I visited Brook House with my wife, we were both so pleased to meet the new deputy manager, she is so friendly and full of love for the home. Staff was very jolly, as were the residents. Great work, keep it up.

My friend has been resident at Brook House since June 2017 and his recovery has been nothing short of miraculous. We all doubted that he would ever make a full recovery from his fall but is now almost ready to be discharged. The staff have been kind, friendly and caring, especially in the early days
when my friend needed 24/7 care.

After a very difficult couple of years, Mum entered Brook House in March 2017. For me, it was a relief that she was in a safe environment. Mum is extremely well looked after.
Whenever I visit there are always plenty of staff on duty who are always cheerful and very accommodating.
My bother and sister
have learning difficulties and when they visit Mum, the staff always make sure they are looked after so well.
I would recommend Brook House to anyone.
Thank you.

Dad receives truly excellent care at all times. He looks far better now having been at Brook House for seven months than he was at home in the last few years. He is also much calmer and relaxed. He was very anxious at the start but all his carers have done a tremendous job making him feel very welcome
in his new home. They could also not be more welcoming to us each time we visit. The varied events they run for the residents are fantastic. They also welcome members of the family to join in which is greatly appreciated. We have been so impressed with Brook House, so much so we recommended it to one of mum and dad's neighbours who recently spent his last few weeks there before he sadly passed away. His wife told me today that the care she herself has received since his death last week has been unbelievably good and comforting. We simply would not want dad to be anywhere else.

Unfortunately, mum had to move to Brook House from a previous home where she had been asked to move on due to perceived 'Challenging Behaviour'. As you can imagine, this was extremely stressful and upsetting for mum and the family, but the staff here have been fantastic helping mum settle and the management
team have been great assisting us with funding issues and the logistics of the move. We are now glad the move has happened and are of the opinion that fate has dealt us a positive hand and mum is now in a home where she will be cared for and she will flourish. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brook House.

The care my mum in law receives from the staff at Brook House has been amazing. They show genuine kindness and compassion to her and also to us.

It has made what was a difficult decision so much easier and has given us confidence and reassurance.

My mum in laws needs have changed over the last

year and the staff are always incredibly adaptable and keep us well informed.

I cannot speak highly enough of Brook House and the staff.

My mother has been a resident of Brook House nearly 4 years now and I must say we are very pleased with the care she receives. The staff are very caring and understanding with the needs of the residents and feel that they do the best they can. They work very hard in what must be sometimes very challenging
situations.
We feel that we can come and visit at any time and that any concerns are usually dealt with quickly.
Thank you for all your hard work...... It is appreciated.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.344)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.344) out of 10 for Brook House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.519 for Brook House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (95 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 156 Ratings = 4.519
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brook House Nursing Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I began my career in 2012 as a bank night care assistant in a residential dementia home, where I quickly discovered a true passion for dementia care. This led me to become the home’s Dementia Trainer, a role I found incredibly rewarding, supporting others to better understand and care for those living with dementia.

I progressed through various roles within the same home, eventually becoming the Registered Home Manager. Since 2015, I’ve had the privilege of managing both care and nursing homes in a range of leadership positions.

Today, I’m proud to be the Home Manager of Brook House in New Malden. After several years as a Peripatetic Manager, moving between services to provide support where needed, it’s a pleasure to now settle and truly call this place home, not only my workplace.

My team and I warmly welcome you to Brook House in New Malden. We are committed to delivering consistently high-quality, person-centred care and to building strong, meaningful connections within our local community.

I am a Team Leader and Brook House’s Dementia Champion. I enjoy working alongside a great team of people who take time in their roles to offer a Person-Centred approach to Care and work closely with our residents to ensure they live in a Happy, Safe and Comfortable home.

I have always had a keen interest in Dementia and Brain Injury after my Brain Tumor was operated on and successfully removed in 2002. I feel this has brought me a natural empathy and understanding of people and their symptoms and side effects, and l feel this helps me in my role as Dementia Champion. I joined The Future Care Group in 2019 as l could see the company has a good reputation for Dementia Care and strive to improve their Quality of Care, along with their Core Care Values, which are promoted and lived every day within their homes.
