To my dear friends in Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre. This is a belated thank you for the wonderful care you gave me to get back on my feet. While I have been at home, I have managed to get back to my studio to put myself through a dance class, not yet Royal Ballet standard but getting there
slowly. I could not have done this without you all. Thank you so much for all your patience and constant encouragement. I miss you terribly and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

My sister was admitted to the ABI following a stroke which had left her critically ill and very limited use of her right side and had affected her speech and memory. From the outset, a pathway for recovery was clear with all ABI staff providing knowledgeable care at an extremely high standard - the
emphasis was always on supporting my sister to regain movement and to promote her independence. Staff were all very friendly and always on had to support and advise us as a family as we also supported her, helping with advice and information. ABI has maintained to a very high standard of hygiene and cleanliness; the meals were excellent, and the facilities for both physical and cognitive rehab were appropriate for supporting a range of needs. My sister remained at the ABI for around two months, and I am certain that she wouldn't receive the intensive input that she had there. We will always be grateful for the care, kindness and professional support that she received there. Thank you.

Excellent care for my grannie. In difficult covid circumstances, she received loving support from staff and end of life care. There was one member of staff, however, who was unpleasant to my grandmother but it was dealt with, and the staff moved to another area.

My mother has been in Manton Heights for nine months. I have visited mostly three times a week. I have been very impressed by the care given to my mum. The staff have all been wonderful and to the later stages of my mother's life have treated her with such kindness and dignity. She was always clean
and well dressed. Her room was comfortable and clean. I was very pleased that I choose Manton Heights as the care home for mum.

My mum has been at Manton Heights for over a year now, and I wanted to commend the manager and his wonderful team. Most notably the new unit manager and has always been there for any queries in these recent stressful months with Covid-19, as has the manager who makes the time to pick up the phone and
deal with any queries. All the team go above and beyond in their roles, and there is a genuine feeling of care and respect for all residents and staff alike. Almost every day, I had a lovely call or voice message from the lady who heads reception, to let me know Mum was doing well that day. Three ladies, in particular, are always there to help Mum through any difficult times, and call me to help calm Mum on the odd occasion she is feeling distressed or confused. To have had no cases of Covid-19 in the home throughout this time has been a major achievement, and I am sure all the families of the residents can't thank you all enough!
Reply from Jasmeet Rai, Associate Director at Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI CentreThank you so much for your lovely feedback, we'll be sure to share it with our team as we know how much it will mean to them that their support has helped both your mum and yourself during these challenging times - we aim to support not only our residents but their families too.

My mother has been at the home now for 3 years. In this time she has been cared for by the staff in a very caring and respectful way. Recently a new manager has taken over and has made a good few changes to the running of the home and I have to say they are for the better.
Reply from Jasmeet Rai, Associate Director at Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI CentreThank you very much for taking the time to leave a review, your feedback is invaluable to both any potential families who are looking for a care home and to us so that we can learn and continue to strive to provide the highest quality of care.

I wanted to praise a member of staff who this past weekend went above and beyond her normal duties. She professionally and enthusiastically supported my family to clean a room (carpets) so that my mum could change rooms on the return from hospital following a fall. The staff knew that Mum was due to
move to the higher dependency, but the room had not been deep cleaned. This member of staff rolled up her sleeves and helped make it happen.
I don't know if I would recommend at present, but Manton Heights is under a new manager, who seems to be making some positive changes to improve the care and facilities.

Not what I was lead to believe - I was informed it was like a hotel. Food is disgusting - OK if you like herbs (loads of them). Even when it is OK, such as Sunday lunch, they have run out of meat. Not always an evening drink given.

The whole family would like to thank the staff at Manton Heights for the wonderful care they gave to my father over the last 11 months of his life. His mobility was becoming severely limited, due to arthritis, so he agreed that he should move to the home to be closer to me. We all noticed that he became
so much more relaxed when he settled in, which was wonderful. He always told us that the staff treated him with dignity and told his friends that he was pleased he had moved, which was obviously a comfort to us. He got to know many of the staff very well and he enjoyed their company. It was wonderful to have him living so close to me and many family members were able to visit for coffee and a chat He was very frail when he moved into the home but we enjoyed much quality time over the last months of his life. I would highly recommend the home; it has a wonderfully calm and caring environment, excellent staff, was always very clean and comfortable with good food, the laundry and maintenance services were most efficient. We could all relax in the knowledge that my father was perfectly content and being very well looked after.

A well-run care home in a purpose-built building. From day one the management and staff co-operated with our family to ensure the well-being of my wife. They consulted us on her likes and dislikes and gave frequent reports on the state of health and progress. It only took her a few days to settle in
and enjoy the care given and it was only her sudden and unexpected death which ended her stay.

I have had the hardest few months of my life.... my dad has Alzheimer’s diagnosed in 2013, last year he was unable to continue living independently so he moved in with me. I could not cope and was at my wit's end. I felt ashamed and useless. I had no choice but to look for residential care.
I met with
the Manager and he was so supportive, I’m not ashamed to say I cried all over him. He assessed my Dad, he was wonderful with him. The manager left and my Dad said 'well he was nice'!! He has not said that about anyone for ages.
He moved to Manton Heights and I cannot describe how much support we have received, the staff are amazing with him. He’s like a different person when he’s there. I’m not sure how they do it but they do thank you to each and every one. I know our family is extremely lucky to have your support.

I can't recommend the facility and staff at Manton Heights enough.
The care, respect and dignity they provide ae top quality, without exception, they are always happy to talk to family and friends about anything. Very supportive at what was a very difficult time to the family. My only request would
be for more activities for those who are still wanting to be active, gardening, walking, card games, craft, sewing, painting, bowling and swimming.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.647)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.647) out of 10 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 51 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.647 for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is calculated as follows: ( (417 Excellents x 5) + (136 Goods x 4) + (30 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 586 Ratings = 4.647
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manton Heights Care Centre & ABI Centre is based on 48 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 91 registered maximum number of service users is 18.2, which has been reached with 48 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
