Orchid Care Home is very much the residents' home and the well being of the residents is at the centre of every decision made, through collaboration with the residents, staff and visitors. Residents are invited to personalise their rooms, and family and friends are invited to visit at any time suitable for their loved one. CCTV in communal areas provides an additional reassurance.

Orchid Care Home's team of nurses, carers and activities coordinators aim to provide holistic, person-centred care to the residents, which is adapted as the care needs of each resident changes, to ensure each resident lives a fulfilled life.

I have received nothing but efficiency and excellent service from this establishment and feel very confident that my mother is in very safe hands. As I have poor health myself, I have been unable to visit Mum in recent months so this is vital to my peace of mind.

The care staff are exceptionally kind, caring and always put the residents' needs above all. This is not just a care home, this is the residents' home. My mum spent the last 11 months here before she passed away recently. She had dementia but was always treated with kindness, respect and love from all the staff. If there were ever any issues, they were dealt with promptly and efficiently, I always felt listened to and all the team from reception, nurses,
carers, activity team and management gave a professional, kind and empathetic care for mum and us, I can't recommend them enough, thank you.

The Orchid Care Home is a very good place. It is very well run from the senior management all the way to the laundry and cleaning staff. They all really care about my sister's health and wellbeing. They listen to any concerns and will give back and keep family members updated when the need arises. The
activities provided are great, including trips out, and where possible my sister can choose to take part in as many activities as she wants to.
When it was her birthday she was surprised by a huge cake. Several members of staff sang and made her feel very special. It was joyous, and my sister felt very special. I, in turn, can feel confident that when I leave after a visit, my sister will continue to smile and be happy in the place she now considers her home.

My brothers and I couldn't be happier with Orchid Care Home. Mum has been there for over 2 years now, and even though her dementia has become more acute lately, she remains happy and content.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and you never get the feeling anything is too much trouble.

Mum is well cared for.
The carers are friendly, gentle and treat Mum with respect, always knocking or calling out before entering her room. They always engage with mum and family when they visit.
There are activities nearly every day and parties celebrating many occasions.
The home is well-maintained
and always clean.

My mother has been in the Orchid Care Home for two years, during which time her dementia has sadly significantly deteriorated. It has been a great comfort to me and the wider family to know that she is always clean, cared for, safe and treated with respect. The staff go out of their way to encourage
her to take part in activities despite her limited capacity. The patience and care of all the staff cannot be faulted. It really does feel like a family - even the admin staff know everyone by name and are always welcoming. I cannot recommend Orchid highly enough.

My husband was admitted to Orchid Care Home in November 2021 and resided there until he passed away in June 2024. During this time, we found the care home to be very clean, well managed and having a wealth of facilities to aid the care of residents. The care my husband received during this time was
exemplary, this was particularly felt when he was receiving end of life care. The care and support offered during this time was exceptional and gratefully received. Myself and my family would like to praise and thank the care staff, the nurses and management for looking after my husband and ourselves during this time.

My mother-in-law went in here in July. As with all care homes, there is always that niggling feeling that something is not going to be right. We had a guided tour by the deputy manager and were well impressed with the facilities, rooms and description of activities that are laid on. She has now been
in here for 5 months and we have no worries about leaving her in the care of this care home. It is well-managed, clean and has a wealth of facilities. The activities that are laid on for the residents still blow me away. You don't get this in other care homes. Regular singers, pianists and even alpaca stroking. They arrange trips out to local attractions, and pubs and host events in their own gardens. The residents love it and the mother-in-law is always happy every time we see her. The manager is very approachable and willing to help and resolve any issues that arise. Staff are very efficient. The whole establishment has a sense of let's live, instead of waiting for God. Amazing.

Our mum became a resident at Orchid Care Home earlier in 2024. From the beginning and throughout the level of care and professionalism was exemplary. The care staff and medical practitioners were there for our mother on a 24-hour basis every day until she passed away. The level of care and support for
our whole family was exceptional during the entire period and was a great comfort and reassurance for us all during a very difficult and sad time. We are enormously grateful to all staff for this.

I am the operations director for the Angel Care/MNS Care group of homes. I qualified as a mental health nurse training in 1991 and as an adult nurse in 1996.
