This care home is more like a hotel. The staff are so polite and very caring towards the residents. My auntie has really settled well after her initial confusion. She always looks very well although today she was a little untidy. Her glasses are missing and I have reported it to the staff and they have assured me that they will find them.

Reply from David Martins, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Admiral Court

Thank you for your comments and high scores regarding Admiral Court. We are sorry that your auntie's glasses have been lost, but we are grateful that you have let the staff know and we will endeavour to find them.

Staffing continues to be an issue. Rarely the correct number of staff to residents. The home has a lovely welcoming reception team who always make visitors welcome. Some very good team members who are very caring.

The home has provided good care. The hair and nail service is a positive and she loves to feel pampered. She has been with the home now for two years and is now feeling that this is her home. The staff are so good with her and make her feel loved and always go the extra mile.

She has formed true connections with certain staff. She loves the fact that one staff member can bring her dog in.

The food is good and she is catered for as she has a special diet.

The management is now restricted to provide a better quality of service and we are happy.

The staff are always busy and always welcome us with a smile. The lines of communication are good.

The redevelopment of the home is almost finished.

This is the resident's home and I have to say although expensive it is where I want my family member to live safely and well looked after.

They have dealt with the medical issues quickly and has always kept me up to date with all that is happening to my family member.

Admiral Court is a place of miracles. My precious Mum has lived here since December 2014 and despite her advancing Alzheimer's and being put on a palliative pathway in January 2018, she is happy, content and living her life to the full. Today she is sat enjoying the sunshine and fresh air and singing in French. This is all possible because of the amazing care she receives here, surrounded by patience, respect and love.

Thank you, Admiral Court, for taking care of Mum in a way her family never could.

Reply from Carl Roberts, Customer Relationship Manager at Hallmark Admiral Court

Thank you ever so much Michelle, for these kind words. It is a true delight to have read what you have written and thank you for taking the time to review the home. We are so pleased that your Mum continues to be happy with us.

Before choosing this home do not be taken in by the aesthetics.
Badly managed, understaffed, overpriced and definitely not a dementia home!
Complaints policy non-existent.

The details above are also out of date, there is no rummage room and no manager of that name there.

Admiral Court is the best care home we looked at when choosing for Mum. We have not been disappointed at all. Staff are excellent and care for Mum with the utmost dignity. The home is very clean and offers a welcoming environment which makes Mum feel safe and secure.

Following a recommendation, I visited the home and was greeted by the very friendly Business Manager. Whilst looking round we were blown away by the home. Spotlessly clean, no bad smells, pleasant staff, great food choice, hairdressing salon and more. The manager was very upfront with us and answered all our questions. When my mum moved into Admiral Court, she was so happy, loved her posh bedroom and ensuite, we described it like a five star hotel. Mum was so unhappy and sad in the previous Care Home, however, here at Admiral Court she was a different person, she loved how friendly and caring all the staff were, including the other residents. We appreciated the cost was slightly higher than other Care Homes but how can you put a price on a persons happiness and care for one's needs. Besides the cost, we felt, was very reasonable. Sadly mum passed away on the 1st October 2018, a few weeks after moving in, due to old age and her heart just gave up. We were glad she passed away in a safe and caring place.

The care my parents have received has been absolutely fantastic. I cannot express well enough how kind the staff are at Admiral Court. I mean all staff - from reception, nurses, carers, handyman and kitchen. My parents were so fond of the staff and the place itself.

Thank you all.

There are times when there just aren't enough carers on duty, this leads to lots of problems, not least immobile residents getting little or no attention.

5 years of inflation-busting increased fees make this home poor value for money.

The reception my husband and I experienced at Admiral Court upon his admission just over a month ago was efficient, kind and reassuring and such a relief to me on leaving him there. The care has continued during his stay. He has settled well and the staff both caring and managerial continue extremely efficient and dedicated. From feeling very apprehensive and upset leaving my husband in their care I now feel reassured and confident with their care of him.

I very much enjoy visiting him in the atmosphere of welcome the whole staff have created.

With over 25 years in social care, I’m proud to be General Manager at Admiral Court Care Home, where my passion for care truly comes to life.

I joined Hallmark after being inspired by its focus on living well with dementia — and I’ve never looked back. Every day is different, filled with teamwork, energy, and purpose. I love supporting others to grow, creating a happy and safe home for residents and staff alike. Outside work, I enjoy time with my family, travelling, swimming, and relaxing with a good film and a glass of wine.

Kay PalmerJob Title:Customer Relationship Manager

I am very humbled to have a job where I get to help families and loved ones on their journey in making a very difficult decision to come into care, easier.

I always wanted to make a positive difference in someone’s life, even if just a little, being a Customer Relationship Manager helps me do this every day. Taking a little of the emotional burden they are feeling away, but most of all letting them know they are not alone and I am here to walk that journey with them, side by side.

To make a difference to someone’s life is a truly special position to be in. My job enables me to do this every day. I love what I do.
