Dad has been in the home now for 4 months now and after an initial settling in period, he now thinks of it as home.
He enjoys the events such as the May Day Morris Dancing and has a rapport with all the staff.
For relatives visiting, the environment is comfortable and welcoming, and the feeling of
normality comes in when you can take your dad who has dementia for a coffee in the bistro.

I feel very satisfied with the care and support my sister receives at Prestbury Care Home. All the staff and carers I have met there show a high level of training. They give support and attention to all my sister's needs in connection with her dementia. My sister has a feeling of friendship with the
client service manager, which shows in her face even on a down day in her dementia. The meals prepared according to client needs and are appetising and fresh.

Mentioned several times about the toilet seat being loose but nothing seems to be done about it. Kitchen in the dining room could be refurbished as cupboard doors don't fit properly, the kettle is broken and tea and sugar containers have no lids. However, the staff are always pleasant and management
are understanding and helpful with any issues and my mother has made lots of progress since being at the home. Lounge and bedrooms are nicely decorated and feels homely and my mother seems to enjoy the minibus trips.

If there are any shortcomings in the services provided to my husband by Prestbury House, I feel from my observations that it is because there are too few staff for the huge amount of work and caring that needs to be done alone. I have visited my husband every day for nearly five months and am satisfied
that he is clean, warm, well fed and safe and is as contented as can be expected in these harrowing circumstances.

Our first experience was really good and the management sold the home to us, but it was a bank holiday when my husband was going in and all the main staff were on holiday so the care and nursing was not good for a newcomer. Lack of communication was the trouble. No one asked my husband's needs and
what he could and couldn't do. Once we had sorted this, the home was good for what was needed and my husband was well looked after. Will probably use it again.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for almost three years we have always been happy with her care, but a few years ago she was moved down to the first floor. We were going to remove her because of her treatment at that time, she was left in an empty room crying because management at the time had not
informed staff that she was moving. It was only for the staff on both floors, that we didn't move her to another home which had a room for her.
I have recommended your home to a few people some who went in for respite. The staff in Prestbury House are the best. We have always said that they are the backbone of your nursing home.

The care delivered by the staff is given in a manner that is a privilege to witness. The dignity of my uncle is always respected and his needs are i.e hygiene, diet, the stimulus is more than met.
The building and facilities are very satisfactory overall once he arrived the family are very satisfied
with the care our uncle receives.

My mother receives excellent care and is made comfortable. Her room is spacious and tastefully furnished. The food is varied, appetising and well presented. The staff are extremely kind, respectful, and competent and they try to bring joy and laughter to the residents. There are stimulating activities
and the home is well maintained. It is expensive but I realise it is inevitable.

The care staff who look after residents with dementia carry out their duties efficiently treating each resident according to their individual needs and the needs vary considerably. What impresses me is the dedication of the care staff sometimes in difficult circumstances to give each individual the
personalised care that they need and that's done with professionalism, respect and good humour. The domestic staff carry out their duties efficiently and most have a friendly rapport with the residents. Overall I am satisfied with the care my wife receives.

When faced with an emergency need for an EMI unit for my mother in the area, the management at Prestbury House Care Home were extremely helpful, pro-active, sympathetic and gave valuable support and advice, recognising the urgency. They worked at an incredible pace to secure a room, carefully assessing
and meeting her complex needs. Throughout her stay, the staff have shown enormous professionalism, skill, empathy and patience. They manage to maintain a safe, calm unit where nothing fazes them. Families are welcomed, communication is brilliant- as is the support they all give to close relatives. I cannot imagine there to be a better haven for those suffering from such a cruel illness as Alzheimer's disease. Thank you.

My husband went into Prestbury House whilst builders were in a home. The second-floor team and the admin ground floor team have been absolutely marvellous. As I have cared for my husband at home I have got into certain ways of how he should be cared for. Prestbury House listened to me and adapted to
the way I had cared for my husband so he wouldn't be distressed. Can't thank them enough.

This was my wife's first respite stay in a care home. Prestbury House impressed my wife on her visit before he stay as she was made very welcome. Then and later when she stayed for two week she felt it did not take her long to feel at home, she enjoyed the company of other residents and really liked
the staff in all areas of the home. All in all she thoroughly enjoyed her stay which has given me and her daughters some peace of mind, knowing she has been well cared for.

The care that my mother received was second to none. She was treated with respect at all times, and all staff respected her dignity at all times. Although my mother was not at Prestbury House for many weeks, there were no issues that arose in any way. The care was excellent, the staff were extremely
professional. The room my mother was in was lovely, it was spotless, as was the rest of the building that I saw in those few weeks.

Overall Dad has received excellent care with patience, expertise and appreciation for his personality and individual needs. He has enjoyed banter with staff and has also really enjoyed trips out in the mini-bus since this has been running. He always enjoyed visits from choirs and musicians and loved
having visits and trips out with us.
We appreciated the open-door policy of always being able to visit for any length of time. The staff were particularly wonderful in the final hours preceding dad's death. Lots of carers came to say goodbye and were visibly upset which was very touching. My only regret was an error last November which led to dad missing his granddaughter's wedding!

Every time I visit and leave my mother I am blown away by the care, affection and love she is shown by the staff. After three and a half years I am very pleased to say that she could not be in better hands. The staff are alert to her needs both mechanical and psychological in a way that is completely

I have over 30 years of experience working in hospitals across the world and worked as a Registered General Nurse and midwife in India from 1990 to 1994. I have worked in care home management for over 15 years.


Working in various roles across different organisations, primarily within a care home, has given me a deep appreciation for creating a nurturing and joyful environment for our residents. I am most inspired by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, where each person feels valued, respected and celebrated for who they are and the journey they’ve lived. My goal is to bring warmth and happiness, to make our residents feel safe, well-cared for and uplifted. Being in a care home should feel like the beginning of a fulfilling chapter, where every resident’s wishes are honoured and their days are filled with joy, dignity and purpose.
