My dad became a resident of Park View Care Home, Ipswich in January 2018. From the start, he was looked after extremely well. All staff were very attentive to his needs as he was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and also had bad continence issues.
As a caring family, we are so thankful for the care my dad received whilst he was in the home. He settled in very well during his time there and nothing was too much trouble with all the carers at the home.

Sadly he passed away on 8th May 2018 but he was looked after so well right until the very end of his life.

Park View was always immaculate, both in and out.
We made good use of the lovely terrace and 'big window' area on the top floor, made my mother feel connected to the real world of people and traffic.
Food appetising and favourites noted.
I never dreaded visiting.

All staff respected our wishes.

Overall Experience

My husband has been a resident on the Dementia floor for 9 months and has never once asked to come home. The care is exceptional and activities arranged for mornings and afternoons are excellent, hence the attention he gets is obviously the reason he is so happy.

Our daughter married on 2nd September and the Park View Manager kindly loaned us a carer for 3 hours. The carer had dressed him in his suit ready for when our daughter arrived in a vintage car at Chantry Close. Staff gave them a really warm send off. On arrival at the church, her father was able to walk her down the aisle, which was so emotional. We couldn't have coped without the chosen carer who was exceptional, sitting with him in the front pew helping him to trace the order of service and generally on hand to help him with his personal needs and placing him in position for photos, etc.

Thank you so much for such love and kindness shown to us all on this special day and every day I visit.

Overall Experience
Mum has now been resident at Park View Care Home for a year. It was a very difficult time for mum, dad, my brother, sister and I when we realised we could no longer care for mum at home. The staff at Park View were kind, caring and supported all of us through this difficult transition. We were encouraged to surround mum with her own belonging, memories from home, photographs etc. Dad visits daily and is welcomed and supported as well as mum.
Park View has an excellent activity programme, mum has vascular dementia and reminiscence and activities to encourage physical and mental well being are essential.
The care provided is individualised and the carers are responsive to mums needs, the surroundings are of a very high standard, clean and homely.
The food is of a very high standard and on several occasions, we have held family celebrations at the home.

I am happy to recommend Park View and when I discussed this review with mum she too is happy to recommend Park View to other people.

My mother was one of the first residents when the home opened as new. She received excellent care during the last five years and joined in the many activities. All the staff treated her like family. Sadly, today we held the wake in the care home and many of the staff waved her off to the crematorium. The last days of her life were filled with constant visits from the caring staff. I can't praise them enough. First class care.

I recently came home from the United States with my family for a vacation and this was our first time seeing Park View. My dad is a resident in the dementia unit and I cannot praise these people enough for the care he gets. The staff are wonderful not only with him but the whole family, the food looked and smelled delicious and generous portion sizes as well as a good variety to choose from. The place was lovely and clean and every staff member really made me feel confident that Dad was well taken care of.

My mother had a very enjoyable two week stay (respite for my father). She had previously been totally resistant to going into a 'home' but has now said she would happily return to Park View if necessary in the future.

The environment created by the very friendly staff is excellent.

My father has only been at the care home a short time but enjoys the activities that are put on each day. Today, the care home had put on a lovely garden party for the residents and their families. Seeing my dad enjoy himself so much is a real tonic and credit to all the staff for laying on such a lovely day, The staff are all very caring and I am really happy that my dad is being so well looked after. Thank you so much.

I am proud to say I commissioned The Cambridgeshire Care Home in 2016 and was the manager until 2019, having worked at First Care Homes since 2011. I returned in 2022.

I have worked in the social care sector as a registered manager in a home and regional capacity for over 25 years since leaving the NHS, where I was a ward sister.

I am a Registered Nurse and have a Degree in Gerontological Nursing, the Registered Managers Award and also Level 5 in management and leadership.

I love this home and want the staff to feel the same, as this then impacts our residents' experience and helps them feel at home right from day one
