Moving to a care home is never an easy decision, but Gracewells went to great lengths to ensure that my
Gracewells is a very welcoming place - it always looks immaculate, but it is really the lovely staff who make it the wonderful home that it is.
Within a few weeks, the staff had begun the process of looking into starting the support group and now it is up and running, with monthly meetings to chat and to listen to talks about the various aspects of dementia, all helping us to understand and to try to come to terms with the changes in our loved one's dementia journey.
This is another example of the support from the staff at Maids Moreton, and their compassion and eagerness to help and to understand.
Thanks to the management and their wonderful staff.
The family are so welcomed and encouraged to be a part of resident's life - take meals with them, attend activities, and spend time in the various lounges or very attractive Bistro - which has the best coffee! The grounds are very attractive and relaxing - weather permitting - and wheelchair accessible outside.

I am a qualified Learning Disability Nurse and have worked in the care industry since I was 18, starting out as a care worker and progressing into leadership roles. Over the years, I have built a strong foundation of skills and knowledge.
Before this, I was Director of Governance and Policy within a large health and social care provider. In this role, I set up governance and quality systems, introduced digital systems to improve oversight, and developed organisational processes to ensure compliance and sustainability.
As Home Manager of Maids Moreton Hall, it’s important that I’m resilient, empathetic, and have strong leadership skills. A good manager must be able to listen, solve problems, and support their team to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care. Integrity, accountability, and the ability to adapt to challenges are also vital.
Spending time with residents is the highlight of my day. Hearing their stories, seeing them smile, and knowing that the team and I are making a positive difference to their lives reminds me why I chose this profession.
I am proud when residents and their families feel safe, valued, and supported. I am equally proud of my team when I see them growing in confidence and skills, working together to provide excellent care.
Outside of work, I enjoy family time with my husband and three children, and I’m a big animal lover with dogs and cats at home. I also enjoy travelling and visiting my farm in South Africa, reading, and creative projects.
