My mother moved into Bridge in December 2016. The care she receives is superb - it's such a relief to know that she is safe, so well looked after and genuinely adored by the staff.
The lifestyle coordinators work really hard and encourage residents to join in and try new activities.
The party arranged for my mother's 100th birthday was fantastic.
I would not hesitate to recommend Bridge House.

I cannot comment re value for money - it's very expensive but is on a par cost-wise with other care homes - what price can you put on a loved ones well being and safety?

Our Mother suffers from a rare terminal neurological illness, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She has been a resident of Bridge House for three years. Over that time both her nursing and care have been carried out by the staff with the greatest of kindness and professionalism. The fact that despite her illness progressing steadily, she has never had an infection and always looks her best is a great testimony to the high standards at Bridge House. I would recommend them without hesitation.

In early 2015 my wife was diagnosed with 'Lewy body' dementia, and by November of that year she was admitted to Bridge House Care Home, Thames View, Abingdon for specialist care in one of their south-facing rooms. While she was a little resentful at the beginning of her stay, it was only the professional care of the staff that led her to accept her situation. After 22 months however, her health deteriorated suddenly and she died on 4th September 2017. I am happy to recommend Bridge House to future clients.

When you walk into Bridge House Care Home it feels more like a hotel than a care home. Beautiful en suite rooms spacious and with all "mod cons" suited all ages and disabilities. Lovely communal areas, plenty of space for walking inside and out. Food was always well presented and good choice on offer. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were all superb, well trained and very caring. Nursing staff were always on duty. Laundry and in house cleaning to a high standard. I loved The Bistro for coffee and lunch. A perfect place to stay.

I cannot say how pleased my sister and I were that we found Bridge House Care Home for mum.

The facilities are 2nd to none and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff whether it be the nurses, carers, domestic/maintenance staff the two absolutely fabulous lifestyle coordinators, hairdressers and reception/driving staff. What really makes a difference is how all the staff act as "one family" under the guidance of the manager. Unbelievable care.

Mum and Dad had a wonderful time - they felt the two weeks of respite care was like a holiday. They were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the quality of all the services. Mum loved the high-quality furniture and curtains. They made a lot of friends and are thinking of going back permanently.

Our mother came to Bridge House at very short notice, with a progressive brain tumour and a short and difficult life expectancy. Bridge House bent over backwards to accommodate her quickly and make her feel instantly at home. Bridge House feels like a good hotel, but with confident and exceptional care and, most important of all, great compassion and humanity. My mother received excellent care, tailored to her physical needs, but was also recognised for the individual she was and treated with dignity, humanity and compassion, but also kindness and genuine friendship throughout her time there. All that care was also extended to her family and we were supported and cared for right up until the end of her life and beyond. Bridge House and its staff felt like an extension of our own home and family and we were made to feel completely comfortable there, day or night, even after our mother died. It manages to be an exceptional care home, without ever feeling like a care home at all. We are very grateful to them.

Mum's declining mental and physical health necessitated 24hr care. I researched a few local options but when my son and I visited Bridge House our tour of the facilities surpassed our expectation and unannounced viewing let us see it on a normal day today and we were impressed. All the residents looked happy and entertained and all the staff were friendly and kind. The facility was more like a tasteful hotel than a care home. Amazingly mum not only settled in quickly but she seemed genuinely happy. In the year she spent I have nothing but praise for the dedication of the staff and exceptional standard of loving care.

The weeks that my husband stayed at Bridge House were very satisfactory. Personal carer medication were done well. The latter is very important with multi drugs been prescribed which takes care to administer correctly. Main difficulty is availability- currently there is no vacancy and also no 1-week respite care. My name is on the waiting list.

I consider that my ex-husband is being very well looked after at Bridge House. The staff are attentive and caring, and treat the residents with kindness and respect. There is good rapport between the staff and the residents who are encouraged to feel that Bridge House is their home. The staff are always welcoming to visitors and there is a general feeling of quiet calm which is re-assuring to everyone.

My mother was admitted to Bridge House to the dementia floor. The floor is beautifully decorated with numerous pictures and plants, and several areas for sitting overlooking the garden. There is a large room to watch films, a spacious lounge and a sensory room (which the grandchildren enjoyed!)
Mums room overlooked the garden and park, a lovely view and adequately furnished.
The staff are all very caring and helpful.
After one week Mum had a stroke. For the final week of her life Mum was looked after with amazing care and attention. The staff also looked after us as a family with numerous cups of tea and food. Her care was second to none and I can't thank the home enough.

The management were also very caring and helpful.

Over the night 22/23 March we had a smouldering electrical wire which resulted in the fire brigade coming and ended up with 24 hrs of very limited services ie electricity, no lifts or TV. The staff and team at Bridge House have been amazing as they kept us safe, informed and entertained. Everything has been restored to normal within 24 hours, but we always felt safe and looked after.

A wonderful smart, clean home, with ever so helpful kind, caring staff. That doesn't smell and have old people sat in a row in chairs looking bored. A large variety of activities offered to the residents and encouraged to do. Far too much food offered all the time. Any concerns are not a problem and soon dealt with. All the residents appear happy.

After initial problems nearly 2 years ago when my husband first went in, concerning wether they would accept him as a permanent resident with early onset Alzeimers, which caused me much distress. I am very happy with his care in Bridge House. Changes in staff are always a concern but this is a problem in most care homes. Any other concerns are are discussed and dealt with in an open way, having always been resolved. There is a friendly and all permanent staff are cheerful and welcoming with a nice buzz about the place. The location is excellent and the mix of non-dementia residents plus members of the public belonging to the Rivaly Club ensure a 'normal' atmosphere as well as a caring one, which is what I was looking for.

My mother has been a resident in Bridge House for 6 months. She has settled in remarkably well. She feels secure and valued. The staff are really caring everyone stops to talk to each of the residents if they see them alone or even just to keep them company. There are activities every day and Mum loves being able to go to the Bistro to have a change of scenery. Visiting is open and you are always made to feel welcome.
