Overall Experience

My Aunt has been living at Yarningdale for around 6 years. She spends much time in her room/bed sleeping but over the recent weeks, care staff have had more success in moving her to sit in communal lounges to help her engage with activities and increase social interaction.

Her unit staff contacted me to ask whether I could purchase a remote controlled, reclining chair for her to make the transition from her bed to chair as smooth and comfortable as possible. I worked closely with the staff, taking their recommendation and guidance in choosing the perfect chair for her. They also helped me coordinate the delivery logistics, taking their time to answer all of my questions!

The chair has now been delivered and my Aunt is already using it and looks very comfortable in it!

As I live far away from Yarningdale, I'm very grateful to the team for their efforts in making this recommendation and doing their best to make my Aunt as happy and comfortable as possible.

Reply from Lauren Slater, Marketing and Communications Officer at Yarningdale

Thank you for sharing this lovely feedback. We're so pleased your aunt is enjoying her new chair, and we'll happily pass on your kind words to the team at Yarningdale, who are always focused on making every day better!

We always get a very warm welcome from both the staff and residents when we visit with our Therapy Dogs, once a month. The dogs thoroughly enjoy themselves getting lots of treats and we enjoy seeing the joy they bring to residents. We visit with the activities lady to the bedrooms for those who cannot access the lounges which is so lovely. The staff are so nice and enjoy seeing and making a fuss of the dogs. It is always very clean. We have been visiting for several months now always being greeted enthusiastically in the reception.
