Bowes House

My aunt has been in Bowes House for nearly a year. I was worried that the residence we had chosen would be suitable for my Aaunt’s needs. A year on I am very pleased with the choice we made. I can’t speak highly enough of the attention, care and support everyone at Bowes has shown and continues to do so especially during this pandemic. Well done Bowes House. Strength and honour as they say.

The staff and management at Bowes House continue to be a great support to us as a family at this most difficult time. We are unable to be with our loved one and give them a much-needed hug, but we know that the staff are their "stand-in-family" for us, which is an enormous comfort. Thank you to you all.

The buildings and facilities are very well maintained and above all clean. But most importantly for us, she was looked after by the kindest most caring staff, we could not have been happier with the love and kindness they gave mum. This became even more important when Covid hit and they became her family. I would not have any hesitation to recommend this care home and the lovely team that work there, some I know have been there a long time which speaks for its self. If you are looking for a care home you could not do better than Bowes House.

Bowes House staff looked after our mum with the greatest care and love until her death last month. I cannot thank them enough for enriching her life and making her so happy. They were with her at the end as we couldn't be because of Covid but we knew she was in kind and loving hands. Thank you is hardly enough and I would thoroughly recommend this lovely place.

The staff at Bowes House have worked hard during the period of lockdown to keep relatives in touch with residents. It has been a lifeline for me to be able to have video calls with my mum twice a week so that we can see each other. Generally, the staff have done an excellent job in keeping residents safe and well cared for during really difficult times for everyone.

During this difficult and worrying time, Bowes have helped mum to make a video call to either myself or my sister every week. Mum tells us that she is happy and that she is being given great meals. It is comforting to see that she looks happy and well. She regards the staff as her friends and often tells us how lovely they are.

I would like to thank all of the staff at Bowes House, Hailsham, and particularly those in "Meadow", for their professionalism and kindness in caring for my mother during the Covid-19 crisis. It has been a comfort during this difficult time, when direct contact with mum is impossible, to know that she is being so well looked after. Thank you!

I couldn't wish for better care for my mum. All the staff are excellent. During the lockdown the carers have been going the extra mile to make sure the residents still keep to a routine, still doing quizzes etc. They have arranged face to face WhatsApp calls which has been great. I really can't thank them enough for amazing dedication.

Mum has been in Bowes House for 3 years and specifically during COVID lockdown. I have as with every other relation/visitor been unable to visit but have both been regularly kept up to date with her status by phone conversation/facetime and from the management by letter with overviews of the situation. The staff have been very welcoming and helpful particularly when the vagaries of modern technology and a distant face can confuse an Alzheimic mind. They have obviously also maintained a very high professional standard in the face of adversity and for that we both warmly thank them and admire their efforts. May Mum's and all the carers' lives return to normality as soon as possible .

Lovely people at Hailsham, the staff do an amazing job. Meadow is not the easiest wing to work in, but the staff are kind, caring and patient, I cannot praise them enough. Over the years, 5 years if memory serves, I have never had to complain about the standard of care and I have had no worries over the lock-in period that they would take great care of Mum. The senior staff also have always been easy to deal with and do a good job.

When describing Bowes House I always say its like a 5* hotel. We are so very happy with the care facilities at the home. It is a great relief to us knowing that Dad is in such safe, caring hands which before coming to Bowes House this was a constant worry for us. We know now that we made the right decision and wish to thank you all so much for taking such good care of him.

June was a very difficult month, not only for the staff but also for residents and their families. Bowes House staff have always been ready to answer queries and although visiting was not allowed, they welcomed people to speak to loved ones via FaceTime. They really could not have been more accommodating even if, at times, it was difficult to get through to the units because of the pure volume of calls.

Staff were amazing.

The staff at Bowes House are welcoming and make you feel at ease immediately. They always have time to answer and address any concerns you have. My mother has been treated with respect and dignity whilst being encouraged to join in with activities to help settle in.

A very pleasant experience. Staff seemed attentive and friendly. My Gran seemed happy and there was musical entertainment.

I like my new home at Bowes House. I see the staff as my friends. We have lots of fun and I am very happy here.

The whole process, from the initial visit to moving in went so smoothly. Mum is very happy and settled at Bowes, the team are so lovely and they all work so well together as a team to make every day special for the residents.

Day care - always ready to help. Always use your name. Always keep the resident clean and tidy. Always find time for a few words. Night care sometimes a bit short.

I come to see my friend every week, she seems really settled now. She has a lovely room and says she is really looked after well. I would like to thank everyone for her care, she is very important to me.
