My mother came to Elm Bank for respite care and we are very happy with her experience and she is now becoming a permenent resident.
The staff are very friendly and always smiling, they take excellent care of my mother and although it does sound corny they do care. Communication is fantastic.

Very happy with everything here

To start with you have a very caring staff. The room which my wife has is very good with a nice view of the grounds. The activities are very good which gets my wife out of her room. The only thing which my wife is cannot stand the food on cold plates. Otherwise the food is very good. Overall the home is very good. You have a very good staff.

Our dad continues to be so happy and settled at Elm Bank. His care is excellent and we can see the lovely warm relationships he shares with them and his fellow residents. The entertainment programme is always a source of great anticipation for us all and we now share happy times with music and fun, instead of negotiating together the trials of growing old alone at home. Our good decision to choose Elm Bank is confirmed over & over again.

The staff here are nothing short of awesome.
We decided to home Mum here after viewing a number of facilities and it was definitely the right choice. The staff have a real warmth about them and the Medical staff are nothing short of amazing. it really is like a home from home.

Mum is very happy here, but Barchester Head Office should be cautious, everyone knows this is a business to them, but be mindful this is a home to your residents.

Reply from Larissa Bledea, General Manager at Barchester Elm Bank Care Home

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are absolutely thrilled to hear that choosing our home was the right decision for your mum. Mummy was at Elm Bank for a week of respite care and the staff were uniformly lovely, patient, caring and kind. To my mind this is the biggest and best thing that a care home can provide so along with the lovely setting (which is being refurbished) and excellent activities I was very pleased with her stay there.

My mother suffers with dementia and is a resident on Blossom Trail. The staff are extremely patient, helpful and genuinely caring. They offer all the assistance she needs and always inform me of any doctors visits, change of medication or other issues. Although it is difficult due to her illness they try to involve her in the excellent activities and keep her as active as possible. I am very happy with her care.

On admission two staff offered to care for my mothers every need. Despite being informed by me 24 hours earlier of her departure no one knew of her leaving and nothing was prepared. The personal care was not there because her cardigan buttons were uncoordinated. There was no one to tell me how she has been and what had she done rather than she had been no trouble! I emptied her drawers and packed her suitcase but there was no washing for the week.

There simply isn't enough stars to give this place and the amazing staff. From the minute my mother-in-law arrived the care and support had been beyond what we ever expected, but they also gave us invaluable support during the difficult time. They took time to understand my mother in laws needs and personality and gave her the space and care she needed. They encouraged her but never forced her to join in with activities. She is now a very happy lady who loves who new home. One staff member in particular is always on hand with her lovely buddy, friendly personality to give us updates and advice. Thank you all.
