Trying to provide care at home for frail elderly parents during the pandemic was hard. Many different people were coming and going but my parents still felt horribly isolated. When the situation deteriorated further, I contacted Park View, who could not have been more helpful and supportive. I am very
reassured about their procedures and my parents enjoy great food, good care and lots of stimulating activities. Staff have been very patient with all the questions that have arisen. Parents are doing better. it has certainly been a good move. It is very important to have people I can trust and who work with and support me as well.

My husband has had two visits to Park View. Both giving me a break. I have found all the staff that I have met to be incredibly caring and friendly but most of all efficient. He has enjoyed the activities that are held and all the company around him. He comes home very tidy and clean and happy. I shall
be using Park View often until he needs to go in full time.

From the day my father moved into your home, he has been cared for extremely well. They made I'm welcome, have kept him well and he feels safe. I feel assured he is being looked after. The app keeps me up to date, and I regularly speak to the nursing staff. I highly recommend this home.

My husband was admitted to Park View at the beginning of the lockdown. He is suffering from dementia and I was not able to care for him at home. Unfortunately, I have not been able to visit him but the staff at the home always update me on his condition when I telephone and I have FaceTime calls 2 or
3 times per week. The staff are always helpful and friendly and nothing is too much bother.

After spending two weeks at Park View Care Home, I have been very happy. All the staff were marvellous - nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend Park View to anyone. My sincere thanks to the chef and his team. All the food was first-class and the presentation was also first-class. My thanks
to all the staff and I'm sure on my return home, I shall miss being thoroughly spoilt. All my best wishes to you all.

Excellent care received by my Dad and Mum. All staff professional, caring and undertake their duties with empathy and good humour. Maybe the requirement for more staff to be on hand to ensure rapid response to resident call bells to avoid resident distress in personal care situations.
Reply from Carol Rhind, Manager at Park View Care HomeThank you for your kind review, please be assured that we check the rotas and team on duty regularly to ensure we have lots of hands on deck and also carry out regular call bell audits to ensure the response times are excellent, so I will review these again now to double-check as absolutely no one should be kept waiting. Thank you again for your feedback.

After coming out of hospital my husband was at home for one month bedridden, not able to walk and confined to the bedroom. It was decided he needed 24 hour care and went to Park View on the 10th January where he was well looked after and can now walk with a frame and is still being well looked after.
Another
reason he went to Park View was I could not cope being called five times some nights.

My husband was a resident for 3 1/2 years and during that time he was cared for very well. The staff work extremely hard in difficult situations and sometimes with staff shortages. My husband's end of life care was handled with care and compassion. The staff also cared for and supported me.
Reply from Carol Rhind, Manager at Park View Care HomeThank you for your review, as always we really appreciate your feedback and we are pleased you felt your husband was cared for very well. It was our privilege to be able to support you both and we have some amazing memories of his music and the artwork he completed while he was with us at Park View, not forgetting the many funny moments. Regarding the staffing, I am sure you can appreciate it is a very busy community but we are able to ensure the correct team levels and hours are available with our processes, systems and checking routines. As you are aware we work as one team, so it is not only the care team but the other departments who are also available to support the residents. We will cherish the many memories, happy and sad and please keep in touch as you are always very welcome.

Am very pleased with all aspects of the care home. The staff are caring and work very hard. Having had some lunches, the food is of a very good standard and there is a good variety of choices. If residents request a particular meal it is readily provided. Many thanks to all.

My aunt has been a resident in the home for nearly 4 years and has been very happy the whole time. I cannot fault the care she has received and the staff have always treated her with dignity and kindness. The rooms are maintained superbly and kept very clean. She had to have palliative care during this
period and the staff were fantastic towards her and us. She, unfortunately, died with dignity mid-December.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.885)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.885) out of 10 for Park View Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.885 for Park View Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (414 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 461 Ratings = 4.885
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park View Care Home is based on 39 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 69 registered maximum number of service users is 13.8, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

A very warm welcome to Park View care Home

I have been working in health and Social Care services for over 30 years. My career has covered many interesting areas from emergency care, acute services, community nursing, qualifying as a district nurse and management. I made the transition to care home management in 2012.

I really enjoy working with people and what I love about this role is I can make a difference, ensuring that each of our residents is supported as an individual with dignity and respect. I love working with the care home team to support our residents as partners to fulfil their lifestyle choices, revisiting hobbies and developing new passions and lived experiences. Importantly, time to have fun and time to reflect.

I truly believe in a ‘hands on' approach working with the team and residents delivering quality care with compassion.

I look forward to welcoming you and your families to Park View Care Home
