I have been very happy here. My husband came a long time ago and had a stroke, they looked after him wonderfully.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It is our pleasure to look after you and to have cared for your husband. We shall ensure our wonderful West Cliff team know how much you appreciate everything they do for you and how happy you are as part of our very special family.
The care home staff are excellent and are compassionate and professional. My mum loves living in the home and the staff make every effort to provide high-quality care. The management keep me and the family informed and the home is clearly well run. Any time I make a request the home respond quickly and positively.
Thank you so much for your fantastic feedback about West Cliff Hall. It is our pleasure to look after your mum, and it is wonderful to know she loves being in our care. We shall ensure everybody in our West Cliff Hall team sees your very kind words.
My father has resided at West Cliff Hall for about two years and so far, has received excellent care. The staff are caring, attentive and have accommodated him as his level of needed care has increased. They have also kept us well informed of any health issues, even minor ones. We are glad that he is in such good hands.
Thank you so much for your fantastic review of West Cliff House. It's a pleasure to look after your father and we are delighted you are so satisfied with the way in which we are caring for him.
The staff made a lot of effort to make my auntie's birthday surprise so nice. As we have not been able to visit because of the pandemic, it was so nice to finally sit in the beautiful garden again. The staff are very considerate, helpful and caring. All the covid work practices were strictly adhered to but it was still a lovely celebration. Cake, food and decorations were wonderful. Thanks, everyone.
Thank you so much for your very kind comments about West Cliff Hall. It was our pleasure to organise your auntie's birthday surprise and we are so glad you enjoyed everything about it. We are delighted that we are now able to arrange such activities, under the current Covid-19 guidance. We shall...
My lovely mum had been living at home with us, but I had been struggling to cope with three teenage daughters and the constant care that she required, suffering from Alzheimer's. She originally only went to West Cliff Hall for respite care whilst we went on holiday, which I found traumatic. I remember leaving her there and hating myself, but she actually ended up staying permanently, as she settled in so well. It was a heartbreaking decision and I found it so difficult to hand over the care of my mother to someone else. The staff at West Cliff Hall are all amazing people and their cheerful kindness and professionalism offer a safe, caring environment, making the best of an agonising situation. Together, they provide wonderful care, constant companionship, fun activities, smiles, hugs and compassion. The home is beautiful, with lovely rooms and a fabulous setting, but the staff make it an amazing home. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of West Cliff Hall. We are so glad you are happy with the care and support we gave to your lovely mum after what was a very difficult time for you all. We shall ensure all our team see your fantastic feedback about them.
My mother likes her room. The food is good, but the portions are too large. She gets on well with her carers but does sometimes feel isolated. She would like them to stop in for a chat without making her feel they need to get on with the next task. They seem to rush up and down the corridors a lot. She has found the lockdown very difficult and looks forward to face to face visits again.
Thank you for your feedback about West Cliff Hall. Please do get in contact with us if you would like to discuss, in confidence, some of the issues you have raised here. We look forward to welcoming you when we can organise some more regular face to face visits with your mother.
All staff provide excellent care and kindness. All staff covering food. Socialising with special activities provided by all carers. Including being able to enjoy the garden and views of gardening, including a few shrubs etc.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of West Cliff Hall. It is our pleasure to look after you and we are so glad you are happy with the care and kindness you are enjoying here. We hope we can all enjoy our spectacular garden with its views across Southampton Water when the weather gets a little bit warmer and do some gardening to make it even more beautiful.
I would like to express the heartfelt gratitude of my family and I for the outstanding care my mother has received as a resident of the Mayflower wing of West Cliff Hall care home. All members of the team have displayed consistent, professional, caring, compassionate dedication to delivering holistic care both to my mother and supporting my sister and I after my mother's severe stroke and subsequent TIA. It has been clear to see the bond and trust my mother shares with the staff and the strong communication with attending district nurses and their ancillary team. They all strive to give excellence in these challenging times.
Thank you so much for your superb review of West Cliff Hall. It has been a challenging time for all of us, but our main priority, at all times, has been to continue offering consistent, professional care to our residents while keeping you, their loved ones, constantly informed about them. Mum was transferred to the Mayflower wing of Westcliff Hall from hospital following a stroke. We have been so grateful for the excellent care Mum has received, the dedication of the staff and the connection Mum has made with all the staff. As Mum sadly has reached the end of her life, we were able to witness first hand just what wonderful care Mum was receiving, and also how supportive the staff were with my sister and I.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review at this saddest of times for you and your family. We are so sorry for your loss, but we are happy that we were able to look after your Mum, and support you at this time. We will share your comments with our West Cliff Hall team who cared for her.
Recently, his well being has failed, and I have to say the staff have been marvellous. We have benefitted from visits during these strange times. The young lady on reception is marvellous as are two of the care staff in particular who have interacted with us in an honest and sympathetic way. They have organised swift, short term visits, explained medical issues and made us feel very welcome in what must be a time of high work.
My father’s stay at West Cliff has been and still is a reassuring one. He is warm, clean, well-fed and I feel - valued.
Well done the West Cliff team.
Thank you so much for your very positive review of West Cliff Hall. We really appreciate your comments and feedback about how we have been supporting and caring for your father during this very challenging time. We shall ensure all the team at West Cliff know how much you appreciate what they are doing for your father.
My special thanks go to the two senior carers. They got to know Mum’s ways and knew how to get the best from her. But thanks must also go to all the staff for their love, care and compassion. We could not cope without them.
Although we did not get to Mum much in the last 6-months because of the Coronavirus, we were able to video call and phone her, but it was the last week of her life that we appreciate most. In our PPE, my sister and I were allowed to sit with her and during that time the staff looked after us too. As we sat with Mum, it was heartening to hear that they were kind and caring to everyone.
I cannot recommend West Cliff Hall enough.
Thank you for your very kind words about West Cliff Hall. We are delighted you and your sister were happy with the way in which we cared for your Mum during her years with us. We shall share your lovely review with our team, especially the two senior carers who got to know her so well.
In difficult times, the one thing we haven't had to worry about is our mum's care. They have kept her safe from the virus and done everything they can to keep us in contact with her. It's been difficult as her communication has deteriorated considerably. The team has tried Facetime calls and allowed visits but under very strict rules. Despite the difficulties caused by masks and distancing rules, the staff have always been on hand to support her. At times she has been distraught when we leave but we know that she is taken special care of until she is feeling better again. Staff have even stepped into the role of a hairdresser and given her manicures to keep her feeling good about herself. It's been great to receive photos of her looking well and happy too. Mum can't say much these days but the way she smiles at, and holds of the hands of her carers, you can see that she loves them. They are her family in really difficult times. Thank you to everyone at West Cliff Hall.
What beautiful words about West Cliff Hall. Thank you so much for wonderful review which we will share with all our terrific team there. Your Mum is greatly loved by all of us and it is our pleasure to have her here as part of our West Cliff Hall family. These have been challenging times for us, but our priority throughout has been to keep all our residents safe and happy.
What used to be a fabulous care/nursing home has become utterly substandard. The care of patients has deteriorated, medicine errors not uncommon. The food choices and quality are now very poor for residents. The management's ability to tackle and resolve issues is lacking. Most of the care staff try their best in challenging staffing conditions. One or two staff are simply appalling and are inadequately dealt with by management. We got my father in law out of there and he's now thriving in an independent care home.
Thank you for your comments, which we do not feel are a true reflection of the situation. We are continuing to improve our facilities at West Cliff Hall, and we wish you and your father in law well for the future.
My Father spent 4 years at West Cliff Hall. In that time he has seen 8 different people in charge of the home, that tells its own story. Unfortunately, the manager in charge now is appalling and is well out of her depth. The care is very poor, and they do not take well to any criticism of their care. They are looking for clients who do not have a voice, thus will not receive any complaints to CQC. The food is awful and has been a constant issue, but never dealt with. Medicines are often messed up and concerns are never dealt with. The rooms are lovely and big, the facilities are really nice, and they do have some lovely staff, unfortunately, some are very poor. In my opinion, I would not recommend this home to anybody looking for competent care of their loved one
Thank you for your comments, which we do not feel are a true reflection of the situation. We are continuing to improve our facilities at West Cliff Hall, and we wish you and your father well for the future.
My Mother has been a resident for about 4 years and her increasing frailty has been managed with kindness and compassion. As far as I can tell, the COVID crisis has been very well managed and communication with relatives has been good.
Thank you so much for your lovely review of West Cliff Hall. It has been our pleasure to look after your Mother during these past four years. These past few months during the COVID crisis have presented many challenges but it has been very important to us that you and your Mother have been able to keep in contact throughout.
A massive thank you to all the staff for looking after Mum. Although I live in Spain I've been able to keep in contact via video calls and phone calls provided by staff that are so kind. I have always felt that throughout the pandemic all measures of safety have been taken and I felt that mum was safe which gave me peace of mind as I am unable to come over and visit. Thank you once again, keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review of West Cliff Hall. It is our pleasure to keep you and your mum connected during these very challenging times so that you are reassured that she is safe, happy and well in our care. We shall pass on your lovely comments to the team who are looking after her.
Very good management.
Would recommend all my friends and family to this care home.
What lovely words about West Cliff Hall. We are so pleased to hear you would recommend it to your friends and family. We shall share your wonderful comments with our superb team there.
They thoroughly enjoyed their stay. In particular, being looked after. They also enjoyed the social activities that were available to them
Thank you for your review, Mike. It's wonderful to hear that your parents-in-law enjoyed their two-week stay and were able to take part in some of our social events. Respite care is an important part of our work and we would be delighted to welcome them back again for another break.
