Orchid Care Home is located at the heart of the community in Haydon Wick. They are delighted that in November 2024 Orchid Care Home was rated as 'Outstanding' by CQC.

Orchid Care Home is very much the residents' home and the well being of the residents is at the centre of every decision made, through collaboration with the residents, staff and visitors. Residents are invited to personalise their rooms, and family and friends are invited to visit at any time suitable for their loved one. CCTV in communal areas provides an additional reassurance.

Orchid Care Home's team of nurses, carers and activities coordinators aim to provide holistic, person-centred care to the residents, which is adapted as the care needs of each resident changes, to ensure each resident lives a fulfilled life.

My father-in-law enjoyed over six months of care at the Orchid before he died. The care was exceptional. Staff were kind, happy and so caring. They really bonded with my FIL and him to them. The range of activities for residents is wide, always something to keep them interested and occupied if they
were able. The home is clean, modern and in an attractive residential area. Sadly my FIL died recently but the end of life care was amazing. Yes, it is very expensive but the care was the very best.

I do not think there is enough attention to detail for individuals. It costs a lot of money and I feel lots of things are overlooked eg I always have to get Mum's glasses and hearing aid for her. I don't feel there is enough personal attention to stop loneliness. She has dementia so does not know how
to put on the radio or TV or remember to drink enough. I know they're all busy but I feel more could be done to make it better and for me to recommend you.

There are a full range of activities that can be accessed by all of our residents, those residents with dementia are supported to attend meaningful activities both in group and one to one sessions. We very much aim to prevent loneliness for all of the residents living within our community at Orchid Care Home. As nursing and management team, we very much operate an open-door policy for our residents, relatives and visitors to the home to speak with us about the care that they/their loved ones are receiving - be it positive or negative.

We had a good feel for Orchid as soon as we walked through the door on the first viewing. Mum had dementia and we needed to know she would be safe and well cared for. Orchid is light, airy and modern and the staff are fabulously caring, supportive and attentive. Sadly Mum’s stay was relatively short
she was only there five months but our instincts were not wrong, we had made the right choice, this was the best place for her. Mum had settled and that was down to the first-class care she received. Orchid Care Home is top-notch, I highly recommend it.

Excellent care home and facilities.
Excellent carers and nurses. Very professional, kind and friendly to mum and family.
Excellent entertainment team. Works very hard to ensure residents have daily activities and lots of laughter and fun. A real tonic. Christmas carol concert and panto were enjoyed
by all.
Management - very approachable and friendly.
Cleaning - very high standard. Food - always enjoyed by mum.
Reception - very friendly and professional.

I have been at Orchid Care home for 18 months, originally to give my family a break after a minor fall. After 3 days, I decided to stay until I die. The nursing care is so professional and caring. I am in a perfect position to judge this as I went away at 16 to train as a nurse, I am now 90. There are
2 layers of care, senior and basic grade. The training of all levels is 2nd to none. Management is always available. There are 4 staff looking after the activities and there is something for everyone eg hydro pool in the home, minibus, food and drink. For me, the food is good, most of the issues are generational or cultural. Our age groups are traditional - meat and 2 veg. These problems will get sorted out.
