Over all time Orchid Care Home has 150 reviews.
Excellent care and facilities. Friendly and knowledgable staff, extremely helpful on every visit. Particularly likes the coffee area on the ground floor. The whole establishment runs like a well-oiled machine.
Thank you for your lovely review; we are so glad you like what we do!
The Orchid Care Home is the benchmark all homes should try to reach. The love given by all staff to every resident is beyond belief. Super food, standards, and genuine care and laughter given by the activity staff - a revelation. The overall word is kindness in thought, action and care. Kindness covers everything Orchid do. My mum's last few months made me feel included and calm in the knowledge she was professionally cared for and loved at all times - a marvellous place.
Thank you so much for this lovely review; we are very proud of the care, kindness and fun we offer at Orchid; it is rewarding to know it is so appreciated by the loved ones of those we look after.
Would recommend it if anyone needed a care home.
Staff are always welcoming and always there to ask any questions.
Always clean and tidy, bedrooms are spacious and clean bathrooms.
Thank you for reviewing Orchid Care Home; we are grateful for your comments, and these will be passed on to the teams.
The nurses and carers work hard to understand the needs of each resident and are happy to talk to me about how my husband has been when I am not there.
The activities team try to provide activities that my husband can join in, and I am very happy when I receive photos from the activity coordinator showing me that he has enjoyed an activity.
I am made to feel welcome by all the staff when I visit, as they are friendly and address me by my Christian name.
I have always recommended Orchid Care Home as an excellent facility.
Thank you for sending such a lovely review. We think our teams are pretty special, and we are glad you agree.
Visited and took the family dog to visit, couldn't have been better received. Always able to have a coffee with my mother-in-law. Nice to see lots of photos of the residents and all the different activities they take part in.
Thank you for your lovely review of our great care home.
From senior managers, nurses, senior and junior carers, activity providers the attitude of care is very clear and welcome. A team owners can be proud of, and I can trust.
Thank you so much for this review of our lovely care home, we are indeed very proud of the team there, I was in the home yesterday and it felt happy and as normal, very caring.
When we knew Mum was on end of life, all the staff allowed me to move into Mum's room as I don't live in Swindon.
They made me comfortable with a great reclining chair, they couldn't do enough to make my time with Mum the best ever.
The staff were beyond kind and compassionate not only to Mum and myself, but to see firsthand how they treated all the residents was truly amazing. They go out of their way to help and care and I would go as far as to say it's not just a job to the staff but a pleasure for them to care for their residents.
The home is kept very clean and tidy and the food is amazing.
To be totally honest it's like a 5-star hotel and although my three days with Mum were sad everyone made them special.
Thank you so much for these exceptionally kind words, this review was a joy to read, I have been at Orchid today and praised then for their kind, compassionate care and for going above and beyond. I have also thanked them for the consideration given to all during your Mums passing. May she rest in peace and condolences are also sent to you.
My mum has been in Orchid Care Home for a few years now and is over 90 - thanks to the nursing care she receives. There are so many positives I can't write them all down. Every staff member is wonderful, the home is a community for families as well as residents. It was a great relief to us all when the current manager came back and together with the other management team have the place running like a top. I feel guilty that I am not looking after my mum myself, but know that her needs are greater than my capabilities and my mum is in safe and caring hands. I only hope Orchid Care Home is still operating when if I need care in my final years.
Thank you for taking the time to review Orchid Care Home, your comments are much appreciated. Our staff work hard for our home community, and we are very pleased you like what we do.
The staff ensure they meet the needs of each individual resident and keep them entertained and comfortable. They keep me up to date with developments in mum's health care. Mum made the transition from living independently to needing care with ease and understanding.
Thank you for reviewing our lovely care home. These comments mean a great deal to our staff and are very useful for people who are choosing a care home. We are very pleased your Mum has settled so well.
Volunteers and staff always have activities going on. Not all, I notice, will participate. Families are kept in the picture with the newsletter and social media. Which is great.
Thank you for your review, we really appreciate the time you took to send this. Comments like these not only inform people searching for a care home, but they also boost team spirit by acknowledging the effort staff put into their work. Thank you.
The staff go way beyond the call of duty to help and have been brilliant.
Their care has improved his mental health immensely and I cannot thank them enough. The reassurance of knowing he is in safe hands goes a long way.
Thank you for posting such a lovely review. Our teams work hard to make our residents feel at home, it's good for everyone to have a happy, positive environment.
I could not praise the staff and their way of going out of their way to help. It was my Dads 100th birthday. They gave us use of a room for a family get together. They had decorated the room, made the lovely cake and all the carers and management came in to wish Dad a happy birthday.
Thank you for your review! We do love a party, and we are very pleased it was a memorable occasion for you all.
On the celebration of my father's 100th birthday, we were very pleased with the assistance given by the care home's management and my father's immediate carers, in making his day a very memorable one for him and his family. This is especially so following the recent Covid pandemic and the restrictions imposed on the staff. The room, cake and decorations provided by the home were lovely gestures and we all thoroughly enjoyed the party, as did my father.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home, we very much appreciate it. We are pleased it all went well for the party. We all enjoy taking part in our residents' life events, that's what helps to make it home.
The Orchid team exceeded expectations in supporting us to celebrate my father's very special birthday. The catering team supplied a tasty well-decorated cake, tea and coffee. We were given use of the cinema room, which was well decorated with banners, balloons and appropriate music organised by the activities leader. The home manager's leadership of the happy and attentive team made the day and gives my father a comfortable, safe environment to live in.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We are so pleased you and your father enjoyed the big birthday celebrations, the whole home team enjoyed these events as well, I am sure that was apparent on the day. As you say, the manager and her team do a fabulous job in making Orchid a very comfortable and safe environment.
My mother was cared for wonderfully in this care home for almost four years. She was very happy, contented and loved there. The care and the staff were fabulous. She recently passed away, and in her last few days, they were wonderful to Mum and to me.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We loved looking after your mum, and we are so sorry for your loss.
All staff are friendly, helpful, and dedicated. The car park is often full, including the disabled bay making it difficult with a wheelchair and hoist. Rooms are of a reasonable size and kept clean and tidy. The activities programme is particularly good (very varied). The food is good and plentiful and the coffee shop is a welcome addition. We would like better communication regarding Mum's personal care, dentistry, chiropody, GP etc. Fees are high and regularly increased.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your comments, positive and negative. We are limited with parking due to our location, unfortunately, but we do make sure that the disabled bay is used appropriately. Please let us know if you have any further problems with this. We do have to increase our...
As always a very friendly caring attitude - the staff and management work very hard under difficult circumstances. We feel Mum is safe and in good hands.
Thank you for your lovely review, our staff endeavour to provide the best for our residents, it's good to know that is recognised and appreciated.
Orchid Care Home os a warm and welcoming place with "care" at the heart of what they do. They are there for the good and bad times and are good at keeping relatives informed.
Thank you for taking the time to review our care home. We really appreciate these comments and this also boosts our staff morale, which in turn improves the experience for our residents and their families.
My mother joined the home in October 2021 the staff have all been helpful, kind and explained everything to us. She has challenging behaviour, this has been addressed with empathy. Each and every staff member has spoken with us to assure and explain things and the way forward to help her. We have been in contact with home management team at all times, they regularly speak/email us on any updates. A kind and caring team.
Thank you so much for your kind review and recognising all the good work at Orchid Care Home.
We always find staff and management approachable, friendly, helpful and caring. Importantly, our mum likes them and gets on well with them and has built good relationships with those that care for her. There is always lots of activities which are varied - catering to all skill levels and during the pandemic, photos have been posted on social media to keep us up-to-date and we have had video calls with Mum weekly when we couldn't visit. Mum always says how much she enjoys the food - lots of pictures confirm this.
Thank you for your kind review of our lovely care home.
