Hatfield House has been my dad's home for the last 5 years and my mum also lived there before passing away 5 years ago . During that time Tanya and the team have been wonderful - professional, caring and attentive. The love and care provided to my dad is brilliant. Everyone is aware of my dad's routine and his likes and dislikes and nothing is ever too much trouble. Over the last 6 months there has been significant staff change; however I believe that staffing is now much more settled. It is lovely to have Tanya the manager back and there have been some excellent appointments to management (this is taking nothing away at all from those who were in those posts previously). Following a recent incident involving my dad, James and the team investigated this thoroughly, kept me updated throughout and provided me with next steps at every stage which I greatly appreciated. I would recommend Hatfield House and couldn't think of a better place for my dad. Thank you everyone!

The staff at all levels do their very best to look after the residents and so i would not ever take my mother elsewhere - Hatfield House Care Home is the best in my opinion.
It's easy to communicate with the manager, the deputy managers, supervisors and care staff generally - this means I have added confidence in how my mum is looked after.

The only improvement which would help a lot in the current heat wave is air conditioning built-in; the few mobile air con. units are not very effective.

Since my mum has been at Hatfield House the family can relax knowing that she is being cared for in every way. The staff are friendly, caring, respectful and treat residents well. They know them, making sure all their individual needs are met. The team leaders make sure relatives are informed of any changes with care plans or if any outside medical professionals are involved with the residents care. All staff are approachable, they are helpful and respectful. Some go above and beyond in caring for our loved ones.

My Mum has been living at Hatfield House since May 2020 and it really has become "home."
It was extremely difficult making the decision for her to go into full time care as I have had a lot of experience visiting care homes, not all positive, but her being a safeguarding risk made it in her best interests.
I needn't have worried as she has been cared for better than I could've hoped for. In 6 years I have never had a problem.
Should she have any medical issues they are spotted straight away as staff are very vigilant and consistency of staff means they know her well and spot any changes. The team leader informs me and handles everything.
The home is always very clean, does not smell and the food is lovely (I have tried it).

I feel very comfortable when visiting thanks to the staff - they are amazing and treat my Mum with care, respect, patience and understanding. I never worry when I leave as she is in the best possible hands.

My mum has been in Hatfield House for 18 months now. She is happy there. All the staff are very caring from the cook to the managers.
The carers are very caring, respectful and attend to all my mums needs with privacy and dignity.
They inform me of any issues my mum may have and all staff are approachable if I need to talk to them about anything.

Most of all they make my mum feel comfortable just like living at hme.

My marks on the care home reflect the fact that recently it had been necessary for the home to employ agency staff in order to implement a rota for staff.
My concern is that I have witnessed disinterest in the agency staff who have stood around leaving the regular staff under pressure to care for the residents.
This does seem to have improved over the last couple of weeks.
However agency staff is a poor use of resources as it is an expensive option and they are not aware of residents needs.
I am aware the manager is currently on leave, but would question why an effective rotation was not in place and the gap in staffing would indicate that staff must have been working more hours than they should to plug the gaps which could account for high staff turnover and stress.

My only other concern is lack of activities but again this is improving.

My mum moved into Hatfield House after a protracted stay in hospital. As soon as I visited, I felt at ease and felt sure that my mum would be comfortable. She was a little nervous on day one, but that passed as soon as she met the staff and was welcomed with open arms. I was told by the hospital that she would never walk again and that she would be incontinent; both of these are no longer true. The staff have encouraged her to be independent, and she is thriving and happy. She has made friends and looks so much healthier. She loves getting her hair done each week and the lounge snack basket. I am very happy with the decision to place my mum here.

My mum has been on end of life care for a few weeks but has thankfully turned a corner. All made the more possible with the amazing care from all the staff at Hatfield House, who have continued to provide exceptional care to my mum, whilst supporting me on this journey.

I cannot express my gratitude enough, not just for the past few weeks, but also for the past 2 years of care they've provided to my mum. Mum is treated with respect, dignity and shown love and support.

We visit Mum in Hatfield House very regularly and hand on heart I can say we are always impressed and very grateful. Not only is the care excellent but it is truly individualised and given with love and attention to detail . Residents needs clearly differ but all are treated with professionalism and kindness and when appropriate, humour.

Well done to all staff, you are amazing.

Having visited a number of care homes, Hatfield House stood out as the best option for my uncle, and they haven't disappointed. The transition for my uncle wasn't easy at first but the home was able to adjust to my uncle's needs.

The staffing and management have always been friendly, approachable and have always consulted with the family if there has been any issues. The home and my uncle's room is presentable and tidy, the housekeeping staff are forever doing his laundry and my uncle has been treated with care and respect, even when times have been difficult for him.

A double-edged review as firstly my mother-in-law is a resident in Hatfield House and her care has been tremendous. The staff are fantastic and she is really settled. The other part is that my wife is completely settled with her mum being a resident. She no longer has anxiety about her mum's care, no longer has to worry about whether her mum has eaten or taken her meds and most importantly feels that she can comfortably leave her to be OK once she has visited.

If you are looking for hotel standards, then Hatfield is the ideal place, if you are looking for lovely staff then it's also the ideal place.
However if your special person doesn't conform to the "certain way" they should conform to, then it's definitely not the ideal place.
The way my Uncle was treated by the management (2 certain ladies) was appalling. After 6 days of him being there, they were ringing me nearly daily to tell me they "wanted him out". Asking us to go in and support him, we work and did visit regularly!. No care plan put in place, making him get up for breakfast, when clearly he didn't want any. This is all because he had a voice, and disrupted their perfect environment. Even when they knew he had nowhere to go, they insisted that he leave and it was only when he fell whilst in there care did they let him stay 4 more days. I and his social worker did everything they asked of us. Disgusting behavior from management.

This is not a hotel but a care home.
