My husband was a resident for 3 1/2 years and during that time he was cared for very well. The staff work extremely hard in difficult situations and sometimes with staff shortages. My husband's end of life care was handled with care and compassion. The staff also cared for and supported me.

Reply from Carol Rhind, Manager at Park View Care Home

Thank you for your review, as always we really appreciate your feedback and we are pleased you felt your husband was cared for very well. It was our privilege to be able to support you both and we have some amazing memories of his music and the artwork he completed while he was with us at Park...

Am very pleased with all aspects of the care home. The staff are caring and work very hard. Having had some lunches, the food is of a very good standard and there is a good variety of choices. If residents request a particular meal it is readily provided. Many thanks to all.

My aunt has been a resident in the home for nearly 4 years and has been very happy the whole time. I cannot fault the care she has received and the staff have always treated her with dignity and kindness. The rooms are maintained superbly and kept very clean. She had to have palliative care during this period and the staff were fantastic towards her and us. She, unfortunately, died with dignity mid-December.

I am a volunteer for Pets as Therapy, and I have been visiting Park View twice weekly with my dog, Gracie, an 11-year-old Golden Retriever, since its opening several years ago. We are always made to feel that our visits are important for the welfare of the residents, and we always receive a warm welcome from the manager and staff.

I cannot comment on the quality of the food, but the menus always appear to be interesting and varied. We are chaperoned throughout our visit, which is a basic rule of the Charity.

The public rooms are clean and tidy, and the staff have been successful in making them quite homely. Residents' rooms are clean and as tidy as the occupants wish to keep them !!

The Activities Team deserve a special mention because of the many and varied arrangements they make for film and slide shows, wildlife lectures and hobby type activities, Open Days, and Seasonal parties.

If I was responsible for finding accommodation for an elderly relative, it would be Park View.

Mum was admitted to Park View at the end of a short and sudden illness. This was not the plan, but sometimes things just work out for the best and this was one of those occasions. She was so content and happy here and could not have been better cared for anywhere else. All the staff were so thoughtful, caring and professional.

My mum was resident at Park View for over 3 years. I found the care she was given was first class. The staff were very patient with her. Everyone was very friendly including catering and housekeeping staff. Staff would go out of their way to chat to you. The rooms were always clean and a good variety of food. The gardens and lounge areas were always well kept and the gardens were a haven during the summer.

Wonderful care, well organised care team and very helpful/efficient management team. Bright rooms and communal areas. Pretty garden and attractive balcony overlooking neighbouring park. Home cooked food. I found it particularly helpful having a named team leader who I could call to find out how my mother was each day.

Park View, Ipswich is located on the outskirts of the town and opposite one of the town's major parks.

My mother was a resident here for her last six months, and as a family we were very grateful for the care she received. When she passed away I wanted to give something back, and have been a volunteer at PV for nearly two years The building and grounds provide an excellent atmosphere, and the staff are very attentive and friendly; which helps the residents feel at home.

Park View was opened 6 years ago and is more like a hotel than a nursing home. The premises are kept very clean at all times. The food is excellent and is served in dining rooms on each floor. Staff are generally very helpful and respond well to all reasonable requests.

On the whole, I would not hesitate to recommend Park View to any person needing respite or permanent care.

I chose Park View for respite care whilst my daughter( who I live with on a permanent basis) son-in-law and grandson had a two week holiday. I have difficulty getting about whilst waiting for hip surgery and therefore needed some help. By making this decision it gave them and myself reassurance as to my care and wellbeing. I have been very well cared for with any help needed with friendly, cheerfulness and caring staff which did radiate through to residents.

I am really happy with the care that my mother is getting at the home. It is more like a 5 star hotel than a care home. Staff are always happy to help and are friendly, far better than other care homes we looked at.

The care that has been given to my husband has been second to none. He went to the home aged 59 and passed away very recently at the age of 60. The staff have always been compassionate and professional to not only him but to all his family and visitors at all times, from cleaners to nursing staff, receptionists, chefs etc. I can not thank them enough.

I am proud to say I commissioned The Cambridgeshire Care Home in 2016 and was the manager until 2019, having worked at First Care Homes since 2011. I returned in 2022.

I have worked in the social care sector as a registered manager in a home and regional capacity for over 25 years since leaving the NHS, where I was a ward sister.

I am a Registered Nurse and have a Degree in Gerontological Nursing, the Registered Managers Award and also Level 5 in management and leadership.

I love this home and want the staff to feel the same, as this then impacts our residents' experience and helps them feel at home right from day one
