Throughout, my association with Acer Court Care Home has been very positive. The administration have gone out of their way to allow unusual allowances due to me living far from Nottingham and the care staff are looking after my mother efficiently, caringly and within the strict guidelines of the care commission rules. At 101 years, my mother is being given a quality of life beyond that she would have had living in the community albeit at her cost.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer Court Care Home. Our highly trained staff team go above and beyond the standards daily to deliver an exceptional level of care, whilst creating a warm and welcoming community for all residents, and it is a pleasure to have your mother as part of it. First visit after lockdown, so exciting. Very comfortable and private. Well looked after and staff are very friendly. He was lost for words it's been that long. Been very well looked after.
Thank you for reviewing Acer Court Care Home. Our staff team are also just as excited as you are to welcome our residents loved ones back into our homes for more regular and safe visiting.
My mother had lived in Acer Court for 5 years living with Dementia. During her stay at this beautiful home which is more like a hotel than a care home, she received excellent care and attention. The staff are always professional and treat the residents with dignity. All throughout my mother's stay they treated her as she was one of their own family, she was very well cared for and the home was never lacking in a good atmosphere and fun. The Home Manager and her Deputy always had time for the relatives and so helpful at the end of our mother's life. We will always feel that we became part of Acer Court's family as that is how all the staff made us feel. The home offered lovely well-cleaned rooms, freshly cooked food and fantastic care and communication. Thank you Acer Court.

The staff and management of Acer Court looked after my mum for 18 months. They are always kind and considerate to mum's needs and kept the family informed of her wellbeing. I would like to thank the staff and management for looking after mum. I highly recommend Acer Court.

My mum came into Acer in December 2018 after living alone for over 20 years. Since moving to Acer Court she has regained a lot of her lost coordination and memory. She was struggling to cope yet would not admit it to herself or anyone else. The worry of remembering her medications, appointments, bills and cooking took its toll on her. She felt lost as many of her friends were gone or had left the area leaving her feeling isolated even though family visited regularly; it was not enough. The people she had known from her own era were now missing from her life. Those she would talk to about the good old days were no more. Acer has given her support and care, all the staff are brilliant, the rooms and facilities are superb. She has no worries with day to day life as it's taken care of, she has friends and she is safe. At 92 years old what more could we ask for the mum we all love. Throughout the COVID situation, they have kept her safe and cared for, we as a family thank them all. Well done.
Thank you for taking the time to review Acer Court Care Home, your kind words are truly invaluable to us and our staff team appreciate your positive feedback. Kind Regards, Ryan.
On moving in we found the office staff to be very efficient and had all the paperwork in order for us.
Well kept home with loads of activities throughout the day in which the residents enjoy. Cleanliness is 100%. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Management very friendly with nothing is too much for them to sort out, making sure you feel at ease when you're leaving their loved ones in your care. All in all a care home I would recommend 100% to anyone.
My parents were both at Acer for a few weeks when their home was done up. Excellent care, all staff amazing. Room cleaned every day. They loved the food. Both have said they would go back when they need more help.
I have recently visited my friend who resides at Acer Court. She was in great spirits despite the recent COVID outbreak. She said it had been tough being in lockdown but the staff had looked after her so well and been so caring that she would not have felt safer anywhere else. It was lovely to see her looking so well. Thank you to the Acer Court staff team.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. I found a nice response to a simple greeting encouraging. Being escorted on a short walk or to a shop (on a special bus) was helpful. Choirs, quizzes and entertainment in the mornings and afternoons were enjoyable. Provisions of tea/coffee, biscuits or buns during the day was pleasant. Having my room well cared for was very helpful. Buildings appeared in the countryside, making the views interesting. Relaxing areas for walking and sitting were made by well-planted gardens. Inside was light with places to sit and talk or enjoy the views of paintings everywhere.
Thank you. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and hope that you have settled in at home now. We would love to see you again if you are ever in the area - there is a bun with your name on it waiting for you.
My wife and I stayed for two weeks until Jan 2020. We had superb service from all the staff, who do a difficult job, in a very pleasant manner. Thank you all.
It was our pleasure to look after such a lovely couple. Thank you for choosing Acer Court and we look forward to welcoming you both back again soon.
He loved the staff; they became another family to him.
He was well looked after to the end.
Thank you for your kind words, it was easy to extend the Acer Court family to include your dad. We are sorry for your loss - your dad will be missed by all of the staff at Acer Court.

Meet the Team (6)

My name is Gemma and I am the manager here at Acer Court. I have worked for Avery for over 8 years now developing my skills from a deputy manager in a busy Avery nursing home, in Staffordshire, to becoming a successful manager at sister home Alder House and now transferring to Acer Court.
I am from Stoke on Trent and I have worked in the healthcare industry for 18 years, completing most roles that you would find in a regular care home and working my way up to the manager role completing many qualifications along the way. My main experience, knowledge and background is in Dementia care and this is an area of care that I am most passionate about.
Outside of my career, I love to go to the gym Subsequently, this has led to me signing up for many charity events such as white-collar boxing, half marathons and various assault courses. I just love to help people, in any way I can.

My role is to help families and residents navigate their care journey, from the initial enquiry to move in and beyond.

A key part of my role is planning our activity program, which supports the physical, social, and psychological well-being of our residents.

I have been a member of the team at Acer Court for nearly 10 years now, working in a variety of roles, gaining experience and understanding of our home.
I love working front of house, where I enjoy welcoming families, having a cup of tea and a chat.

Meet Harry, our dedicated Maintenance Operative at Acer Court.
For nearly 7 years, Harry has been a valued part of the team, always ready to help with any maintenance tasks, support activities and events.

Lisa is a valued member of our team. She doesn’t just cook delicious meals for our residents; she also supports our events by baking amazing cakes.
Lisa loves a challenge and enjoys exploring traditional foods from different cultures.
