home. In my spare time, I enjoy going on holiday, meeting with friends for meals out and spending time with my family.

Avery Healthcare, owners of Newcross, strives to be the best in care, providing high-quality services whilst offering its best support to managers and staff. Our home is truly unique as it reflects Birmingham’s rich cultural heritage with our diverse and happy community.

I look forward to welcoming you to Newcross.
