Very clean, all staff are excellent.
Found one nurse very helpful and who kept me informed of everything.
Thank you so much for all the staff who have been involved in my husband's time with you. Thank you.
This home was already amazing before the pandemic, but it rose to the occasion by doubling its endeavour to look after my husband and reassure me about this well being. As far as I am concerned they have become our family and are exceptional in delivering professional care, compassion and dignity. We would be absolutely lost without the staff at Monkscroft - they are all brilliant.
Our father was admitted to Monkscroft for the last 4 months of his life following a stroke. He was initially a bit grumpy but the staff were so warm, friendly and caring that he soon settled in. His care was tailored to his needs. If he fancied a lie-in that's what he had, if he wanted to chat to us the staff facilitated this. I felt my father was well cared for.
At his end of life, the staff comforted both Dad and my sister and I and were magnificent support that meant so much to us. A million thanks.
Even over the phone, we were kept informed of how Dad was. And we had a bi-weekly Zoom meeting between the management and activities teams and family/loved ones keeping us up to date on Monkscroft and the Trusts way forward through lockdown and any other issues we wanted addressing.
The activities team did an amazing job keeping Dad engaged on a one to one Zoom with the family, sitting with him and chatting with him and us alike.
Overall 11/10 for the way Dad was looked after and you have an amazing team at Monkscroft.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
The care and attention during my stay has been unsurpassed with all personnel courteous and caring to the extreme.
My husband was here for a short while but I can honestly say with hand on heart they gave him the best care ever. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us but they did everything they could to make his stay very comfortable.
The management and staff are wonderful. I have been made so welcome, and the improvement in my mother is excellent. Thank you, everyone. I have been made to feel part of the team (family), but the relationship between my mother and themselves is lovely. They have made her very welcome. The care they take is brilliant. The time they spend on everyone is brilliant, and through these difficult times, all I can say is a very big thank you to the manager and the team. A big thank you to Springbank, take care all.
Couldn't be better. Carers are excellent, management are always there for you. Reception staff are brilliant, cleaners are always bubbly and chat. Nurses are excellent and always there for you. Excellent service, highly recommended to people.
My experience of Monkscroft is excellent. The staff are very helpful, kind and cannot do enough to help us. The care home is excellent - very clean and tidy and my dad is very happy here. I recommend anyone staying here as their family will be very well looked after.
Unfortunately for me, both of my parents have been unlucky enough to suffer from Dementia. However, as collectively my parents would have been residents of Monkscroft for in excess of four years, this does put me in a good position to give an accurate review of the home. They are a fantastic team of people right across the board in the care that they provide to the residents, good food, cleanliness and under normal circumstances, regular quality activities. Recent times with Covid 19 has made things particularly challenging for my dad who suffered from severe anxiety during lockdown. The whole team at Monkscroft worked together with advice from other professionals, to help him through what was a very difficult time and I am extremely grateful to them all. I would recommend Monkscroft to anyone without hesitation.
My father was a resident at OSJCT Monkscroft for 11months, receiving the utmost professional and respectful care from lead carers, carers, housekeeping and reception. He was on Redgrove household, which is a fantastic friendly and very welcoming household. His dementia, unfortunately, had deteriorated so he was moved to Springbank (nursing dementia) household, where yet again is a fantastic place. The staff at Monkscroft not only show care for their residents, they also carry the respect and care on through to the families. I’m sure there are many many great care homes out there BUT you’d have to go a very long way to beat this one. We cannot thank the staff enough for how they cared not only for my father but for us as a family also. Unfortunately, my father passed away in March and other than being at home, we wouldn’t have wanted him to have been anywhere else. If ever you are in need of a genuinely great place to care for your loved one... look no further, it’s right here.
The staff have been and continue to be outstanding in their support and care for my Father. They give themselves sacrificially especially in this current crisis of Covid 19. My Father is very settled and I believe, regards the staff as his family and Monkscroft as his home. I am deeply appreciative of all they have done and continue to do to help my Father live there happily and comfortably. Thank you.
Staff cared for our mum tirelessly in her days before passing. She was always clean, and the room was beautifully kept. Mum became friends with her carers, and this was lovely to see when we frequently visited. We were always made to feel welcome and offered drinks, biscuits, cakes etc.
Christmas was lovely, and the home was decorated beautifully.
I also saw tenderness and patience with the other residents who often receive one to one attention.
She was encouraged to join in the activities, and although initially reluctant, she thoroughly enjoyed herself.
When I asked if she liked living there she would say, ‘what’s not to like ‘ and that sums up the friendly, welcoming staff at Monkscroft.
Monkscroft has well-kept rooms and plenty of well-maintained communal areas, including a number of secure outside/garden areas. Visitors are welcomed at any time of day, tea and coffee are always available. We found that the senior staff on duty would always be able to give us a good picture of how Mum was progressing, and they kept us informed on her various minor ailments as they arose, phoning us if there were any urgent matters. We also found that any problems could be raised with the staff, and action would be taken as needed.
Monkscroft is a warm and welcoming place.
I was depressed after visiting nursing homes in Cheltenham while searching for a forever home for my husband, who had been diagnosed with stage three dementia. My depression melted away when I stepped inside the doors of Monkscroft. My first reaction was wow. With its wide and generous hallways and mixed community spaces, it felt more like a five-star hotel. The reception as you enter is impressive. The ground floor has a sweet shop, hairdressers, a tea room overlooking gardens and a small cinema. The high standards of hygiene and decor are impressive throughout the home. Most importantly, everywhere in the home I was continually struck by the warmth, patience, respect and dedication of the St John's team of nurses, carers and cleaners. I am eternally grateful for the care my husband and I received whilst at Monkscroft; it was as if I always had close family surrounding me and the comradeship will be eternally appreciated.
The staff are fantastic, cheerful, helpful and caring.
Very friendly, helpful staff who looked after my blind mother really well for 4 weeks' respite care.
