Orchid Care Home is located at the heart of the community in Haydon Wick. They are delighted that in November 2024 Orchid Care Home was rated as 'Outstanding' by CQC.

Orchid Care Home is very much the residents' home and the well being of the residents is at the centre of every decision made, through collaboration with the residents, staff and visitors. Residents are invited to personalise their rooms, and family and friends are invited to visit at any time suitable for their loved one. CCTV in communal areas provides an additional reassurance.

Orchid Care Home's team of nurses, carers and activities coordinators aim to provide holistic, person-centred care to the residents, which is adapted as the care needs of each resident changes, to ensure each resident lives a fulfilled life.

We enjoyed joining dad for fathers day in the pub, dad enjoyed burgers and chips and a lager shandy. Orchid activity team did a super job decorating the room and providing snacks and drinks.
The staff are kind and attentive and ensured both dad and his family were well cared for. We are always so
impressed with the carefully thought out activities that the team run.

My parent is really well cared for by patient and kind professionals. There are lots of interesting and diverse activities that they can get involved in. It's a lovely place and the staff are respectful but also caring and knowledgeable regarding my parent's needs. I really enjoyed the Mother's Day
afternoon tea and all the effort that went into it.

We have no complaints about Orchid. It meets all our mum's needs and more. It's clean, friednly and efficient. Activities to do or quiet if she wants it.
This afternoon was Mother's Day tea party, very well presented and enjoyed by all. This is a lovely place and very happy to have Mum here.

Attended after noon tea for Mother's Day and as always was greeted with a cheery smile and welcome from all staff. Always find the staff pleasant. I feel my mum is happy here, and she has a very pleasant room.

Today I have spent time with my mother-in-law at a Mother's Day Tea, sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea coffee, gifts of sweets for all mums.
What a wonderful way to celebrate our mothers. I wish to say a huge thank you to all at Orchid Care. Mother-in-law will be 100 years in November and if this is the
last memory we have of being with her, then it will be all we could ask for.

My mum has been a resident for the past 7 months. I cannot say enough about the staff at Orchid Care Home. My mum had a severe stroke last May and requires 24-hour care. She is living her best life and is so happy this is thanks to the outstanding staff who are all so kind and helpful, nothing is too
much trouble. My mum was very sociable and staff make sure the activities are enjoyed, they always made sure she can take part. Fabulous and so pleased.

Mum has been in Orchid Care since February and I have to say, everything has been absolutely outstanding from when mum first moved in, to date.
The staff are all fantastic, very welcoming, efficient, caring, kind, helpful and considerate. They have quickly got to know mum's likes/dislikes and will
raise any concerns immediately, keeping us informed of everything relating to mum all the time. Nothing is too much trouble for the residents or family members.
Mum has settled in better than we thought. She is always clean, very happy and content and gets involved in most of the social activities. My sisters and I are happy knowing that she is safe and her welfare is of most importance to the staff.
I can't rate this care home and all of the staff high enough - absolutely amazing :)

Such a lovely afternoon tea put on by the team on 28th March 2025. Enjoyable company and delicious sandwiches, cakes & scones. Everyone worked hard looking after us and my mum and I had a special afternoon together.

Orchid is an excellent care home.
Mum is so well looked after by nurses, carers & activities.
The activities are amazing - lots of variety & special events celebrated that family can join in with eg. Mother's Day, Christmas carols.

Orchid Care Home is a wonderful place. My mum's quality of life has improved greatly since moving into the home. She is well cared for and it gives me peace of mind that I know she is safe, well cared for and happy.
The staff at Orchard Care Home are fantastic, the staff and residents have a great
bond, and you can tell that the staff really care for the residents. All in all the care home is a welcoming and happy place.

My mother is a resident now for over 3 yrs. She joined my MIL, who was a resident at the time. Both with dementia. My husband was very happy with Orchid Care during the 3.5 years his mum lived there before she passed away 6 mths ago. Despite the difficult start settling in Mum, the home manager &
staff were extremely understanding, helpful & tackled any concerns raised straight away. The manager has an open door policy for all.
Rooms can be personalised that provide an environment like home. The carers do a great job! Mum enjoys the food & the entertainment which is provided to enable residents lives to be as full as it can be. Families are invited to be involved & their thoughts are always considered. My mother is very content now and the wider family have finally found peace in the knowledge Mum is safe, clean, cared for & in particular no longer lonely. She has new friends & although she may not always be able to hold a full conversation, her smile always tells a story.

Excellent care home. My Dad has been there for over a year and very happy. Residents are provided with fun activities to keep them entertained and the health care is fabulous. I am the operations director for the Angel Care/MNS Care group of homes. I qualified as a mental health nurse training in 1991 and as an adult nurse in 1996.
