Although only with them for a short time, the care and understanding was first class. Every staff member made a difficult time easier to cope with. Excellent.

It's a nice place for friends and relatives to visit.

During this time, his dementia/Parkinson's has deteriorated resulting in his ability to communicate and walk. Despite this, the home has been extremely responsive to meet his needs. They have taken time to learn more about him as a person and encourage his hobbies and interests. All the staff are caring, professional and cheerful. They are well led by the manager.
Overall care and safety is good. Some areas could be improved such as foot and nail care. We pay £5500 a month, surely £20 of that could be used on monthly Chiropodist visits. I have to cut my mother's nails and hair as both need to be paid for and this mounts up each month on top of toiletries...

Kind regards, Jean Bishop (Bridge House, Regional Manager).
I have been so impressed with the many instances of particular care and kindness towards my sister and other residents and the efforts made to give them pleasure. It is a lovely place to visit as it is always clean, attractive and welcoming.

The Bridge House has taken great care of our friend since February 2015. We visited many homes in a 30 mile radius and The Bridge House, Abingdon was top of the list by a large margin.

The party arranged for my mother's 100th birthday was fantastic.
I would not hesitate to recommend Bridge House.
I cannot comment re value for money - it's very expensive but is on a par cost-wise with other care homes - what price can you put on a loved ones well being and safety?

Our Mother suffers from a rare terminal neurological illness, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. She has been a resident of Bridge House for three years. Over that time both her nursing and care have been carried out by the staff with the greatest of kindness and professionalism. The fact that despite her illness progressing steadily, she has never had an infection and always looks her best is a great testimony to the high standards at Bridge House. I would recommend them without hesitation.
Thank you for your kind words and it is an on-going pleasure to care for your Mum! Feedback is always welcome as you know.

In early 2015 my wife was diagnosed with 'Lewy body' dementia, and by November of that year she was admitted to Bridge House Care Home, Thames View, Abingdon for specialist care in one of their south-facing rooms. While she was a little resentful at the beginning of her stay, it was only the professional care of the staff that led her to accept her situation. After 22 months however, her health deteriorated suddenly and she died on 4th September 2017. I am happy to recommend Bridge House to future clients.
A most relaxing fortnight with helpful and pleasant staff. We feel much better for our stay with you.

Lovely communal areas, plenty of space for walking inside and out. Food was always well presented and good choice on offer. Nothing was too much trouble. A perfect place to stay.

The facilities are 2nd to none and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff whether it be the nurses, carers, domestic/maintenance staff the two absolutely fabulous lifestyle coordinators, hairdressers and reception/driving staff. What really makes a difference is how all the staff act as "one family" under the guidance of the manager. Unbelievable care.
We have been priviledged that you chose us to nurse your mum. It was a pleasure to get to know you and your family.

Our mother came to Bridge House at very short notice, with a progressive brain tumour and a short and difficult life expectancy. Bridge House bent over backwards to accommodate her quickly and make her feel instantly at home. Bridge House feels like a good hotel, but with confident and exceptional care and, most important of all, great compassion and humanity. My mother received excellent care, tailored to her physical needs, but was also recognised for the individual she was and treated with dignity, humanity and compassion, but also kindness and genuine friendship throughout her time there. All that care was also extended to her family and we were supported and cared for right up until the end of her life and beyond. Bridge House and its staff felt like an extension of our own home and family and we were made to feel completely comfortable there, day or night, even after our mother died. It manages to be an exceptional care home, without ever feeling like a care home at all. We are very grateful to them.

I researched a few local options but when my son and I visited Bridge House our tour of the facilities surpassed our expectation and unannounced viewing let us see it on a normal day today and we were impressed. All the residents looked happy and entertained and all the staff were friendly and kind. The facility was more like a tasteful hotel than a care home. Amazingly mum not only settled in quickly but she seemed genuinely happy. In the year she spent I have nothing but praise for the dedication of the staff and exceptional standard of loving care.

My mother was admitted to Bridge House to the dementia floor. The floor is beautifully decorated with numerous pictures and plants, and several areas for sitting overlooking the garden. There is a large room to watch films, a spacious lounge and a sensory room (which the grandchildren...
Mums room overlooked the garden and park, a lovely view and adequately furnished.
The staff are all very caring and helpful.
After one week Mum had a stroke. For the final week of her life Mum was looked after with amazing care and attention. The staff also looked after us as a family with numerous cups of tea and food. Her care was second to none and I can't thank the home enough.
The management were also very caring and helpful.

The staff and team at Bridge House have been amazing as they kept us safe, informed and entertained. Everything has been restored to normal within 24 hours, but we always felt safe and looked after.
A wonderful smart, clean home, with ever so helpful kind, caring staff. That doesn't smell and have old people sat in a row in chairs looking bored. A large variety of activities offered to the residents and encouraged to do. Far too much food offered all the time. Any concerns are not a problem...

Anita has been part of our Bridge House family since 2016. From a young age, Anita knew her future was in the care sector when she completed work experience in a hospice and found herself staying late and returning every weekend to spend time with patients. She loved being able to make a positive difference in people’s lives and that passion has definitely transferred to our residents, families and team at Bridge House. And, with extensive care experience including roles as carer, senior carer, head of care, care services manager, and deputy manager, she was our perfect choice for acting home manager.
Speaking about her position at Bridge House, Anita said: “I love how every day is different and that every day you have the opportunity to make someone smile, to make their day better and to have a positive difference – it’s really rewarding. I’m also proud to support and develop our amazing Bridge House team – they truly are exceptional.”
In her spare time, Anita enjoys spending time with her family; her husband Leion and little boy Isaac as well as enjoying a good movie and nice ice cream!
