My father has been a resident since 2012 and has very much enjoyed the cheerful and helpful nature of the Home. He loves going out on minibus trips, but equally enjoys activities indoors such as art, gardening club and flower arranging for the dining room. There is always a choice of activities and residents are also welcome to stay in their well-equipped and beautifully furnished rooms if they so wish.

My father has just enjoyed his fourth visit to the home for short term respite care and, as on previous occasions, has been very happy with his stay. The staff could not be more welcoming and friendly, both to residents/service users and to family members and the facilities and service are superb.

I have been an 'official' visitor almost since the home opened. It is warm, welcoming and comfortable. I have found the staff without exception kind, caring and happy. It makes such a difference to see a smiling face. I go when I can to chat and help. I have been instrumental in getting three people to come to Newstone. The food is good and varied. The house is continually trying to keep the people interested in what is going on. the events put on are quite spectacular.

Since February 2012, my mother has been cared for at Newstone House, respite and as a resident. In that time my mother has received excellent care and understanding from the whole team. Although her care needs can sometimes be challenging, I always have faith in the knowledge and understanding her care, safety and wellbeing are always first ,help is given in her own interest to feel comfortable happy and settled. Newstone House has become our home to visit mum, we feel the warm friendly welcome with each visit, as a family everyone cares like extended family members. Thank you to the team at Newstone House.

All the staff are caring and considerate. The meals are well prepared with daily choices. The homes cleanliness is beyond reproach. The residents room whilst small is adequate, airy and clean with a view over the south facing gardens.

The resources are remarkable and the best that I have seen in the UK. The staff are friendly and caring even with difficult residents. The surroundings are clean, bright and welcoming. The overall impression is very good and if the occasion should arrive I would highly recommend Newstones.

Staff at home responded kindly and professionally and with great understanding when the time came for father to have nursing home care. They have looked after my father as an individual and us as a family as we adapt to the changes old age brings.

Newstones is a very special place. It is civilized, dignified and a pleasure to visit. My friend was not an easy new resident but with love and respect and care she is happy. The activities and facilities are excellent and the governance excellent. The staff are happy, can have a goof career and have excellent training. Above all it is a very very good care home.

What a right royal party it was. Newstone House were hosts to an open day to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday and wow what a right royal party it was, attended extremely well by family friends and visitors. On arrival we were all met with a glass of bubbly and spent time chatting and looking at all the wonderful decorations made by residents and staff. That was followed by a delicious cream tea and fantastic live entertainment by the Land Girls. Congratulations to all the dedicated staff who worked tirelessly to give us all an afternoon to remember. On behalf of everyone who attended I would like to thank you all. Roll on the next party.

Overall Experience
I have had a close friend in Newstone House since November 2015. He is very restricted on his movement and is therefore in need of nursing care. All of the nursing staff and carers that I have come into contact with have been excellent and genuinely caring of my colleague.

The home is very efficiently run – has great facilities for residents. Food - many of the residents eat in an extremely comfortable and well appointed dinning room. As is the case with my friend some residents are unable to get dinning room and they receive their food to their rooms. The menu is varied, well prepared and (although I have not dined there) looks very appetising. There is a pretty day room, cinema room, residents lounge. There is also a comfortable visitors lounge.

There is a team of staff that run entertainment and trips for residents and there are frequent guest- entertainers that come into the home.

I’m thinking of spending my next vacation there!

He was very happy here, and I was so pleased, nobody could have done more for him. The end of his visit staff encouraged my husband by saying "what a pleasure it was to have him here" this I felt really boosted him.

Dad has been a resident for nearly four years and he has thrived in such a friendly, caring environment where all his needs are met. As relatives we are always welcomed with friendly smiles and helpfulness. I would thoroughly recommend the home for it's dedication to resident-centred care.
