Generally pleased with friendly staff - high standards of cleanliness around the building (ground floor) - monitoring of my mum has been generally very good - a few incidences where she was wet (urine) and clothing was occasionally soiled and hung in the wardrobe.

Cafe is a massive plus!!! and staff generate a happy positive atmosphere. Not sure there is enough variety of entertainment/interest for the residents. Generally very happy with mum being placed at Mapplewell Manor.

My mother was fiercely independent and she considered that moving into a home was in some way a failing on her behalf. Mapplewell Manor changed all that. She could not believe how caring the staff could be and how much at home she felt.

Thank you for your kind remarks - your mum was an absolute pleasure and will be missed. I will pass on your kind remarks to our staff

Each time I visited my friend always found the people (staff) to be friendly and helpful. I can't really comment on management as I'm only a friend to the resident and wouldn't have any dealing with them. The home is clean and a warm feeling.

My first impressions of the airy, bright, very welcoming coffee lounge, the open aspect of the building and the friendly staff were all extremely encouraging. I was also very impressed with the knowledge and experience of the manager, on her initial home visit. Throughout my mother's stay, those first impressions never faded they were only exceeded. Mapplewell’s excellent performance starts at the top with the Manager who leads by example and is delivered by all the caring and devoted staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. Meals are tailored to guest's diets. My mother was blind but her needs were always recognised especially by the staff coordinating activities and entertainment. Most importantly I never had cause to worry about my mother's care during her 2-year stay. Staff were available 24/7 for any queries. Mapplewell Manor is a well organised and well-run care home where all staff take great pride in their work and surroundings. Thank you all for my mother's wonderful care.

This home is the best one I have ever been to. It's also the cleanest. Most of the staff make you welcome and I could not have wished for my friend to have a better place to live. It's beautiful and a home I hope I will end up in if it comes to that.

A truly excellent care home. Mum spent almost 2 years there and was very happy. When mum became ill, the love, care and kindness given were incredible. Mum was ill for several weeks, the end of life care was exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff went beyond the call of duty to care for mum.

Not the cheapest, but without doubt, the best in South Yorkshire. Thank you, everyone.

Mapplewell Manor is a beautifully decorated and furnished home up to a good hotel standard. It is always spotlessly clean and doesn't feel like a care home when you go in.

The staff are always cheerful and attentive to the needs of the residents. During Mum's final days at the home, all the staff were looking after her as if she was one of their own. When the family were unable to be with her there was always a member of staff present to watch over her. There is always activities organised and mum enjoyed poetry writing, singing and going out to lunch before she became ill. The staff and their attitude to the residents are a real bonus in this care home.

My mum has been a resident for 18 months as she suffers from Alzheimer's. The staff are amazing and work extremely hard to ensure all residents are cared for with empathy and dignity. They also have a full-time entertainment and beauty therapy team offering the residents a full entertainment program plus massages, manicure, facial and pet therapy.
This is fantastic stimulation for my mum and it really does put a smile on her face and a brightness in her eyes.

The support I also receive as a carer is so appreciated too.

I found the home to be welcoming, spotlessly clean and well decorated.
To me, it is like walking into a '5-star' hotel.
All the staff are happy, smiling and extremely helpful, there are always lots of activities going on.
Very welcoming to families with children.

Everyone makes the place 'home from home'

My wife has been in here for 12 months and I visit every day. Mostly my wife is very happy here and me and my family are very happy with the care she gets and she seems very settled.

I am speaking on behalf of my wife as she has no speech at all but she is well looked after.

Mapplewell Manor is an excellent care home.
The rooms are luxurious and always clean.
The standard of care from the care staff is extremely high and the staff often go above and beyond the general care, for example, knowing my mum is a catholic they often say a prayer with her at night.
The activity staff are continually arranging treats, vocalists, musicians, activities art/general knowledge, poetry reading.

Mum is 96 years old and lived in the home for three years and would not have reached that age without such dedicated care, I am very grateful.

There's a lot of new staff and residents which is unsettling for mum. The care from staff is very good and with her regarding food, she does refuse drinks because she doesn't want to be a pest asking for the toilet.
Staff are respectful towards her and the manager is nice but quite busy.

Mum likes her room and is very comfortable. Mum feels safe and has no worries at all.

I first came to visit last October from London and we come up once a month now.
All the staff were very welcoming and full of great advice on what to say when my nana asks questions. I now have great relationships with a few of them, which is wonderful and gives me peace of mind between visits.

Nana's room is lovely and always really clean. She seems very settled here and has strong relationships with all the carers.
