Orchid Care Home is located at the heart of the community in Haydon Wick. They are delighted that in November 2024 Orchid Care Home was rated as 'Outstanding' by CQC.

Orchid Care Home is very much the residents' home and the well being of the residents is at the centre of every decision made, through collaboration with the residents, staff and visitors. Residents are invited to personalise their rooms, and family and friends are invited to visit at any time suitable for their loved one. CCTV in communal areas provides an additional reassurance.

Orchid Care Home's team of nurses, carers and activities coordinators aim to provide holistic, person-centred care to the residents, which is adapted as the care needs of each resident changes, to ensure each resident lives a fulfilled life.

This is regarding the acceptance of my Mum, first class service in all areas, and compassion shown to her following the recent passing of her husband. A new chapter of her life at the great age of 90 years, where she can interact with all people and with people with the same capacity as herself, to
be looked after and enjoy her time ahead.

The care home and staff are incredible.
The effort and the ideas over the Christmas period was excellent.
The activities and the festive food had so much thought.

My brothers and I couldn't be happier with Orchid Care Home. Mum has been there for over 2 years now, and even though her dementia has become more acute lately, she remains happy and content.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and you never get the feeling anything is too much trouble.
I
have already recommended the home to others and will continue to do so.

Mum is well cared for.
The carers are friendly, gentle and treat Mum with respect, always knocking or calling out before entering her room. They always engage with mum and family when they visit.
There are activities nearly every day and parties celebrating many occasions.
The home is well-maintained
and always clean.
Visitors are made welcome.

This establishment has relieved our whole family of the worries we've previously experienced in care homes for my mother in the closing years of her life. Unfortunately, Covid robbed us of any choices we should have had and my Mothers's condition worsened during that time. We now have the confidence
and reassurance gained by being at Orchid to allow us relief from the fear and worry of her care.

Dad spent the last three months of his life in the care of Orchid Care Home. It was so reassuring for the family to know that he was in such a safe and caring environment, with the most wonderful staff and nurses looking after him.

My mother has been in the Orchid Care Home for two years, during which time her dementia has sadly significantly deteriorated. It has been a great comfort to me and the wider family to know that she is always clean, cared for, safe and treated with respect. The staff go out of their way to encourage
her to take part in activities despite her limited capacity. The patience and care of all the staff cannot be faulted. It really does feel like a family - even the admin staff know everyone by name and are always welcoming. I cannot recommend Orchid highly enough.

My husband was admitted to Orchid Care Home in November 2021 and resided there until he passed away in June 2024. During this time, we found the care home to be very clean, well managed and having a wealth of facilities to aid the care of residents. The care my husband received during this time was
exemplary, this was particularly felt when he was receiving end of life care. The care and support offered during this time was exceptional and gratefully received. Myself and my family would like to praise and thank the care staff, the nurses and management for looking after my husband and ourselves during this time.

Dad became a character during his stay at the care home, bringing a smile to the team which must have been a boost to them all. Would recommend this home for future residents families, as the care we received helped my family a lot along the way.

I can't recommend this lovely care home enough, the services everybody gave to my friend was absolutely wonderful. All the staff were very helpful and they all seemed to genuinely care for all the residents. Outstanding!

My mother-in-law went in here in July. As with all care homes, there is always that niggling feeling that something is not going to be right. We had a guided tour by the deputy manager and were well impressed with the facilities, rooms and description of activities that are laid on. She has now been
in here for 5 months and we have no worries about leaving her in the care of this care home. It is well-managed, clean and has a wealth of facilities. The activities that are laid on for the residents still blow me away. You don't get this in other care homes. Regular singers, pianists and even alpaca stroking. They arrange trips out to local attractions, and pubs and host events in their own gardens. The residents love it and the mother-in-law is always happy every time we see her. The manager is very approachable and willing to help and resolve any issues that arise. Staff are very efficient. The whole establishment has a sense of let's live, instead of waiting for God. Amazing.

Our mum became a resident at Orchid Care Home earlier in 2024. From the beginning and throughout the level of care and professionalism was exemplary. The care staff and medical practitioners were there for our mother on a 24-hour basis every day until she passed away. The level of care and support for
our whole family was exceptional during the entire period and was a great comfort and reassurance for us all during a very difficult and sad time. We are enormously grateful to all staff for this.

My mother spent her final three months at Orchid Care Home. She was always cared for in a friendly and compassionate manner by all of the staff. Mum particularly enjoyed spending time in the garden and the activities she took part in.
Her end-of-life care at Orchid Care Home was exemplary. As a family,
we were so well supported at this difficult time.

I visited Orchid Care in August 2024 unannounced to find a suitable home for Mum. I was welcomed by the home manager and shown around the home.
A few weeks later we managed to get Mum a room in Orchid. She has been in a couple of places but has not settled. She now absolutely loves where she is. All
the staff are so dedicated and caring. It is such a warm, welcoming place, there is so much going on in the home to keep the residents happy and involved. A home that hugs you when you visit. Thank you Orchid.

From the moment my mum came to Orchid Care Home, she has had great care. Lately (she is 100) she hasn't done so many activities, there are lots and very varied. Special days are celebrated. The care is second to none, it's a family atmosphere, always a happy place. Everyone speaks to all. My mum could
not be in better hands. She is safe, happy and in wonderful hands. If I need a care home later in life I would definitely choose Orchid Care Home.
