Hengist Field Care Centre

My husband has been well looked after since his arrival in February. He enjoys the food but is surprised by the number of biscuits given to him as that was not part of his diet at home. He is not too keen on joining in activities as that was not part of his previous life. Enjoying travelling, bird watching reading, Codewords etc. He sometimes realises that he is missing these things, but he gets family visits at least three times a week.

The staff at this care home are their best asset, my mother was admitted to the home from hospital in April 2021 with severe illness and end of life conditions. The nurse and nursing staff at this site were exceptional in dealing with her multiple conditions including progressive cancer, severe bedsore grade 4 from a previous hospital, severe arthritis, and existing blood clots in right leg, diabetes, back injury and partial paralysis of lower legs, also existing bowel and hernia condition. She was also partially deaf and blind in one eye. We visited regularly 2 times a week or more until November. My mother was always kept in clean and presentable condition as was her room, the Nurses were informative and skilful and considerate and accurate with information. The reception staff were very helpful, kind and welcoming on every occasion. The personal care staff also turned and changed her very frequently. In my view, this care home is probably the best you will find. The family is very grateful for her care.

They have made it as accessible as possible for us to see her and it is giving us peace of mind that she is amongst friends and well looked after.

Friendly staff, with a clean environment.

My friend received excellent care throughout his stay at Hengist Field Care Centre. Any slight concerns we had were very quickly addressed. During my friends last days, the care was exceptional and I was also impressed by how the staff had all become his friends. The staff looked after us too, especially during my friends last days.

My friend of 31 years, was so active during her lower years - a prolific fundraiser for the conservative association and mayor of Gravesend so I was shocked when she developed dementia and was taken to a care home. Her son lives in Spain so she has no family nearby. I visit her each month and have always found her well looked after in comfortable, clean surroundings. She has a lovely room and access to all amenities. The food looks attractive and well prepared so I no longer worry about her.

Over the years there have been a number of staff members dedicated to the care of mum, and I would like to thank every one of them.

It's hard to leave a review as we were unable to view the home due to Covid. Visiting has just stared again and room is lovely. Met a couple of staff and they were happy to meet us too.

I have very little reason for any negative remarks during the one month stay of my mother. Everything was of a high standard and mostly met what I had led my mother to expect during her stay. However, in the first week, her new dressing gown was lost and not found, even though all her clothes were named. She does not like most dairy products and I requested her tea to be black but still, milk was added. She found it very difficult to understand many of your employees.

During my relative's time in the home, she has been cared for, nursed and generally been extremely well looked after. Both the carers and nursing staff look after my relative with care, consideration and the utmost respect. I cannot praise them enough. My relative is in pain continuously and whilst moving her to wash, change dressings or pads the staff are careful to try and minimise any unnecessary movement to help alleviate any pain.

My wife has been at Hengist Field for the past 9 years. During this time I have had every confidence in the care given. My feeling for the staff during the past months is one of extreme admiration. Dignity and respect not only for my wife but me also.

When visiting the home I was met by a lovely lady on reception, she was very helpful and accommodating. I was then met by two other carers who sat with me when visiting my dad, again very kind staff. We had a lovely cake made by the home for Dad's birthday which made the day, especially for my dad.

I came to Hengist Field for my husband's birthday today. I was met by the lovely helpful receptionist and the caring team. We had a pleasant birthday visit which made the day special, also with a beautiful cake.

Was welcomed by the lovely lady on reception. It was my dad's birthday and it was made very special, we had a lovely cake made by the home. Both the carers who I met were very helpful and caring.

I have been impressed with the care that Hengist Field Care Centre has shown. At all times, they have been kind and friendly to my father, and have treated him with dignity this happens at all times. Everybody is friendly from all the staff.

My father has been a resident of Hengist Field Care Centre for over a year. He has been looked after extremely well and has told me that he loves living at Hengist. On a personal note, we feel that the staff are very approachable and nothing is too much trouble, they are kind, caring and always ready to provide advise and comfort at times of need. We feel as a family very lucky to have been able to get my father a place there.

Nice facility, some issues with plumbing but resolved and always updated by phone in a timely manner. Staff caring and focused on the needs and welfare of residents.

The is my second visit. Staff are pleasant, helpful and the home appears nice, bright and clean.

Can not fault the care, everything has been perfect, the care and the food.
