Mum's declining mental and physical health necessitated 24hr care. I researched a few local options but when my son and I visited Bridge House our tour of the facilities surpassed our expectation and unannounced viewing let us see it on a normal day today and we were impressed. All the residents looked
happy and entertained and all the staff were friendly and kind. The facility was more like a tasteful hotel than a care home. Amazingly mum not only settled in quickly but she seemed genuinely happy. In the year she spent I have nothing but praise for the dedication of the staff and exceptional standard of loving care.

The weeks that my husband stayed at Bridge House were very satisfactory. Personal carer medication were done well. The latter is very important with multi drugs been prescribed which takes care to administer correctly. Main difficulty is availability- currently there is no vacancy and also no 1-week
respite care. My name is on the waiting list.

I consider that my ex-husband is being very well looked after at Bridge House. The staff are attentive and caring, and treat the residents with kindness and respect. There is good rapport between the staff and the residents who are encouraged to feel that Bridge House is their home. The staff are always
welcoming to visitors and there is a general feeling of quiet calm which is re-assuring to everyone.

My mother was admitted to Bridge House to the dementia floor. The floor is beautifully decorated with numerous pictures and plants, and several areas for sitting overlooking the garden. There is a large room to watch films, a spacious lounge and a sensory room (which the grandchildren enjoyed!)

room overlooked the garden and park, a lovely view and adequately furnished.
The staff are all very caring and helpful.
After one week Mum had a stroke. For the final week of her life Mum was looked after with amazing care and attention. The staff also looked after us as a family with numerous cups of tea and food. Her care was second to none and I can't thank the home enough.

Over the night 22/23 March we had a smouldering electrical wire which resulted in the fire brigade coming and ended up with 24 hrs of very limited services ie electricity, no lifts or TV. The staff and team at Bridge House have been amazing as they kept us safe, informed and entertained. Everything
has been restored to normal within 24 hours, but we always felt safe and looked after.

A wonderful smart, clean home, with ever so helpful kind, caring staff. That doesn't smell and have old people sat in a row in chairs looking bored. A large variety of activities offered to the residents and encouraged to do. Far too much food offered all the time. Any concerns are not a problem and
soon dealt with. All the residents appear happy.

After initial problems nearly 2 years ago when my husband first went in, concerning wether they would accept him as a permanent resident with early onset Alzeimers, which caused me much distress. I am very happy with his care in Bridge House. Changes in staff are always a concern but this is a problem
in most care homes. Any other concerns are are discussed and dealt with in an open way, having always been resolved. There is a friendly and all permanent staff are cheerful and welcoming with a nice buzz about the place. The location is excellent and the mix of non-dementia residents plus members of the public belonging to the Rivaly Club ensure a 'normal' atmosphere as well as a caring one, which is what I was looking for.

My mother has been a resident in Bridge House for 6 months. She has settled in remarkably well. She feels secure and valued. The staff are really caring everyone stops to talk to each of the residents if they see them alone or even just to keep them company. There are activities every day and Mum loves
being able to go to the Bistro to have a change of scenery. Visiting is open and you are always made to feel welcome.

A kind and welcoming place in entrance hall. Smiling people who appear committed and happy in doing their duties when required, they are quick and relaxed in dealing with patient needs. My personal experience rates it as high.

My husband has been a resident at Bridge House for nearly four months. He has settled in well. All the staff, from management, activity, reception to nurses and carers, have treated him with kindness and sensitivity. The food is excellent and he enjoys his meals. The manager is always available for
discussion on any subject relevant to his care, as his wife and speaking for his other visitors we are always made welcome and made to feel at home. Having had difficulty making the decision that he needed full time care, I now know it was the correct decision and he is in the correct place.

There is such a wonderful, warm, homely and friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk into the home. The staff all have smiles on their faces and are extremely freindly and helpful. The facilities are welcoming and very well set out and decorated with a great variety of things for the residents and
their families to do. It is very evident that everyone cares greatly about the environment and the care that the residents receive and that is the most important thing that a relative can ask for. Bridge House feels welcoming, warm, homely, happy and safe!

Very pleased we came upon Bridge House. Father has settled very well. Run to a high standard with a family feel to the place. The care is excellent, a lot of nice food. So pleased a friend told us about the Bridge and cannot be more complimentary about the home.

My dad has had 2 respites with your home before I decided on full time care after a fall. I looked at other places but decided on Bridge House Care Home, I have always been delighted with the company set up. From the man on the reception, the driver, all staff are great.

My husband has parkinson's and alzheimer's and has been here for 2 and a half years. The home is bright, clean and welcoming. It has a spa, gym, cinema and mini-bus facility, whose staff (especially bistro) are amazingly helpful. The manageress is very approachable (always) and takes on board any comments
we have to make. Her understanding and compassion make her an ideal manageress, I think.


The care is good (most important of all!) as is the food. My one concern is fluid intake. My husband cannot ask for drinks, nor indicate that he is thirsty. Giving him drinks is time-consuming and I'm not sure that it happens, apart from meal times, when he is fed.

I have found the staff at Bridge House from the Management to front of house to be really friendly, patient and caring to both me and my friend. From the welcome we received when my friend first moved to Bridge House to the instance when the Manager sat with me to help me fully understand the nuances
of my friend's dementia, how this could manifest itself and the strategies they would use to manage her care. They always have time to allay any concerns we might have as we deal with the progression of the condition. The attitudes of the staff reflect the ethos of the home with everyone prepared to go the extra mile whether they work in the bistro, as chauffeurs, in housekeeping or personal care.
The home is modern, clean, airy and really welcoming. Activities are varied and inclusive. The home is adjacent to the river and park which provides not only a nice outlook but also plentiful options for walks despite its town centre location.

Reception pleasant. Films good. Staff sometimes slow to respond to bell in rooms. Staff generally always helpful and lovely with residents. Building always warm. Shower near gym most inadequate and one in spa not always available. Gym well equipped.

My mother has been a resident since April 2015 and when it is sadly time for our relative to be placed in a home it is a very difficult time. You wish for a place where they will be well looked after, but also a place where you are comfortable and as ease as a visitor. Well at Bridge House as soon as
you enter you are welcomed by very friendly staff for whom nothing is too much trouble.
It is like walking into a 5 star hotel, very clean, open and light. As my mother has dementia she is on a secure floor, but again nothing is too much trouble. She is well looked after, really cared for, the staff always use Christian names and always have time to chat. There is a lovely bistro to go to, gym, hairdressers and beauty salon where residents are pampered. The home is immaculate and cleanliness is again 5 star, I am already contemplating my place.

Marta

Marta Leszko

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

Marta has been part of the Carebase family since 2015 and, as a registered nurse and trained Dementia specialist, she has extensive elderly care experience.


Marta spent an earlier part of her career as Deputy Manager at Bridge House, before returning as Home Manager in 2022. She holds a master’s degree and Leadership and Management qualifications.


Marta is passionate about enabling our wonderful residents to live life to the fullest and providing expert guidance and support to families.


Speaking about her role at Bridge House, Marta said: “Nothing beats seeing residents smile, knowing they are happy and fulfilled. I’m proud to support and develop our wonderful team to deliver excellent care.”


In her spare time, Marta enjoys keeping active by cycling and doing Pilates. She also enjoys travelling and likes to relax by going to the cinema and spending time with friends.

Anita

Anita Radecka

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2016

Anita has been part of our Bridge House family since 2016. From a young age, Anita knew her future was in the care sector when she completed work experience in a hospice and found herself staying late and returning every weekend to spend time with patients. She loved being able to make a positive difference in people’s lives and that passion has definitely transferred to our residents, families and team at Bridge House. And, with extensive care experience including roles as carer, senior carer, head of care, care services manager, and deputy manager, she was our perfect choice for acting home manager.


Speaking about her position at Bridge House, Anita said: “I love how every day is different and that every day you have the opportunity to make someone smile, to make their day better and to have a positive difference – it’s really rewarding. I’m also proud to support and develop our amazing Bridge House team – they truly are exceptional.”


In her spare time, Anita enjoys spending time with her family; her husband Leion and little boy Isaac as well as enjoying a good movie and nice ice cream!
