Orchid Care Home is located at the heart of the community in Haydon Wick. They are delighted that in November 2024 Orchid Care Home was rated as 'Outstanding' by CQC.

Orchid Care Home is very much the residents' home and the well being of the residents is at the centre of every decision made, through collaboration with the residents, staff and visitors. Residents are invited to personalise their rooms, and family and friends are invited to visit at any time suitable for their loved one. CCTV in communal areas provides an additional reassurance.

Orchid Care Home's team of nurses, carers and activities coordinators aim to provide holistic, person-centred care to the residents, which is adapted as the care needs of each resident changes, to ensure each resident lives a fulfilled life.

Orchid Care Home has exceeded all expectations in caring for my mother-in-law. Over the last 18 months, she has blossomed in this friendly and caring environment and is treated with respect. All of the staff are welcoming and friendly and show pride in their work. The home is kept immaculately clean
in all areas. Activities are numerous and varied for all residents, and the staff are there giving encouragement and support when needed but also giving the right amount of independence where appropriate. A great care home.

Every time I have visited Orchid Care Home, the staff have always been so friendly and helpful. There are always lots of great activities on for the residents, and they are so great at making every occasion special, whether it’s Christmas or a birthday.

Mum moved to Orchid Care Home in September 2018 so has now lived there for five years - I feel the service now is better than ever. She appears really happy and comfortable which is all we hope for.

My friend arranged for me to visit and have lunch with her. The location is very pleasant with adequate parking. The staff were always kind and patient with the residents. My friend's room was small, particularly with a wheelchair, walkers and mobility chair but the outlook over the gardens was nice.
Getting around was easy as the corridors were wide. Lunch was fine and the staff made me very welcome. Loved seeing the goats, fish and budgerigars. A welcoming home.

When I come to visit Mum, the staff are always very welcoming. If Mum needs anything, we only have to ask and it is sorted out for her. All staff are aware of Mum's ongoing problems, and are more than happy to provide updates whenever we ask.
Mum is treated with care and respect and staff are happy
to stop and chat with her. We are provided with regular updated on Mum's care plan, and if anything requires change it is discussed with the family.

My mum has been a resident at Orchid Care Home since May 2021, and I can honestly say that I know as a family, we made the right and best choice.
My mum is treated with the greatest respect and care, and although she has Alzheimer's/dementia, she is not treated as a fool.
Orchid Care Home has a great
and very approachable management team, a great care team and a great activity team, plus not forgetting all the great people behind the scenes eg, kitchen staff, laundry staff, cleaning staff, maintenance staff etc, who all do a fantastic job.
There is great communication and regular updates on what's going on from the management.
I could go on, but I personally think the opening sentence said how I feel - very happy and very satisfied.

My mother-in-law moved into Orchid Care in April this year. She is now able, with the use of a “special” chair, to go to the dining room and activity sessions and has enjoyed the company. She has some lovely carers looking after her and us (when we visit) and appears to have settled well. From our point
of view, it has been the best move for her.

My mum has been a resident since May 2022. I can honestly say I have had no cause for complaint in that time. The carers really do care; they look after my mum as if she were their own parent. The food is good and varied. Mum is always clean and well-presented.
I'm impressed by the number and variety
of the activities. Mum doesn't often choose to take part but isn't pressured to do so.
I can sleep well at night knowing Mum is safe and happy. When she was unwell, they didn't hesitate to get the doctor. She was hospitalised, but on discharge, they welcomed her home and let her know she was missed; I can't thank the staff enough for their dedication and care.
Finally, when I've had questions, they've always been answered honestly and thoroughly. I always feel the managers are open and honest. That's important to me.

Every time I visit a resident, I am met with politeness and a smile. My friend says the food and care are excellent, and I was a volunteer on a trip to the seaside recently and saw the loving care all the residents receive. Residents are so happy. It will definitely be my own choice of care home when

We haven't previously had great experiences with other care homes, so I was obviously slightly nervous about the move. Since coming, I am pleased to see how attentive and respectful the staff are. They apply such caring professionalism whilst maintaining a cheerful disposition. I know the job can be
challenging, so this is very much appreciated. Little things like small check-ups and respectful communications set them apart from other homes - explaining reasons for delays is one such example. My bamp seems very happy here - thank you.

The staff are so wonderful, there is one carer who makes my mum smile, and Mum is happy when she sees her, but as I said, the carers are fantastic. The activities are amazing. Valentine's Day and Mother's Day were amazing, and activities ream went out of their way to make it special. Big thank you
to management and caring. Nothing is too small, whatever troubles you; they listen and try to make it right. A big thank you to all at Orchid Home.

This home is amazing... consistently amazing. The design and layout of the actual home work very well. But it is the 100% effort and dedication of the staff that makes it what it is. What a team! The manager and deputy are the best that we could ever have in charge of our loved ones. I recommend Orchid

We have been so welcomed, and it feels so homely and has a very happy vibe. The staff are so helpful and lovely, accompanied by a smile. This is the best care home I have seen that cares for all and has so many trips and activities to do- it's amazing. I would highly recommend - 10/10.

All the staff are wonderful, from cleaners to management. They speak to Dad with respect and treat him with respect. Nothing is ever any trouble. We are so pleased that Dad is in Orchid Care Home.

Mum has settled very well, and we are happy that she is well taken care of at Orchid Care Home. The staff are all very caring and treat the residents with dignity and kindness. Any issues/problems/questions are well dealt with. The range of activities provided is exceptional.

My wife has been in Orchid Care Home since November 2016. During/including the pandemic years. Very difficult times for everybody in care homes and relatives. According to Government rules, they informed us of everything going on, and I and my family were happy about it. Every time I visit my wife,
the manager and staff (carers and nurses) are always very polite and helpful. Therefore, I and my family are very happy that my wife is a resident at Orchid Care Home.

She has a passion for providing a service that caters for those people that entering their later years and believes that fun and laughter are the recipes for good emotional well-being.

I am the operations director for the Angel Care/MNS Care group of homes. I qualified as a mental health nurse training in 1991 and as an adult nurse in 1996. I have been a nurse, deputy manager, registered manager, quality manager & assistant director. I have been an operations director for many years prior to joining this company, I have a passion for making a difference and a wide knowledge base, and I love working and being a leader in social care.
