During the last month, Windsor Street Care Centre has opened up post-Covid in a managed and sympathetic way. The staff are always attentive and caring to my mother. She enjoys their chats and feels included and supported. I am always made welcome when visiting and the home has my full trust in caring for Mum. Thank you.

As a family, we just can't thank you enough for the excellent care you gave to our mum during her time with you at Windsor Street Care Centre.
All the staff, doctors, carers, nurses and admin team are very professional, caring and thoughtful.
Nothing was too much trouble and Mum was made so comfortable.

From the very first contact with Windsor Street Care Centre, we have been very thankful for all involved in Mum's care. The staff are so friendly and caring, not only to Mum but also to us as we navigate the changing circumstances of Mum no longer being able to live in her own home. Her room is lovely and we have been encouraged to fill it with her own pictures etc. Everyone we have come into contact with has been wonderful and I believe Mum is going to be very happy here - as are we.

The care received by my relative was first class. I cannot thank the professional and caring staff enough. For more than 5 years my relative was given all his caring needs. He was very happy here. The environment was excellent and very clean. I would like to thank all concerned, past and present.

Our experience has been amazing, cannot fault the care given to my aunt. She loves the food and the carers. Covid has changed things, however, everyone has done their best to see that residents are happy and safe.

My father was only at Windsor Street for a short time before he sadly passed away. The professionalism and care the staff showed my father, myself and my mother was outstanding, from the nurses, carers, manager, receptionist, cleaner and activities coordinator. The level of care and dignity shown to my father by all at the home meant so much to us. Thank you.

What is not mentioned in relation to the assessment unit is that this is an inferior version of what a service user might expect from a modern 21st-century care home. There are no activities to engage or stimulate the patients (supposed to be the residents who enjoy a full range of these). The staff are lovely but are too busy to spend time with them. The end result, with restricted visiting from outside, is a marked deterioration in mental health.

The perfect word to describe the "Windsor Street Care Centre" is "excellent". The loveliest, kindest carers and nurses who do everything that can to help you, even when you do stupid things, like me! I am very sad to leave your lovely care centre. Great cleanliness, lovely food and rooms, beautiful gardens. Thank you, everybody; I will miss you so much!

I have come through a bad patch and Parkinson's. In hospital the staff did really understand the nature of the disease and I spent long hours in bed, feeling my legs rotting away. Here the opposite is true. It's difficult for me to write neatly but all I need to say is the staff here is treating me with dignity respect. I think the staff is the best I have come across and they are a credit to their calling. They go the extra mile.

I cannot fault the carers. They go beyond their duties on many occasions, especially during the pandemic where they have to do hairdressing and nails of residents as well as prepare and serve three meals a day, wash up and personal care for each resident, some needing two carers to hoist them; my mother being one of them. I feel most strongly that carers are so busy, they do not have time to sit and talk to residents. It's disgraceful that carers are on minimum wage when non-trained cleaners can charge £15 an hour.

My mother was discharged to Windsor Street Care Centre from hospital. Although I had been my mother's carer for five years, my older brother was put down as her next of kin, and they dealt only with him. I went to the care home yesterday and begged them to let me see my mother. I'd spoken to her on Skype and could see she was failing. Due to covid, they refused to let me in - pleasantly, but firmly, despite 20 minutes of pleading. They told me she wasn't at "end of life".

At 9 am this morning, they called to tell me she'd passed away. My mother had dementia. She died thinking I couldn't be bothered to visit her. I was allowed to see her today. I am devastated that my mother died believing I didn't love her enough to visit her. This is something I will have to live with for the rest of my life. The carers who laid my mother out were lovely and allowed me to stay while they got her ready, but the management should have listened to my concerns.

I would like to thank Windsor Street for the excellent care my mother received during her 5 years as a resident, with steadily increasing dementia. Residents are treated with respect and affection, and relatives are welcomed and supported. The carers are a wonderful team whose patience and professionalism are so impressive for such a demanding job. The admin, domestic and catering staff are always helpful and there is excellent GP backup. Dementia is not an easy road for sufferers or families, but Windsor Street does its best to make it easier, and it comes across as a happy place.

Windsor Street Care Centre is a modern warm and welcoming home with staff who patently carte for the wellbeing of the residents as well as understanding the pressures on their families and responsibilities towards the family members of the resident. Staff always act in a professional manner and turnover is hardly noticeable which adds to the settled environment for the resident at a difficult stage in their life.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and provided my husband with excellent care during the last three weeks of his life.

He was admitted at very short notice straight from the hospital, but nothing was too much trouble. It was like home from home, and I would recommend this Care Centre to anyone.
