I would like to say a 'huge' thank you to all the staff from the housekeeping, kitchen, activities, carers, front desk, office and of course the nurse!! For all the kindness, hard work and love that they put into their positions at Prestbury House Care Home, I have never known such commitment and dedication as these wonderful staff have shown towards caring for my mum and our family. We love it here (I wish I had a room)!

My mother has been in Prestbury House since April 2017 and we have all, as a family, been extremely happy with the care that she has received. She was recently in hospital after a heart attack and on her return to the home, the nurses and carers greeted my mother and our family with hugs and kisses. The attention and kindness that they showed us cannot be bought! It was genuine love and joy and will be one of the most special moments of my life. They had made her room special to welcome her "home" and provided a feast for us all!

A week before going for respite care, Mum had blood poisoning which left her less mobile and very unsteady. Over the two weeks, her mobility improved considerably. The staff were supportive, friendly and caring. They demonstrated great patience and understanding. Flowers had been put in her room when she arrived, which was lovely.

I have received exceptional care, patience, skill and outstanding communication on behalf of my mother, following her admittance 14th July 2017.

The care home demonstrates a very high level of dedicated and caring personnel.

My mum has been a resident here for the last five years and her care has been excellent throughout.
The staff are all very caring and go the extra mile.
For example on Mum's birthday today, the staff laid on a wonderful table with flowers and napkins so we could have a Chinese takeaway.

A beautiful cake was made by the chef. All in all, a wonderful care home.

Prestbury House Care Home is a very friendly place.
My Mum has been here for 5 years and I can honestly say her care has been excellent.
The food is good and nourishing.

Mum particularly enjoys meeting her friends (either residents or non-residents) in the bistro for a morning coffee and natter.

My brother moved into this care home in June 2016. From the initial visit prior to deciding which home I was going to place my brother which I assumed was for the rest of his life. I have found the staff (ALL) being very pleasant and caring for my brother's needs. Also, they listen to what my feelings are at the care home.

Care staff are very helpful and kind. I find bedrooms do not have enough storage for long term stays. They need double wardrobes with lower clothes rail and some light inside as it is very dark and difficult to remove and hang up clothes.

Dad was at Prestbury House just over 1 year. He settled in quickly and enjoyed his time here. The staff encouraged him to take outings and join in the activities. They were always happy, eager to help and the atmosphere was bright and cheerful. He had a wonderful 100th birthday and I can't thank them all enough for their support and kindness throughout.

Dad has been in the home now for 4 months now and after an initial settling in period, he now thinks of it as home.
He enjoys the events such as the May Day Morris Dancing and has a rapport with all the staff.

For relatives visiting, the environment is comfortable and welcoming, and the feeling of normality comes in when you can take your dad who has dementia for a coffee in the bistro.

I feel very satisfied with the care and support my sister receives at Prestbury Care Home. All the staff and carers I have met there show a high level of training. They give support and attention to all my sister's needs in connection with her dementia. My sister has a feeling of friendship with the client service manager, which shows in her face even on a down day in her dementia. The meals prepared according to client needs and are appetising and fresh.

Mentioned several times about the toilet seat being loose but nothing seems to be done about it. Kitchen in the dining room could be refurbished as cupboard doors don't fit properly, the kettle is broken and tea and sugar containers have no lids. However, the staff are always pleasant and management are understanding and helpful with any issues and my mother has made lots of progress since being at the home. Lounge and bedrooms are nicely decorated and feels homely and my mother seems to enjoy the minibus trips.

If there are any shortcomings in the services provided to my husband by Prestbury House, I feel from my observations that it is because there are too few staff for the huge amount of work and caring that needs to be done alone. I have visited my husband every day for nearly five months and am satisfied that he is clean, warm, well fed and safe and is as contented as can be expected in these harrowing circumstances.

Our first experience was really good and the management sold the home to us, but it was a bank holiday when my husband was going in and all the main staff were on holiday so the care and nursing was not good for a newcomer. Lack of communication was the trouble. No one asked my husband's needs and what he could and couldn't do. Once we had sorted this, the home was good for what was needed and my husband was well looked after. Will probably use it again.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for almost three years we have always been happy with her care, but a few years ago she was moved down to the first floor. We were going to remove her because of her treatment at that time, she was left in an empty room crying because management at the time had not informed staff that she was moving. It was only for the staff on both floors, that we didn't move her to another home which had a room for her.

I have recommended your home to a few people some who went in for respite. The staff in Prestbury House are the best. We have always said that they are the backbone of your nursing home.

The care delivered by the staff is given in a manner that is a privilege to witness. The dignity of my uncle is always respected and his needs are i.e hygiene, diet, the stimulus is more than met.

The building and facilities are very satisfactory overall once he arrived the family are very satisfied with the care our uncle receives.

My mother receives excellent care and is made comfortable. Her room is spacious and tastefully furnished. The food is varied, appetising and well presented. The staff are extremely kind, respectful, and competent and they try to bring joy and laughter to the residents. There are stimulating activities and the home is well maintained. It is expensive but I realise it is inevitable.

Hello, my name is Nishi, and I am the Home Manager here at Prestbury House.

I have over 30 years of experience working in hospitals across the world and worked as a Registered General Nurse and midwife in India from 1990 to 1994. I have worked in care home management for over 15 years.

Working in various roles across different organisations, primarily within a care home, has given me a deep appreciation for creating a nurturing and joyful environment for our residents. I am most inspired by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, where each person feels valued, respected and celebrated for who they are and the journey they’ve lived. My goal is to bring warmth and happiness, to make our residents feel safe, well-cared for and uplifted. Being in a care home should feel like the beginning of a fulfilling chapter, where every resident’s wishes are honoured and their days are filled with joy, dignity and purpose.
